And I still can't [ s e e ] you
[/blockquote]’Who am I? Well, that’s certainly an intriguing question to be asked with an equally interesting response; I have no clue. Since we’re being so honest here, let’s just say you don’t know yourself as much as you’d like to. Who knows who they are? We’re just kidding ourselves here, believing that we are everything we want to be but we secretly want to be something else. We either want to be bigger and stronger, or be forever remembered in the world. We strive to be something we’re not in order to please others, wearing masks and parading ourselves like idiots in front of critics that will never be happy. We’re all jealous, and I will outwardly admit that my envy is directed towards you.’
Staccato strides were choppy, extending no farther than mere inches before paws stepped gingerly onto the ground. Claws gripped the soft soil of the earth, picking up vibrations from tiny prey to the larger of species such as the wolf’s own. Unsure paws traversed over the forest floor, shuffling leaves and twigs around noisily as each caressed the surface. Ears swiveled to capture the flutter of wings, the insolent bickering of squirrels, and more importantly, a threat that could be lurking nearby. The male’s coat was a tell-tale sign that he was of Mexican Wolf descent as the shades of tans, grays, and black ran in no particular pattern upon the tips of his fur. His legs down to his paws a subtle shade of cream as they consistently shifted cautiously over the earth.
’Although, you’ve personally never done anything wrong or unjust to me, I am still highly envious of you. You have one thing that I will never have and that is the ability to see. You can see colors but all I see is this damned oblivion. You get to see your offspring and their beaming faces. You actually know what you look like and yet, I am forced into a world of emptiness and want. I want your freedom to move about freely without being labeled and looked down upon. You could get off your high and mighty spiel and realize that you’re taking this whole ‘I can see' thing for granted. I’m sure not once had it ever crossed your mind that blessed sense could be stripped away from you, distorting what you see into absolute nothingness. You’ll no longer be able to excel in a world that will reject you because you’re a liability. Who am I kidding here…? We’ll never be same.’
The moderate amount of muscle mass did little to disguise the fact that the male’s ribs were visible. He fended as well as he could on his own, grabbing whatever he could that came to him. He knew how to hunt but these lands were unknown and foreign to the wolf. He stepped into the sunlight, halting as the warmth collided with his coat. His eyes were then highlighted as the shard spotlighted them. Sightless, milky white pierced through the souls of other. It was ghostly, unnerving that such eyes were emotionless and empty. Cataracts held his sight hostage and having been born blind, he never knew what birds looked like or what he looked like. Hell, his coat could be matted, and he would appear unsightly to even the highest of rulers, yet he wouldn’t know. His future, he was sure, would be unfulfilled and short, and his greatest fear was dying too early before achieving his goal.
Osare, perhaps along the way, had forgotten where he was or maybe it was his incessant ramblings within his mind. For a moment, there was little understanding that he was where he was. Strides became longer and a little more confident but soon his tense body recoiled. His body collided with something unknown, forcing him to stumble backwards in shock. His body trembled violently before he staggered forwards. His quick reaction made his paw rise, blindly searching for the surface of what he recently bumped into. Claws ran over the rough bark of a tree and malice rippled through his visage. ”Really?! Who decided to make trees and so bloody many of them?” His voice was angered, rage treading through his words. ”My gosh, the least your creator could have done was make you able to move! I’ve ran into one too many of your kind for far too long and enough is enough!” He snarled, muzzle scrunching up as he yelled at the tree. While it may have been a rather humorous sight, Osare was easily pinpointed as over the edge angry.
With an indignant huff, he pivoted on his paws. ”I bid you good day, tree,” he spoke in an almost high and mighty way. His head was turned over his shoulder as he spoke these words, walking forwards a few steps. Once his head moved back to its appropriate position, he seemed proud of himself. Osare shook his head, reliving the recent collision until his body was jolted backwards once more. He snarled angrily, eyes flashing with rage as he snorted loudly. His head snapped backwards over his shoulder, glaring at where he thought the recent tree lay. ”Gathering troops I see, tree? Well, you know I have to say to you? I hope an inferno comes and destroys all of you until you’re nothing but ash that I can stomp on!” Words that stung fluttered from his lips and he settled into the ground, grumbling bitterly to himself. ”Fucking trees… No respect….” Osare’s voice trailed off into his mind, looking like a defeated and pouting pup in the middle of a forest that was keen on giving him more bumps on his head. Just his luck that the trees would be after him again and he could only hope the torturing would end.
Ooc: This was too amusing! =: P Osare does have rather large monologues in his thoughts as that is just the way he is, spending more time in his mind rather than out of it. =: P Enjoy! By the way, the title means "Remember Me" in Gaelic.
