OOC Hey! It's Ruki! :D Been workin' on a new skin, which is why I haven't posted much, and it's finally done! Mostly anyway. Change it to Umber Fields and you should see all the fun. There are bound to be a few kinks in the display, so please tell me if there's anything wrong, or if something just looks odd to you, like if the font's too small. :C I'm thinkin' it might be. Staff ppl should pm me with 100x100 icons. Also the mini-profile circle images are 125x125. I thought they were 100x100 at first, but no, I forgot about the circle border edits. |D Couldn't have gotten it done without the codes from the people in the credits, so silent shoutout to them. Staytuned for more weird updates. Might do some re-arranging of the boards. Anywho, hope you like it!
OLD: 4/04 Ruki says: NEW SEASON! Spring has started! We might start advertising places again now that midterms are over for all of us, and posting is back up. Not exactly OOC news, but Enheit Alpha Sinead has PUPPIES. If you wanna adopt the last one, the adopt thread is HERE! Ody and Raven have their own rules for this, so read them and adopt a pup if y'all want. SPRANG BRAAAAKE.
2/26/15 WHY HELLO! Guess who it is again. Ruki. I've been busy condensing rules and tips into a handy updated guidebook here on THIS PAGE! with the help of my fellow staff buddies. It's super important to read and make sure you get all the fun info down. The newest rule is about ALPHA ACTIVITY, so be sure to read the Lands and Territories section. The gist of it is that yall leaders gotta post once a week. If you don't POOF. No more land for you. This is a new rule, but if you haven't posted within the next few days and haven't been active in a while, you best get on that 'cause yo' land's 'bout to be snatched.
IC Spring is here at last and the land is beginning to flourish with new life once more. Young animals are plentiful and slowly others are rousing out of hibernation. April showers rain down, and springtime flowers are budding out from their winter beds. SPRING will last from April 1st - June 1st
Another winter had come to Ravensbruck, and while everyone knew it was coming, no one had truly expected the severity of the season.
As it was, although winter had just began, the snow fell so thickly that it piled like a blanket on the ground, freezing the earth beneath it and knocking the leaves from the trees. Schreien Forest was completely and utterly bare. The trees were stripped naked, the bark ripped off in places where the deer had gotten to them, rubbing the felt from their aching antlers. It was beautiful, in a way, but deadly. Like a viper.
Dresna knew that she should not have been out alone. Before she'd left Irrsin, she'd briefly contemplated asking someone to come with her...but she'd swiftly changed her mind. Not that it mattered, since as she was racing towards the border, she caught a glimpse of her father watching her. He'd made no move to stop her, and in turn, she'd said nothing to him. They were so very much alike now that Dresna was an adult, but at the same time, vastly different. Her fur was the brightest of ivory like his, and her eyes were a vivid blue...but she had so much of her mother as well. She was shorter than her father, slimmer, more feminine. Her face was more angular like Kasimira's, her hips more shapely, her movements more fluid than powerful. Where Tortuga was brute strength and Kasimira was deadly charm, Dresna was somewhere smack in the middle. And, vain as it may have made her seem, she loved it.
Beautiful, wolves would whisper as she passed them, whether it was when she was accompanying her father to auktion rock or simply running alongside her mother. Beautiful. Dresna wasn't daft; she'd seen the way the males stared after her longingly, and the gleam of envy in the eyes of she-wolves when she sashayed past. Dresna had a new-found confidence in her appearance, in her womanhood...and it was all thanks to Eneko. Even now, the thought of her time spent with him by the falls made her ache to run, to howl, to burst from her very skin. Shivering with delight, the snowy she-wolf sprinted through the forest, weaving between the trees with expert grace. She had danced between these trees beneath many moons, had sang her haunting songs in the dead of night like a banshee, had prayed to Eperna while nestled in the underbrush. This forest, this country, was her home. And with everyday that passed, she was becoming prouder and prouder to call herself the Heir of Irrsin.
Her parents still knew nothing of Eneko, and he knew nothing of them, but Dresna had long ago chased the guilt from her bones. If her parents were fire then Dresna was ice, and she was tired of feeling shame. No longer would she feel uncomfortable in her position. No longer would she worry until she couldn't sleep at night. She was Dresna; she was beautiful, she was fierce, she was desired. Unable to contain herself, a fierce howl slipped from her black-ringed lips, echoing through the night. The moon shone down on her fur as she ran, on and on, never wanting to stop. Somewhere above her an owl called, and she barked back a greeting, delighted. Gods, she loved winter. Despite the heavy snow that blanketed everything, despite the frigid air, it made her feel alive.
