OCTOBER
Leave me alone it's nothing serious,I’ll do it myself, It's got nothing to do with you, And there's nothing that you could do
this is me in the flesh,
NAME: October
NICKNAME(S): Tobi or Octi
PRONUNCIATION: Like the month.
POSITION: Slave
taste the sky,
AGE: 15 months
GENDER: Female
BREED: Ethopian wolf
HEIGHT: 82 cm
APPEARANCE: October is a fawn coloured Ethiopian wolf with very little red compared to most of her kind. Her snout and face are very dainty and foxlike, with a small snout and black that almost appears to be painted on. October’s sunken in amber eyes are large and almost always opened wide. She has relatively small ears that tend to be either set as far forward or back on her head, giving her a look of intensity. Beige wisps of fur cover the inside of her ears. Rather than the brown that most Ethiopian wolves have along their back and tail tip, October’s back and tail are a rich chocolate. Her otherwise white tail is very short, almost appearing to be a failed docking attempt however it is very thick and fluffy. Like most Ethiopian wolves, October’s legs are very long and slender, tapering down until they reach broad paws. Her frame is very lean. Years of work show in her muscles, but her body is made up of little else, giving her the build of a greyhound. She has a creamy underside and thin ring around her neck. The thick fur on her chest is this same light color, which also is found over her eyebrows.
thoughts that make me go insane,
PERSONALITY: At first glance, October is the perfect slave. She is quiet and obedient, rarely talking back and working in a polite manner. October is truthfully a very ambitious canine with strong- and often unpopular- opinions on how the world works as well as how it should. Her true nature, fiery, loud and opinionated among her friends often comes as a shock to many. With those she feels comfortable around, October shows her personality that is brimming with curiosity and the desire to learn and discuss. However, among strangers and authoritative figures, October remains concise and polite to the point of being shy and distant. She lives by the rule “grin and bear it”. Rather than speak up for a short term issue which would create a broken relationship and other possible issues, October prefers to simply work through pain and hardship.
October is very conscious of herself and actions. She focuses on appearing formal and professional, especially around those she doesn't know. She has a tendency to be something of a perfectionist. With regards to social aspects of life, October isn't much of a risk taker and rarely is one to initiate anything. October has a community mindset, taking the blame for any sort of issues whether or not she caused them. Likewise, she makes a point to not act out or upset authority at the risk of a foul mood damaging everyone. Any choice she makes is carefully thought out with this community logic and her own emotions and wants don’t enter the equation. By working with those who control her, October hopes to gain respect and in turn, freedom.
Her real ambition is above all traveling and learning, despite a slight resistance to change. October is very skeptical and philosophically minded. Her real fascination is trying to discover the creations and secrets of the creation and present of Ravenbruck and moreso, what lies beyond it. As much as she loves being around her friends, October is highly introverted and avoids any sort of stranger. She is somewhat of a pessimist and heavy planner, preparing for and expecting the worse to happen, but still trying as much as she can to make the best happen. For the most part, she enjoys getting things done and will fill up any of her freetime.
Due to her upbringing, October has a tendency to be both physically and verbally reserved in terms of affection. If she does like someone, it is very clear despite this. Among those who she enjoys, October is glowing, cheerful and will do whatever is needed to make her friends feel happy.
all over my shoulder,
FATHER: Aldric
MOTHER: Rune
SIBLINGS: four brothers, Bertram, Lanzo, Leif, Radulf and Reiner.
HISTORY: October was born in a highly traditional family to two adult Ethiopian wolves on the hottest edges of Ravensbruck. Since both of her parents were former slaves, they stayed far away from the nearby dominors in a large family community. Both wolves hailed from large families that all did their best to remain emotionally and physically close to one another. She would frequently have formal visits with her family and saw most of her family on a day to day basis. October was essentially the only introvert in her family. The rest of her family was very family centric.
October was the second to youngest and the only female among her other four siblings. Her older brothers were notoriously naughty. Most other wolves assumed that October took on the traits of her brothers, and in hopes to prove them wrong, she was always on her best behaviour. October generally watched her brothers play and get into trouble from a distance, both for reputation and for the fact that she was not as impulsive as her brothers.. Rune and Aldric trained their pups heavily in traditions, customs and manners but in most other regards were distant. They didn’t really mind what sort of trouble their children got into so long as they weren’t around to see it.
The set route for any female of October's family was pushed onto her from a very young age. Her family constantly segregated gender roles and October was told to focus on being a good mate and mother as an aspiration in life. The family was based around and functioned off of religion.October didn't believe the deities that her parents did or their way of life but made sure to never speak a word against them in their presence. Among the few other pups that she knew the same, October constantly vented.
October quickly became used to smiling and faking her way through ceremonies and other events. Her parents never suspected that their daughter was growing further from their opinions to the point of resenting them, as October did her best to simply conform to avoid unnecessary drama, acting as the perfect child. She remained silenced by her parents expectations, but the instant she was old enough to go out on her own, October took the chance. The wolf had large ambitions on studying and learning all that she could about the world around her and changing it as she saw fit. Unfortunately, a few months after leaving her family, October became captured and was destined to go back to her fate of being inhibited.
