CAMMIE Which each step that lead the dainty maned wolf closer to the roaring falls that could quite clearly be heard in the distance, her eagerness grew. So long it had been since Cammie had wandered away from the safety of Koravelle. It had been so very calm there, now that those puppies had been born. Cammie had not once gone to see them. Not because she resented Sayang. On the contrary, Cammie knew very little about the dog. But oh, she wasn't one for females, and she certainly wasn't one for puppies, so the two plus Cammie would have been a very bad mix. Besides. She was sure Sayang was tired enough. Cammie didn't need to add to her load. And hell, no, that wasn't because Cammie cared or anything. Huffing at her thoughts, she continued on her way.
She traveled the worn path with easy, long legs working at a quick trot as she moved. Life hadn't been very fulfilling lately, and the fae found that she had grown so very bored with everything. She had grown bored with the lack of attention, because if anyone knew Cammie - but come on, who did? - they would know that she absolutely thrived on roaming eyes and flattering compliments. She was a brat, plain and simple, and she knew it. Embraced it, if you wanted to get technical. The thought had her raising her head a little higher, her little tail swaying back and forth just ever-so-slightly.
Her craving for attention and just for a change of environment had called her to the waterfall, which she was so very close to. Never before had she been here before this cool night, but she had heard that it was a beautiful sight, popular with the lovers. Cammie had no mate, no one to bring to see the moonlight hit the waterfall just right like she desperately hoped it would tonight, but that was all fine and dandy. She didn't want anyone, she told herself. She was unobtainable.
Finally, finally she broke from the path, and immediately, she sucked in a breath. The moonlight was indeed falling upon the falls, the place beneath it where the water pooled practically alight. It was so breath-taking that Cammie felt frozen for a moment, and she barely managed to shake herself, her legs propelling her forward. She stopped only when the water lightly kissed her paw pads, and she inhaled, her chest rising, filling her with the promise of life. How very beautiful some things could be.
