All was quiet in this area, only the whispering of the falls interrupted the silence. This was this wolf's favorite land, besides his own of course. The grass was still lush, although slightly brittle from the cold winters air. It was flatter here, allowing the green eyed wolf to see across the whole territory. This time he would not howl to alert the Alpha's he was here, they would be able to see his large form from far away. No need to worry about straining his voice, that was going to be put to greater use. . He had heard much about the Alpha's, that the female had a quick temper and that they were both easily agitated. This meeting was going to prove exciting, if either or even if both showed up. He wasn't looking for a fight, but he couldn't wait to tell them of his plans. They should have heard of him by now, every wolf knew. IT was an honour that he was even coming down here, he would rarely come to see them. If the Alpha's wanted to talk to him he expected them to come and see him. He had a meeting place set up, and had started to spread whispers about its purpose. A smile spread his lips apart, his pearly whites flashing in the noon day sun.
Stolz paused, a light breeze ruffling his many coloured coat. There was a slight nip in it, telling him that there may be snow falls tonight. Lifting his maw towards the sky he sniffed, checking for any sign of the Alpha's They should be here soon, they would clearly see him standing here. Shuffling his weight from paw to paw he waited. Hopefully they didn't see him as a threat, he wasn't going to shove them out of their leadership. No, he was just going to have power over them. He was a fair leader, he wouldn't be mean to them. The laws that he had were simple and reasonable. Hopefully there would be no retaliation, he just wanted to talk.

KASIMIRA As the day grew older, Kasimira trotted leisurely around the southern border, her blue eyes surveying the land for intruders. Irrsin finally seemed like her true home. The meadow's soft grasses were a comfort to her in the spring, the large oak trees that bordered the land a peace in the blazing summers. Fall was beautiful with the many changing colors, and even winter looked dazzling as it dressed the world in a light snowfall of pure, crisp white. It had become her pride a joy next to her pack, the thing that she lived for. Kyren was an exceptional beta, and Tortuga had proved to be a witty, bold accomplice.
Spring would be visiting the meadow soon, and with it would come the pups' first hunt. Kasimira's pelt rippled pleasantly at the thought of her pups growing up, learning the ways of the wild wolf. They would be the spitting images of Tortuga and herself, developing and morphing into Irrsin's future heirs. Pride growled deep in the she-wolf's stomach as she moved along. The pack was strong and well cared for; the winter had been harsh, but they were making it through without any major casualties. Even the deep scars from the battle with Phantom had started to fade.
The ebony she-wolf had taken it upon herself to re-mark the border today; she'd left Tortuga and Kyren in a mock fight and Calliope and Matrid with pup duty. Zy had been exiled to the caves for another reckless antic of his. The only wolf Kasimira hadn't seen that morning was Korie--she'd been missing for a few days now and the worry was beginning to prick at the queen's conscious. Sklavin were sklavin, but she knew Korie to be a softer type, and not one at actively pursuing a chance of escape. Kasimira mentally promised herself to bring the topic up to Tortuga. He could help her organize a search party for her if she didn't show up by the day's end.
As the queen swung around to face the eastern border, a dark figure appeared on the horizon. Kasimira blinked in surprise as it moved across the land, not bothering to stop or even give a quick sniff to the border. Anger flared in the vixen's belly and she raced over the land, keeping her frame low to avoid being seen. It was futile to attempt to hide herself, she knew. Her black coat was an eye sore on the open meadow rises and too bold against the backdrop of pallid white. Still, she figured it wouldn't hurt, at least until she'd figured out what exactly was she was up against.
Fighting the winter bluffs of wind, Kasimira slowed her gait to a lope, her eyes blazing. The blood was up, the army and artillery ready for a fight if that was the haunting challenge. A general ready for war, Kasimira paused and raised her slim head to the sky. She let her voice soar through the air, calling to her partner for backup. Urgent. Come quickly. From what she could see so far, it was only one male. He was bulky enough, however, and she dared not taken him on alone. Warily she glanced at the trees, checking for other wolves accompanying him. It seemed that, for the moment, this intruder was alone. Kasimira cast a glance behind her for Tortuga before striding forward into the fray.
Kasimira's stance was tall and arrogant, bording on aggressive and hostile. It was only with immense effort on her part that her lips stayed covered and polite, instead of glimmering the war signal as she so violently wished she could. The air felt tense as her hips brought her before the male. His scent was musky and certainly masculine. Kasimira huffed out a cloud of air, her blue eyes narrowed to slits. No one who simply meandered onto her land without an announcement was welcome in her book. Voice tight and her body drawn up in normal royal posture, Kasimira commanded the verbal assault.
"Would you be so kind as to explain to me the exact reason you find it acceptable to simply arrive on my land--and without a formal announcement?"
Snarling, she added to her tirade.
"I'm dying to know, sklavin."

TORTUGA It was, perhaps, one of the most relaxing days that Tortuga had experienced lately. Everything seemed to be in order in the pack, everything running smoothly. The pups were as healthy as ever, squirming and wrestling under both Matrid and Calliope's watchful eyes. Kasimira was off patrolling, and he himself was perched on his haunches, sides heaving after his mock spar with Kyren. Everything was as it should be, their lives finally shaking off the chaos that had reared its ugly head for quite some time.
The land was still, blanketed in snow, a beautiful winter wonderland. There was the occasional nippy flurry of wind, but Tortuga didn't mind. Cold weather had never bothered him. In fact, winter was quite possibly his favorite season. Certainly not summer, when the air was sticky and humid, nor spring when the rain was a bothersome visitor. Fall was acceptable, as the brute was quite fond of how the leaves changed colors. But it was the winter that truly caught his attention. Bounding through the snow, completely in his element...it made Tortuga feel as if he were a pup again at times.
Shaking himself, Tortuga got to his feet, prepared to tell Kyren that he was up for another round. Before the words could slip from his maw, however, a familiar howl sounded. He knew instantly that it was Kasimira, and the call screamed urgency, for him to hurry. Without a backwards glance, Tortuga pivoted and broke into a sprint. Surely the others would understand why he had dashed off so quickly. They must have heard the call for him, as well.
Towards the borders he ran, his legs working furiously, sending his body flying forwards. He glided over the snow as if it was nothing, for many times he had hunted in it, had learned how and where to step, how to move his body. His muscles bunched and tensed, rolling beneath his ivory pelt. He had one thought, and one thought alone. Get to Kasimira. Perhaps something had happened, or maybe she had found something suspicious. Whatever it was, she needed him.
He had been intently scanning the horizon for her when he finally spotted her, and the first thing that he noticed was that she was not alone. Standing before her was another wolf, but Tortuga was too far away to detect who it was. The closer he got, however, the more he realized that he did not know this wolf. He had never seen the stranger before, had never laid eyes on his mixed coat. And as Tortuga finally slowed to a trot and then a complete stop at his mate's side, he realized that he had never stared into those vivid green eyes, either. This wolf was a complete mystery to him, and judging by the look on Kasimira's face and her posture, he was a mystery to her, as well. Tortuga was immediately on guard.
"And who might you be?" Tortuga asked, sides rising and falling rapidly as he gazed openly at the intruder. Though his voice was calm, almost conversational, there was no hiding the undertone of suspicion and command behind his words. For all he knew, this random canine could be a threat to the pack, and to his family. The last thing that Tortuga would ever do would be to take any risks when it came to what he cared about.
Snorting, he glanced quickly to Kasimira and then back to the stranger, squaring his shoulders and lifting his head just slightly as he waited to see what this strange wolf would come up with.

The male didn't have to wait long to catch site of the ebony female, attempting to hide her form but failing to. A smile parted his lips as he watched her race towards him. Soon she lifted her head and let out a howl, the message she was sending causing Stolz jaw to drop. She was calling for back up? But he was no harm to her! A sharp stab of pain poked at his heart. Did she really think that he was here to take over her lands? Tilting his head, he realized that she had no fault for feeling threatened. There was a strange male standing in the middle of her territory. Darn, he knew that he should have called for her attention. With a shrug of his shoulders he waited patiently for the female to reach him. He was in no rush.
He saw right away that the female was on the defense as soon as she reached him. The words that she spat out stung, causing the wolf's tail to raise and a low growl to rumble in his throat, especially when he heard the word sklavin. He hated that word so much, it was very demeaning. He opened his maw to reply when a white form skidded to the females side. Ah, her mate then. He asked him who he was, his tone much nicer than that of his mates. "As I was just about to tell your mate." he said, his green eyes flicking to her black form. "I am Stolz, the King of Ravensbruck. I am sure that you have heard of me, and I just came here to talk to you. I am glad you're both here."
Stolz sat, wrapping his tail around his massive paws. His eyes raked across both Alpha's forms, taking in their scent as well. "First off, I am not here to take over your lands, that is not what I want at all. You will still function as is, with a few things that I ask of you. There is not much, and I do not wish to over step your rule." His ears flicked, pausing to give both wolves a moment to take in what he had just said. It was true that he didn't come here to throw them from their Alpha positions, that wasn't it at all. "All I ask is that when their are issues, you come to me and my Queen so we can smooth them out. If they are small enough for you to handle, that is fine. Also, I would like it if to-be mates come to us to present their other half and receive our blessing. There is one more thing that I would ask of you. On the first birthday of every pup, if they could come see us and present their name with their parents so that we may learn their scent and their name." Nodding his head, his maw closed. Watching both the wolves he waited to gauge their reactions. This could get hairy, which is not what he wanted at all.
Stolz sat in the snow, wiggling to achieve a more comfortable seat. He wondered how these Alpha's, the first he had met on this day, would react to his new reign. Flaring his nostrils he took in a deep breath and held it, waiting.

KASIMIRA "As I was just about to tell your mate, I am Stolz, the King of Ravensbruck. I am sure that you have heard of me, and I just came here to talk to you. I am glad you're both here."
"In the future, the noble king would do well to announce his presence rather than simply invite himself onto the land of his ignorant subjects."
Heavily laced with sarcasm and the brooding, glittering orbs she was known for, Kasimira strutted forward, inspecting the male with the most unnerving gaze she could muster. She would make him shake in her presence, king or not. It was obvious that she would not lay down and heed his commands like a dog of the lesser sort; no, she would asses his skills and qualifications. If he passed, she would, at best, respect him. If not, things would turn for the worse. Testing the waters of another's leadership was easy enough and she would throw fire directly onto the spreading tank of oil, if needed. She alone had been born for power, born to rule. It was apparent to anyone; her carriage and dictations were clear, precise. Almost instinctive. This male on the other hand, had made waving, faulty claims of his royalty with no stance or motions to truly reinforce it with. Besides, a ruler who wanted something of another did things by the book. Stepping on wolves' paws before even leading the selected office was an omen in and of itself.
"As for hearing of you before, I have not. I do not listen to the gossip of my pack, instead choosing to determine relations and changes upon my own judgment."
Kasimira smirked inwardly. She would allow him to dissect her words as he chose; anyway he could figure he would find her to be plainly making a fool of him in the best way she knew how. It was hostile, the way she spoke to him, and in combination with her lashing words was her visible gesture of mocking him; it remained clearer than crystal and without any means of interpretation. This was a fight he would not win easily and not without blood on future terms.
The blue eyes remained flashing and vibrant as the male spoke, a quiet displeasure boiling inside the female. The news he brought didn't sound the least bit good for herself or the pack. Who was he to proclaim himself king and have his forced followers anoint him to the heavens? Hmph. Kasimira fixed the male with a cold stare, unwavering and silent in response. It took physical restraint not to snarl, but to instead dip her head as a respectful gestures, however meaningless and false they were for herself. Still, she kept the facade, settling upon the frosty flakes of snow and prickles of grass after Stolz did.
"First off, I am not here to take over your lands, that is not what I want at all. You will still function as is, with a few things that I ask of you. There is not much, and I do not wish to over step your rule."
A blank look of confusion spread over the queen's face and she blinked. Had she just heard what she'd thought she heard. As if to confirm her suspicions, Kasimira shot a puzzled, annoyed look at Tortuga. Surely he wasn't serious.
"All I ask is that when there are issues, you come to me and my Queen so we can smooth them out. If they are small enough for you to handle, that is fine. Also, I would like it if to-be mates come to us to present their other half and receive our blessing. There is one more thing that I would ask of you. On the first birthday of every pup, if they could come see us and present their name with their parents so that we may learn their scent and their name."
A snarl of outrage slipped from Kasimira's lips as Stolz presented his demands. Immediately she rose to her paws without a second thought, her ears flattened with a seething anger. It was if he expected her to trade her pride in order to keep her title as it currently was. Besides his practically criminal demands, he sat before her with an almost placid look on his face, the bright green hues switching between the Alphas as if looking for something. A congratulations? Did he want her to applaud him for what he was attempting to do to her reign? Did he need a sticker or a plastic golden star to know how good of a job he'd done in her eyes? Kasimira growled as she slunk forward, her chest puffed out and her eyes flaring contempt. He had another thing coming.
"And just what makes you think that I need you to sort out my pack's problems? Why should my wolves ask for your blessing on their courtship? Should they not ask of Eperna instead?"
The she-wolf's black fur bristled as she continued, a tirade edging over her hardened nerves.
"As for presenting my pups to your royal highness, I find that hard to back up with any evidence of necessity. Why does it matter to you how my pack grows and matures?"
Logiic was crucial. If there was any hope of winning Kasimira's agreement, Stolz needed to prove himself to be a true leader. Trying wasn't good enough. It had to be real, raw power.
"Am I not an Alpha? Challenge me if you like. I will not disappoint you, my king."
Kasimira snarled her reply, a horribly scathing tone entering her voice. Her voice was bitter and velvet in one, the arrogance plain as day and with no attempt made to be covered or smoothed. It was then that her demeanor changed slightly. Blue eyes flickered softly, her voice quieter and less abrupt than before.
"Name's Kasimira."

I used up all of my tricks
Kyren’s ears twitched, head raised in the direction of the howl he had just heard. The lady Kasimira’s howl. Kyren dropped the remnant of the rabbit corpse he’d held in his jaw. There hadn’t been much left of it anyway. The howl had not been meant for him, and yet there was a chord in the pitch he disliked. Leaving the remains to whatever scavenger came by Kyren turned about and sprang into a lope. Kyren wasn’t much in size, but the copper and white little wolf could sure run fast.
I hope that you like this, but you probably won't
Kyren slowed his gait once he saw the alpha’s and a strange bulky male. He could feel his ears flatten, and lips automatically pull back. The lady didn’t look all that happy to see it, therefore it had not been welcomed, and therefore it had no business still standing on their land. On the other hand, she had not chased it off yet, so perhaps the wolf had something to say that was worth listening to. Hey, it was possible the wolf would realize it was outclassed with the lady and would ask to join the pack. They could stand to have some more pack members, especially members that were not sklavins.
you think you're cooler than me
So, the small copper wolf strolled up to the threesome, ears up, head high, and his one good amber eye focusing entirely on the strange male.
"Am I not an Alpha? Challenge me if you like. I will not disappoint you, my king. Name's Kasimira."
Unfortunatly, that was all he heard of the conversation, still it was enough to know he didn’t much care for it. “My lady,” The words were of course for Kasimira, but he refused to let his gaze leave the stranger for even a moment, “I hope you don’t mind my appearance, I thought there might be trouble.” A soft snort inspecting the wolf before him, “One wolf…and if he is risking your wrath not a very smart one.” His voice was even, but a moment later he found himself having to hide his own amusement. Calling someone a fool for risking Kasimira’s wrath? Eh, hypocrite…how often had he risked the ladies wrath? Kyren wanted to ask about this ‘king’ business, but was not about to ask the alpha’s for a summary of events in a situation they were handling.

TORTUGA "As I was just about to tell your mate. I am Stolz, the King of Ravensbruck. I am sure that you have heard of me, and I just came here to talk to you. I am glad you're both here."
"Don't believe I have heard of you," Tortuga commented in an offhand sort of way, as if the conversation was pleasant yet...dull. His eyes, however, told a different story. They twinkled and sparkled with amusement as Kasimira sprang to life, just as he had expected her to. He watched her almost proudly, observed the way she strutted forward, every step laced with raw arrogance. It was beautiful, in an intimidating sort of way.
"As for hearing of you before, I have not. I do not listen to the gossip of my pack, instead choosing to determine relations and changes upon my own judgment."
Stolz went on to speak, and Tortuga listened, his face masking his mate's annoyed expression as she turned to glance at him. He gave a rough shrug of his shoulders, deciding that he would listen a bit longer to what Stolz had to say. Although Stolz didn't seem to mean any harm, he was working Kasimira up, and Tortuga's own temper was beginning to rear it's head. Who was this wolf to waltz freely into Irrsin with demands?
"All I ask is that when there are issues, you come to me and my Queen so we can smooth them out. If they are small enough for you to handle, that is fine. Also, I would like it if to-be mates come to us to present their other half and receive our blessing. There is one more thing that I would ask of you. On the first birthday of every pup, if they could come see us and present their name with their parents so that we may learn their scent and their name."
Kasimira's snarl was like a chainsaw then, and Tortuga's own lips pulled away from his teeth, his spine stinging as the fur along his hackles rose. Instead of springing for the King, however, he sat back on his haunches as if to calm himself. He knew his temper was fierce, and to let it get out of hand now wouldn't be wise. Besides, it certainly seemed as if Kasimira had a firm hold on the situation. The words she spat were like fire, and Tortuga found himself impressed once again by her. She was like a storm personified.
As Kasimira finished speaking, her snarl fading into a softer tone as she introduced herself - which successfully confused Tortuga -, the sound of paws padding silently against the snow had Tortuga turning, prepared for the worst. His spirits lifted, however, when Kyren came charging up. Tortuga had come to find that he trusted the Beta, and aside from Kasimira, he wouldn't have rather had anyone else at his side. Kyren would make a fierce opponent. And he's very wise, Tortuga thought, thankful for the addition as he nodded to Kyren before turning back to Stolz.
"Well that was an interesting speech, I must say," Tortuga said, his voice oozing 'calm and collected' as he tilted his head to one side. Despite his rage inside, Tortuga had long ago learned to revoke the satisfaction of allowing his enemy to see him angry. Besides, Kasimira was radiating enough anger for all of them. "I'm Tortuga. Dare I ask why it is you believe you may announce yourself King without any resistance?"

He knew that this was going to be the hardest confrontation of them all. The Alphess's temper was well known, and he had been warned about it. Her first words stung his ears, pushing gently on his anger button. He cleared his throat to calm his emotions, and nodded his head. "Yes m'lady, I will be careful to do that next time. I am truly sorry that I did not think to call you, and I will be careful not to do it again. Plus, I would never call you ignorant," he added, tail swishing slowly. The female stood then, walking around him in a circle. His body did not change, and his head remained forward. His glittering green eyes rested on her mate, a thin smile on his face. He would not let her get to him, he had lots of practice with his. He would not stray from his stance, from what he believed that had to happen.
Her mate's voice chipped in when they spoke of not hearing of him, he dipped his head in a short nod. "I apologize once more, Alpha's. I guess I did not know how far word would reach of me coming here. I must prefer it this way though, more personal," He ignored the underlying tone in her voice and words, he would not fight. He did not want things to turn in that direction, he merely wanted to talk to the Alpha's about what he was looking for. Her words may be harsh, but his pride in his pack and statues was higher. It would take a lot to beat him down. She was testing him, she knew it. He would not fail this flashing eyed female, he would prove that he was worth the position that he claimed for himself. His vivid green eyes switched between male and female Alpha, a small smile still on his lips. The corners were beginning to crackle, making it look only slightly forced.
The Alpha's before him were like two sides of a coin; connected, but completely different. She seemed to be like fire, quick to start and hard to put out. She was un-tamable and unpredictable. Her mate was the opposite, like ice. He was cool and detached, but there was an unpredictable element to him too. Ice did not attack like fire, ice was slow and determined; quick willed and quick thinking. They were quite the pair to behold, and Stolz was thankful to have them both before them. If the flames mate had not been with her, this encounter would have gone a whole different way.
He settled into his seat, glad that the Fire Queen did as well. As for her Ice mate, he was regarding him in a level matter. No anger, almost looking bored. He was on alert though, he could see it in the tension of his muscles. He spoke his next words, telling them that he was not interested in throwing them out of their seats. They would still reign as Alpha's, there was no change in that. He saw a look exchanged from Fire to Ice, before both gazes settled on him once more. It was when he brought up the matter of what he expected from them, that Fire exploded. She snarled and jumped to her feet, nothing less than what Stolz had expected. The brute slowly stood on his own four paws, but did not move. "Clearly I have overstepped my boundaries," he said quietly, and was met by the sheer anger of the Fire Queen. Stolz glanced over at Ice, who's own teeth were bared and his hackles were raised. Stolz showed no signs of anger, but kept a calm expression on his face. He braced himself for the words of the Alpha's, not moving a muscle.
"And just what makes you think that I need you to sort out my pack's problems? Why should my wolves ask for your blessing on their courtship? Should they not ask of Eperna instead? As for presenting my pups to your royal highness, I find that hard to back up with any evidence of necessity. Why does it matter to you how my pack grows and matures?"
Stolz felt his own anger snap, but he did not act on it. He closed his eyes and gave himself a few heartbeats to compose himself before he opened them again, green meeting blue. "As I said before, you do not have to bring forward all your packs problems. You could bring none forward if you wished so. I am not here to overthrow you," he repeated, feeling it was important to do so. "If there is a minor problem that you simply do not wish to take care of, send the wolves to me or my Queen. That was all I was saying. Even if you yourselves have questions to ask me, do not shy away from asking them. As for courtship, they may pray to Eperna all they want. I am not saying that that should stop. I would like to know how the packs are fairing, that is all. If they don't want to come and ask, fine, let it be so. But I would find it respectful that they do," From what she said about the pups, he nodded his head slowly. "I can see where you are coming from, Alphess, but am I asking too much? I did not come here to challenge your pride, or your pack. From all the things that I could have asked for, does it not seem reasonable? There had never been full peace in these lands! Much blood has been spilled and I wish only to keep a tally on what pack has which wolves."
His eyes them shifted, looking at her mate. Did he have anything to say on the matter? When he offered none he looked back at the raging female, just in time to hear her spit out a challenge. Stolz fur stood on end, and his lips twitched in a want to bare his cuspids. He did no such thing, but instead forced himself to find his seat in the snow once more. "I have no doubt about you're forces of an Alpha, and I do not wish to challenge you. I wish for no blood to be spilled, and I do not doubt that you would be more than a worthy adversary. Please, no challenge," The Alphess spoke her name then, her voice soft and sweet. He blinked back his surprise, careful not to show it on his face. It was then that another male appeared, speaking to the Fire Queen first, then to Stolz himself. As his words he snorted softly, shaking his head. "I do not wish to fight your lady's wraith, I came here to talk, not fight," with his last words he locked eyes with the blue eyed one, then turned his attention to the Alpha male as he spoke.
The colourful brute barked a short laugh at the words of the male. "In fact I expected retaliation. Yes, I may have wished for none, but you and your lady have quite the reputation. I came here fully expecting resistance, although I will not lie and say that Kasimira did not surprise me," He looked at the female then, respect glittering in his green eyes. He had much respect for this female now, both her and her mate. They were true leaders, and they stood up for their pack without second thought. "I can tell that you were born to lead Kasimira, as was I. We are both natural born leaders, although I am no match to your fiery words."
