Scabir
Scabir had heard the whispers.
Whispers, apparently, of a new King. A King who was laying claim to the country, A King who planned to take everything. The rumors enraged some. Confused others. Amused Scabir. Personally, he was...curious. He wanted to see what this infamous King was all about. If he was as notorious as everyone said he was. Call Scabir masochistic with the way he went looking for trouble, but honestly, it was probably true. Besides, if he didn't look for trouble, trouble found him.
Once again, Scabir found himself in a forest. He seemed to gravitate towards them lately, seemingly always picking through brambles and bushes. It agitated him, in a way, but on this partciular day, the very masculine scent clinging to the trees only excited Scabir. If it was the King he was looking for, it certainly smelled as if he had found him.
Picking up his pace, Scabir began to trot anxiously through the trees, wondering where he would find this mysterious King. Before Scabir knew it, he was sprinting, weaving around the trees, leaping wildly over brambles. He wasn't sure what he was doing; drawing attention to himself? Seeing how this dreaded King would react to him leaping blindly through his lands? Well, Scabir would just have to wait around and see.
Eventually, Scabir came to an abrupt halt, sending dirt and leaves flying as his sides heaved. He glanced around before finally growing fed up with his game, throwing his head back and letting a howl slide between his teeth. It filled the silence, echoing, making Scabir nearly positive that he would be heard. When he had finished, he lowered his head. And then he waited.
Sitting back on his rump, he huffed, beginning to pick at his fur with his teeth. He always had been a bit...demanding and impatient, which wasn't always a positive thing for a Freior when faced by a Dominor. In fact, Dominors seemed to take it personally when anyone tried to pull rank with them. Scabir found it funny to push their buttons, but that had gotten him into a fair share of fights in his day.
So how would this King react to Scabir? His curiosity was practically killing him, and Scabir shifted nervously, glancing around. Where the hell was he?

His plans had succeeded. Wolves near and wide knew that he was the King of Ravensbruck. It hadn't taken long, he'd gone from nothing to this in only a few moons. This is what he was working his tail off to get. The work wasn't done yet, he still needed to talk to a few of the Alpha's and lay down a couple more laws. Oh how he itched to ban Sklavin, but he knew that that would cause major retaliation. Shaking his head the large brute carried on, almost complete with the patrol of his border. His scent was strong, he made sure they were. His scent floated around him, coating the inside of his nostrils. This was his land.
A new scent met his nose, his body snapping to attention. There was another male on his lands, one that did not belong here. A growl rose in his throat and he melted into the undergrowth, following the smell of the brute. He slunk after him, sticking to the shadows and remaining quiet. He wanted to see what this one was doing in his lands. As soon as he caught up to him he took off, racing deeper into the forest. Growling softly he took after him, diving into the bushes when he saw him skid to a stop. His green eyes peaked out from among the leaves, narrowing as he studied the wolf. He didn't seem threatening, more like he was looking for someone; him. Standing at his full height Stolz waltzed over to the stranger.
His tail was raised high, as well as his head as he parted his maw to speak. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you for entering my lands." His voice was not cold or angry, mostly amused with an under tone of menace. He was demeaning respect, but not out right yelling at him. "Tell me who you are and what your purpose is in my lands." From what the King could tell this one did not belong to any pack, there was no pack musk clinging to his fur. His head tilted in curiosity, what could he want? Was he here to join his ranks, or was he simply curious? Well, curiosity killed the cat, and could easily get this male into trouble. With a heaving sigh he waited for the wolf to speak.
When Stolz walked up he noticed that the male had been shifting around. Was he scared? With a quick sniff of the air he knew that his thought was untrue. He did not smell of fear. Then what could he want? He was dying to know, not many had the courage to wander into these parts.

Scabir
Just when Scabir began to think that perhaps this infamous King wouldn't show his face, he found himself practically nose to nose with another wolf.
He was large, his coat a mixture of what seemed to be every color. His eyes were a shining, vibrant green, and while he didn't exactly appear angry, it was obvious by his words that he was not playing around. But who would be pleased to find some stranger parading around their terrority as if he hadn't a care in the world? Scabir himself wouldn't be too happy with it. Did that make him a hypocrite? Hm. Oh, well.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you for entering my lands."
Scabir smirked, a slight twist of his maw that would have appeared to be a grimance had it not been for the amused gleam in his eyes. For a short moment he was quiet, considering. "You would have every right to, being completely honest. In fact, I can't come up with a reason why you shouldn't," Scabir said finally, tail flicking back and forth as he got to his feet. He cocked his head to one side, looking the wolf over. So this was the King. He certainly was demanding, but Scabir had expected that much. Instead of feeling afraid, Scabir felt almost...giddy.
"Tell me who you are and what your purpose is in my lands."
Scabir laughed, a short, harsh back that ended in a slight rasp. "My purpose? Well, that might be a difficult one." He paused, glancing up towards the trees above him as he thought. Why was he here? He had heard of the King, and had blindly rushed towards where his lands were whispered to reside. So what had it been? Curiousity? He supposed.."Well, I'm thinkin' it's because I heard about your little invasion and decided that it was a nice change. Nice that someone stirred up some trouble. Or maybe it was because I just wanted to see if you were as nefarious as everyone claims."
He stopped there, temporarily forgetting that the wolf had asked for his name. Then, suddenly shaking his head, he grinned in a form that mimicked a shy smile, as if to say, 'oops!' "Oh, excuse me. My name. That would be Scabir." So, there. Now this King knew who he was, and why he had come barging into his terrority. How would he feel about that? Would he truly attempt to kill Scabir? In all honesty, he might. But that didn't seem to bother Scabir one bit.
"So what about you, Your Highness? What shall I call you?"

This was certainly a curious sort of male. He smirked at his comment, eyes glittering at him. Huh... A strange one indeed. He seemed to take his sweet time to respond to what Stolz had said. It wasn't exactly a conversation starter, but he had intruded on his land. Everyone knew that this male was prone to harming others who took a casual la-de-da to his border markings, but still this one had walked straight past them. There had to be reason behind his antics, he didn't come here for mere sport.
"You would have every right to, being completely honest. In fact, I can't come up with a reason why you shouldn't.
Stolz ears twitched at the brutal honesty in this one's voice. The brute gave him a look over, giving him time to think of something to say back to that. In all honesty he was baffled, almost to the point of no words. But they came anyways, they always did. This wolf liked to talk. "I admire your honesty. That itself is a reason why I should not strike you down." With a slight nod of his head he snapped his maw shut, waiting for the answer to his other questions. This wolf before him didn't seem to be the chatty type, in fact he mostly kept to himself. Stolz found himself becoming more and more interested in this one.
The laughter that reached his ears was different than most he heard. It was almost as if there was no humor in it, or like this one didn't intend humor with it. He gave a short answer before pausing once more to think of his answer. Well, he had said that it would be a difficult question for him to answer. Then why be here in the first time? That is what he really wanted to know. When he finally spoke again, the brute was rewarded by a burst of laughter from Stolz. He calmed himself, shaking his head slowly. "You certainly are an interesting wolf. Could it be that you came here to join my ranks? If that is so than I am afraid that I have more questions for you, and a few rules." He met eyes with the other creature, a hint of humor dancing in the green pools. He wanted this wolf in his pack, he made him laugh, a rare thing indeed.
When the wolf finally spoke his name, Stolz nodded. Scabir, a name he had not heard before. A small smile spread the wolf's lips, teeth flashing in the light. "Well Scabir, welcome to my humble abode." When Scabir asked what he should call him, addressing him by Your Highness, he barked another short laugh. "Well I do like the ring of Your Highness, but imagine trying to wheeze out that name when something terrible has happened and you are trying to call me after a long run. No, you may call me Stolz." Giving the wolf another up and down, he felt his raised tail wag a few times in a friendly greeting. Interesting indeed...

Scabir
"I admire your honesty. That itself is a reason why I should not strike you down."
Well, huh. Scabir couldn't say that didn't surprise him. It wasn't often that wolf with some morals came along, that was for sure. Scabir wasn't even sure if he himself had morals anymore, now that he thought about it. Not that he was complaining about the King's decision to spare his life. Scabir most certainly wasn't. In fact, the King didn't seem like the type of brute that Scabir would commonly confront or mess with. Maybe, he thought, I should watch my step. I don't know anything about him.
He had barely finished the thought when a burst of laughter from the brute made Scabir's ears twitch and flick. So the King found him funny, did he? Well, judging by the amusement in his eyes he did. Usually, one was either extremely offended or extremely amused by Scabir's bone dry sense of humor. Scabir was glad that for once, the King was the latter.
"You certainly are an interesting wolf. Could it be that you came here to join my ranks? If that is so than I am afraid that I have more questions for you, and a few rules."
Had Scabir wandered into the land with the intentions of joining the King's ranks? Well, not necessarily. The thought may have crossed his mind a few times, but he'd known nothing about the King at the time, aside from what he had heard. He hadn't truly considered it. But now, standing before the male with the startling green eyes, Scabir reconsidered. He wasn't so bad, really. What it all came down to was what this King was hoping to achieve, however.
Scabir was jerked out of his thoughts by the sound of the brute speaking again, and he quickly listened up as he finally introduced himself as Stolz. It was much easier than constantly referring to him as 'the King' in his head, Scabir thought.
"Well, nice to meet you, Stolz," Scabir said, before hurrying on to his next sentence. "Joining your ranks is an option, I must admit. But of course, just as you said, there are some things that should be discussed first, as much as I hate formal business. I suppose I should ask you what the rules are, and what it is you need to know about me."
He paused then, considering. He was drawn back to the realization that he knew very little about Stolz or his movement. He didn't know which rumors were true and which were not. In fact, Scabir could not make heads, nor tails, of the situation. It agitated him, in a way, not knowing what was going on. Scabir wasn't entirely fond of being left out of the loop.
"I'll answer your questions, if you answer one of mine. I'd simply like to know what it is you're working to achieve."

Stolz was still slightly baffled by this brutes honesty, telling him that there was no reason for him not to attack him. Most wolves would say 'cause I'm awesome,' or something like that. But this one told him that there was no reason. A smile stretched from ear to ear, if Scabir wanted to join his ranks he would be happy to converse with this one daily. He was positive that they would always have interesting conversations.
There seemed to be a happy gleam in Scabir's eyes when Stolz laughed. Was he not use to hearing one of his position laugh? It was true that many of the Alpha's in this land were strict and unforgiving. This male was more flexible, although he was quicker to attack intruders on his land. He had already posed his question asking if this male wanted to join his ranks, and he waited again for his reply. He didn't mind that, it meant that he was a critical thinker. He needed more of those wolves in his pack, they were few and far between. He needed steady heads and good thinkers, not just wolves who jumped into a fray before looking over the situation. With this brute he would stand back and ponder the best move possible to win.
Pleasantries were exchanged, Stolz nodding his head as he said it was nice to meet him. He heard this often and it was passed on from wolf to wolf night and day. With every meeting those words were said. It wasn't long before Scabir was speaking again, his ears flickering to attention. He nodded his head at the brutes words, his eyes calculating. "Yes, it is something that needs to be done. I would need to know where you came from before here and what position you held. Also, I would need to know what skills you posses so that I may then determine what rank you shall hold within my pack," Pausing for a moment, he saw that the wolf had more to say.
"I'll answer your questions, if you answer one of mine. I'd simply like to know what it is you're working to achieve."
His words shocked him, he had never before been asked that question before one wished to join his ranks. Nodding his head slowly once more, he weighed his words. There were many reasons, and they were all jumbled in his head. "I am working to achieve a hold over these lands, not just for the power. As you know I did not come here and demand that all the Alpha's step down and I would take over all their packs. No, I guess I am here to control and keep peace; to build a better world for all these wolves. There is always disputes between alpha's, but now I can easily settle them to maintain peace and lower the harm that come to the wolves in these lands," That was good enough, he didn't know what else to say. That would have to do for now.

Scabir
"Yes, it is something that needs to be done. I would need to know where you came from before here and what position you held. Also, I would need to know what skills you posses so that I may then determine what rank you shall hold within my pack,"
Ah, his past. Scabir should have known that Stolz would ask about that. Well, his past wasn't very impressive, to say the least. But it wasn't anything that he refused to share, either. Scabir had come a long way since then. He grinned and nodded to Stolz, waiting to see if he would answer Scabir's questions first before he went on. He did, and Scabir listened intently as Stolz told him that he was basically here to keep the peace.
Interesting, Scabir thought. He wondered how the Alphas of the packs were reacting to this. Were they accepting it calmly, going along with it for the sake of peace? Ha! Scabir snorted, shaking his head just slightly. He hadn't met any of the Alphas as of yet, but he had heard of them, and he could only imagine how they were taking the news. Stolz had his work cut out for him, it seemed. But still, strangely, Scabir felt a slight yearning to join Stolz ranks. The King was just proving to be so very interesting..
"Interesting," Scabir quipped, echoing his earlier thoughts. "Well, that's not nearly as bad as some of the things I've heard. Wolves around here apparently like to be dramatic."
He paused then, shifting his weight. "I'll stop wasting time and tell you what you want to know now. I came from a little pack, pretty far off from here. My parents weren't very high rankings. They weren't Omegas or anything like that. Just regular pack members, I suppose, so we were just regular pups. I was the only pup to survive from my litter, because we were all weak when we were young. A lot has changed since then, though."
He grinned, proud that he was no longer the light, thin creature that he had been when he was young. Hoping that his answer had been good enough for Stolz, he began to think of the second part of the King's question. Skills. What was he good at?
"You've probably noticed I'm a bit of a thinker by now. I like to consider things before I take action, which I suppose is a good thing. Fighting has never really been my forte, I'm not as bulky or muscular as some. I suppose my biggest strength is my speed. Since I'm more on the slender side, I get around pretty quickly. I've always enjoyed hunting because of that."
Satisfied with his own answer, Scabir nodded, watching Stolz expectantly. He could only wonder where he would be placed in the pack rankings, should Stolz choose to accept him. Which, surprisingly, Scabir truly hoped he would.

A smile spread across Stolz face, his tail wagging slowly back and forth. Yet another member for his pack. He listened to his words, his ears perked forward in interest. He knew that rumors were spreading around about him, most bad, some good. He had quite a reputation. With a small chuckle he stepped forward, brushing his head across his shoulder. He was picking up his scent, memorizing it, as well as placing some of his scent on him. He was not trying to claim him, but was placing the packs smell on him.
When Scabir talked about where he was from, Stolz nodded his head slowly. "Well her have certainly bulked up since then. I am glad to see that you have made it this far. As far as your skills, you seem to fit the description of a Freiherr well. They are the eyes of the pack and patrol the border. You have to be sneaky and quick, and at times I may ask a Freiherr to carry a message to the pack Alpha's. You could work your way up to head Freiherr if you prove yourself. Welcome to Koravelle, Scabir." With a wag of his tail he began to walk away, showing the male the way back to camp. This was his home now. He would show him the border lines and what points he would have to visit more than the others.
With a happy bark Stolz took off, wagging his tail as he sprinted along the border. His smell was mixing with the newest member of his packs. Pausing, he lifted his maw and howled, letting everyone know that they had a new member join their ranks. Today was a happy day, his pack was getting bigger. Stolz looked over his shoulder, glancing at the brute behind him. A large smile was on his maw, almost acting like a pup as he showed the new one the limits of his land.
