"That Kasimira, how'd she know I wanted a boy toy too. Of course you can join my harem. Name's Zy, if you didn't catch that earlier."
Kyren’s first instinct was to go and rip out the black wolf’s throat for the insult. His lips pulled back, a soft snarl rising up in the pit of his throat, his ears flicked back to lie plastered against his skull, red fur bristling and his amber eye’s turning to slits, the one good eye focused on Zy. A few seconds of hard agitated breathing followed and then he huffed, shaking his coat out to try and relax the muscles that had trembled in desire to teach the fool his place. “I was told there would be three wolves here; however I was not informed one was an overgrown puppy.” With that his attention turned for a moment to the other wolf that had just arrived and looked her over assessingly for a moment, then his gaze toward the female that spoke to him.
"If you want to rest your paws on some dry ground, the middle den is currently where we sleep." "Did our lady mention when she would return to either of you?"
“I see. You seem a bit nervous, do not fear, since you belong to the lady I will make sure you stay safe. Now considering the intelligence of your friend, shall I assume that lady Kasimira left you in charge of that one.” He shifted his muzzle just the slightest bit towards Zy then faced her again. “My name is Kyren. She did not offer the information of when she would return, and so I did not ask.” His tone was not much different than a wolf educating a bunch of troublesome pups. “You mentioned a place we could find dry ground, yet you did not make it sound you were going back there. Tell me, what is it you are up to” and now his tone shifted to turn a bit kinder, “and if I might ask, how did you end up in the Lady’s service? How long have you been sklavin’s?” Best to get them use to answering him now. Kyren’s head was occasionally shifting a bit from left to right, feeling a constant urge to make sure nothing was sneaking up on him. He did agree with Calliope, he would like to know when the alpha would be returning, mostly because he had a feeling she would be far better company than these three, even if it did mean dealing with her reminders of his new position in life. Calli appeared to lack confidence in herself, Matrid would have to be watched for a while but being Sklavin was against her and Zy, well he might as well still be a six week old pup. The only reason he had not attacked the black wolf was he hadn’t been sure how the alpha would have felt. It’s possible she would have accepted it as setting up a basic system of dominance, or it could have been attacking what belonged to her. Best to learn the rules as soon as possible, or gain his freedom as soon as possible.

At least someone wasn't a total stick in the mud, unlike the rest of the motley crew headed temporarily by the princess of fun-sucking, Calliope. Matrid was officially his new favorite out of them all. Then again, he'd only just met her. For all Zy knew she could end up being worse than Calli, but he didn't think it was possible. However annoying the male found the current fake leader, he had to admit she was very much needed. There had to be a source of reason to combat his own lapses in logic and even the stalling resolve of the scrawny female was a useable method. She also seemed to have the ability to be used as a mediator that most likely would not turn on him with violence or rage, unlike what the male before him was displaying.
"I was told there would be three wolves here; however I was not informed one was an overgrown puppy.”
It was utterly amusing to Zy to see how easily flustered the red male was. He went into full out rage mode, complete with bristling fur, terrifying snarling, and his eye almost disappearing within some squinty face. If it took one sentence to create this, the ashen male would have his work cut out for him seeing how quickly he could push the other over the edge. The display hardly triggered the fear instilling response that was probably intended. A stupid grin worked its way across Zy's muzzle at his infuriated state, directing it at Matrid.
"Chicks dig puppies."
As soon as the rage came it appeared to dissipate, followed by a barrage of words that sounded akin to the incoherent yammerings found in The Peanuts. He introduced himself as Kyren, but kept on talking long after he should have stopped. This guy had more of an ego than Zy did. Contained within his monologue was a multitude of questions voiced in a rather accusingly superior tone at Calliope. The fae obviously was just trying to be cordial, but the male's overly domineering personality took it as something more sinister. Its like he was trying to prove a point; a point that for some odd reason pissed Zy off.
This male was acting as if he was the new queen. No way was he letting some pompously smug bastard get too comfortable here in the lands of his last hope for survival. Kasimira had certainly not placed this arrogant fool in charge. By him usurping her designated fill-in in such a manner was in fact disobeying the fae's direct orders in a sense. Although never much for sheer logic, manipulating actions was a honed skill Zy prized. He'd get someone to put him in his place, among the poppers, like the sklavin he was.
Donning his cloak of scheming power, the shifty male began the process of formulating the storyline to his newest ill-fated creation. The best cover-up was to hinder the other's cognate focus in some way, and what better way than to be blinded by rage. Kyrsin's short temper towards Zy would be his own Achilles's heel, but he wouldn't use this strategy entirely unless he was more sure of the Law's whereabouts, in case he was set to receive more than just a simple flesh wound. Snorting to relieve some of his pent up tension, Zy allowed his words to take on an indistinguishably vague tone.
"The girl offers you some hospitality and you thank her with the third degree?" He frowned. "Kasimira put her in charge for a reason. You really wanna start doubting the Queen's judgement now?"
It was all the male could do to keep a straight face, but he managed to keep his composure all the way down to a slight flicker of irritation through his golden-hued eyes. His display could be taken as defending Calliope, which in a sense it was, but that wasn't the true cause. He'd rather have the tame faes on his side than the male that needed to get thrown off his high horse.
ooc;; HURRAAAY first post at camp. lol. 8I But its only the first day.

MATRID
*
"If you want to rest your paws on some dry ground, the middle den is currently where we sleep."
Matrid turned her head towards the dens that Calliope spoke of, looking them over and nodding. None of the others had moved for them, however, so she stayed put. While it would have been nice to be on dry land, she didn't exactly mind where she was, either. She had always been a fan of rain, loving the way the air smelled when it had passed. The wet grass under her feet tickled her paw pads, and it generally put her in a nicer mood.
"Did our lady mention when she would return to either of you?" Poor Calliope seemed desperate to be rid of her leadership responsibility, and Matrid felt a pang of sympathy for her. She would have felt the same way had she been in Calliope's position. Especially with two seemingly show-offy males in the mix. Matrid figured she wasn't making things better, either, by adding another wolf to look afterwards. She'd at least try to be tolerable for Calliope's sake.
Before she could respond to the she-wolf, a snarl suddenly rippled from Kyren and he puffed up like a blowfish at Zy's words. She found herself jumping, turning wide eyes to the brute as he growled out a response. “I was told there would be three wolves here; however I was not informed one was an overgrown puppy.” Ah, conflict. Stick two males together and it was bound to happen, it seemed. It baffled Matrid a bit, but she supposed that females were the exact same way sometimes. With the males, she assumed it was dominance in this case. Kyren did seem quite dominant for a slave, and Matrid could tell Zy wasn't the lie-down-and-take-it type of brute.
Kyren was speaking now, a lot at that, introducing himself and generally talking down to Calliope, as well as the rest of them. Feeling a little pang in her stomach, Matrid's eyes narrowed and she moved a tad bit closer to Calliope, her ears tipped forward, listening to Kyren. When he finished talking, Matrid turned her dark eyes to Calliope, shaking her head. "She said nothing to me about when she would return, either. She simply gave me instructions on how to get here and then was on her way." Matrid said with a little shrug. She, too, hoped that Kasimira would return soon.
"Chicks dig puppies." This came from Zy, and Matrid couldn't help but smile a little. He seemed easy going, and Matrid could appreciate that in such a tense time. "Puppies are adorable." She chimed in. Not that she was saying Zy was adorable. Or was she? She'd let him assume what he would. The important thing at this point was getting along with the others, or so she thought. She didn't want to end up bickering like Zy and Kyren were now. She definitely didn't want to let them glimpse her horrid temper, as she fully intended to keep it in check. Or, at least she would try to.
Zy's next words spoken rang true, and Matrid turned to look at Calliope again. There had to be a reason for Kasimira leaving the she-wolf in charge, and Matrid trusted her Queen's judgement. She shifted even closer to Calliope, presenting a friendly smile. She felt...relieved that she wasn't the only female here, especially with two irritated males. Agitation flickered in Zy's gaze, and as Matrid looked from one wolf to the other, she thought that it would be very interesting indeed to see how the whole ordeal turned out.
"If you two are going to rip each other apart, give me and poor Calliope fair warning." She said, keeping her tone light and non-confrontational.

Calliope Calliope decided that Kyren scared her. While Zy seemed to enjoy ruffling Kyren's feathers and Matrid seemed to think the whole thing was silly, Calliope would have crumpled in fear if he directed his anger toward her. His eye unnerved her. It didn't focus like the right one and she could swear it was following her every move, though it probably stayed stationary. She wasn't sure how she felt about him assuming the role to protect her; it was a bit suspicious to take that position for a fae he'd only just met. Still, she would rather have him on her side than against it.
Both he and Matrid failed to provide the information she was hoping to get. "Oh, it really doesn't matter." She was assuring herself as much as them. Kasimira will be along soon, she told herself. Even in her mind it sounded more like a wish than a fact.
"Tell me, what is it you are up to?"
Calliope froze. How does he know? She frantically searched her memories of her conversation with Zy, trying to pick out and strange noises or movements that would have placed Kyren there. Would he tell Kasimira? Would he hold it over their heads like blackmail? Quickly, Calliope decided the best route was denial, until he betrayed the extent of his knowledge. "I'm not--we aren't--I never . . . Well, this is going swimmingly.
Zy saved her, jumping in to point out the rudeness of Kyren's questions. With the copper male no longer focused on her, Calliope was happy to leave her defense up to Zy. She noticed Matrid smiling at her and felt guilty for not giving her a better welcome. Cal smiled back when the larger femme tried to diffuse the situation. Matrid was swiftly becoming a helpful ally and, giving enough time, perhaps a friend. Calliope's heart leaped in her chest. It was a wonderful feeling knowing they both came to her rescue, knowing they wanted to help her.
"I can't imagine Lady Kasimira would be very pleased if she returned and two of her hand-picked slaves were ripped to shreds by one another." It was a passive argument, but she hoped some small bit of reason would see the truth in her words.
The world grew a bit brighter as the clouds shifted, revealing the hazy image of the sun shining behind a thin layer of cloud. It was much lower in the sky than Calliope would have thought, though her mistress' departure seemed like a distant memory. Birds were singing again and all manner of creatures driven into their holes by the thunder would be out and about now.
"We should have a meal waiting for her in case she returns tonight." Calliope mentioned it lightly, almost as if she were talking to herself. Which she may have been, for there was no guarantee that anyone would listen to her. "There's nothing stored here, so we'll have to hunt if we want to eat anyway." Because of Calliope's poor hunting skills and her meager experience hunting in the meadow, she was leaning heavily on the fact that the others would want to hunt alone. Besides, without an Alpha, they had no one to coordinate a pack effort.

Sklavins! Why did he get stuck with them? Ah, the irony’s of life. These thoughts flickered through Kyren’s mind and as he watched the threesome interact. What added on to the irritation was not being sure how many of these wolves he could currently fight and win. If he still had perfect vision he’d be confident in victory against these Sklavin. However, for all that he might as well say ‘if he was twice their size’ being that was just as likely to happen as regaining sight in his bad eye.
Chicks dig puppies." "Puppies are adorable."
Why the she-wolf felt like acknowledging Zy was a mystery to Ky as so far she showed signs of being worth more than the other two sklavins. The only reaction he gave Zy to that comment was a flick of an ear in his direction, as much attention as he gave an irritating fly earlier. Be cute to see how well those two got along in a week or two, whether it be the female coming to her senses and seeing Zy for the nuisance he was or got along with him better so that perhaps they’d be looking into little puppy sklavins. Of course, it could always stay neutral.
Calliope was still going to stay the main focus for Kyren, she was the easiest to get answers from, whether it by from words or reactions to his own words. He took a step closer to her, focusing his good eye on her eyes, and would have continued walking up to her until Zy had to go and open his mouth again. Oh, how he wanted to teach this male his place!
"The girl offers you some hospitality and you thank her with the third degree?" \ "Kasimira put her in charge for a reason. You really wanna start doubting the Queen's judgement now?"
“Zy, do not think to tell me my place.” His gaze swept over to the black wolf, amber eyes glaring at him and again that red coat bristling. For what it was worth, at least he wasn’t snarling this time. “Perhaps she put her in charge of you, perhaps she is in charge of Matrid?” A slight question to the last part as he wasn’t sure since Matrid just arrived what her exact orders were. “However, I was only told that I would find three wolves. The lady never told me I had to obey anyone, other than herself of course.”
Ky exhaled deeply, again trying to keep himself calm, but it was so hard after all, he’d had a really lousy last few days. “I come here, find one wolf that is immature, one that is obviously self conscious, and another that has not taken any charge over the two of you. So, I am only doing what needs doing. If my lady finds fault with this, that is up to her.” ‘His lady,’? Was Kyren showing possession over the alpha?
With that out of the way, back to Calliope. She’d been scared of something when he’d questioned what they were doing. He hadn’t known what to expect when he’d asked, but this fear she showed was fascinating. Once again he was the calm wolf with the assessing gaze, and once again he seemed to have forgotten the other wolves’ presence. “You aren’t? You’re not? Not what? Have you not heard, admitting one’s guilt can free the conscious.” Were they running away? It didn’t seem likely when they still cared about what the alpha thought but then again they had asked when she was returning. Did they want her back sooner, or did they hope she didn’t come back all that soon? Calliope’s disheartened response in not finding out could sway either way.
"If you two are going to rip each other apart, give me and poor Calliope fair warning." "I can't imagine Lady Kasimira would be very pleased if she returned and two of her hand-picked slaves were ripped to shreds by one another."
Now a smirk appeared on Kyren’s face. He seemed to take the female’s way of phrasing thing better than Zy’s, or perhaps it was tolerated better since they were females. This time Matrid seemed to finally get Kyren’s attention. “That is the only reason I decided not to teach Zy manners when he first insulted me. I will not injure the lady’s property until I speak with her about how things are to work, unless I believe it necessary and believe I could make her see that as well.” His gaze flicked over to Zy’s for a moment before looking back at Matrid, “Thank you for your advice,” there was a bit of dark amusement in the tone, but at least it wasn’t showing his aggressive side.
Again back to the one easily intimidate, walking the rest of the way to sit directly in front of her, that bushy red and black tipped tail flicking behind him, “Talk to me of what you were doing, tell me of where you were before belonging to the lady, and how long you have served her.” Yup, that eye that intimidated her was now only inches away. Her comment on hunting for the moment ignored. It wasn’t a bad idea, but not until he’d accomplished his goals, and he doubted the female would have the courage to break his gaze.

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
Zy was a fairly even tempered wolf when compared to most males, taking large amount of prodding to display any outward signs of aggression, but Kyren was managing to bend the calm male past his placid breaking point. Every word etched into the air by this brute clawed at his ears, wearing away the covering of tolerance he wore. Insults, cocky remarks, even threats, Zy was perfectly fine with in normal circumstances, but the copper male's way of voicing them was with such a sickeningly superior tone it hit a rather tender nerve. He could feel his frustration slipping slowly out from beneath its protective shielding.
“Zy, do not think to tell me my place.”
Bitch did not just say that. He was irritated. No, that didn't even begin to cover the amount of pure rage that flowed from his clenched jaws. Tell him his place? Please. He was about to get it slammed in his smug, screwed up, ugly-ass face. An unintentional snarl that was of such raw fury, even Zy was inwardly shocked, broke its way through. He couldn't recall the last time so much anger had expressed itself in him, and it grew with each thing Kyren said. Matrid and Calliope's suggestions of peace fell on deaf ears at this point. Caution was of his last concern as the dormant emotion chose his fate.
"Goddamn it do you ever shut up? I mean really. You complain about how fucking immature I am, when here you are harassing wolves that haven't shown the slightest bit of a threat." Each word was spat out with such harshness and movement it was a wonder the male was speaking instead of stringing the entire rant together in a mangled version of snarling. "You're trying to put yourself above us, but that's the problem, you're nothing here, like me. So get used to it. I've had scarier brutes try to teach me "manners". Go ahead. Bite me. Just try to put me in my place. I'll be happy to drag you to hell with me."
Although his body showed no trace of this hostility, aside from his unusually sharp movements, all one had to look at his face and the narrow slits of amber would be all the proof needed. They were locked on Kyren's, smoldering, as if by staring at him long enough flames would transfer to his already red hued pelt. That male was upsetting the natural balance Zy so desperately needed in his life. Sklavin would be sklavin, and if you wanted to change that then go right ahead, but don't involve him. Kyren had no right to speak down to him like that; no slave in this pack ever would. Unlike that brute, the ashen male didn't see himself as better than any of those around him, nor were they higher. Respect was made, earned through hard work, and needed no explanation. Kyren didn't deserve it, and never would.
Not waiting to hear what this infuriating male had to say he turned with a snarl. Zy recalled hearing Calliope mutter something about hunting before Kasimira returned. She really needed to speak up more. Any opportunity to get away from the other male was welcome at this point, and this area suited his hunting style near perfectly. Being unable to take down large prey because of lacking the necessary bulk, smaller animals such as rabbit or birds were more his style, and this long meadow grass was perfect for slinking undetected through. He needed to get out and run.
"I think I'll take Calli up on her idea. I'll be around."
And with that curt statement Zy was off. They could follow if any of them didn't trust him not to bolt; he didn't care much at this point. He half hoped the timid wolf who suggested the event would feel the obligation to act as his charge as a way of escaping Kyren's constant badgering. Depriving that wolf of anything and everything he wanted was now number one on his list. That guy was really unbearable.
ooc;; SO. Language, I tried to keep it tame. |D;; Zy's bad with that. His dramatic exit <3 Such a diva. lol. I figure he'd leave now, and go off in some other part of this area, or something to go vent, unless anyone had a better idea. xD I'll maybe get the thread up later. 8I I'm way past unfocused now. lol.

MATRID
*
Calliope seemed to be warming up to her, and that made Matrid happy. Calliope wasn't bristling and snarling at others. Instead she was sitting calmly, almost nervously, reflecting the way that Matrid herself felt. "I can't imagine Lady Kasimira would be very pleased if she returned and two of her hand-picked slaves were ripped to shreds by one another." Matrid smiled, glad that Calliope had agreed. The last thing Matrid wanted to see was these two go at it. From the looks of it, they were all talk for the moment, but she was still on the cautious side. If they did decide they'd had enough of enough other, nothing she or Calliope said would be able to stop it. So for now, she simply hoped.
The sun peaked out from behind the clouds, warming the she-wolf as she lifted her head slightly, muzzle pointed towards the bright blue sky. She took a moment to simply enjoy it, her eyes fluttering closed and her breathing deep, inhaling the sweet scent of recent rain. That is, until Kyren's voice had her eyes snapping open again.
"“Zy, do not think to tell me my place.” Well that wasn't going to go over well. “Perhaps she put her in charge of you, perhaps she is in charge of Matrid? However, I was only told that I would find three wolves. The lady never told me I had to obey anyone, other than herself of course.” Matrid cringed. Kyren seemed to be growing more agitated as he spoke, and she could feel the tension thrumming in the air. She backed away a bit, her dark eyes watching the two intently.
When he went on to describe the three of them, she bristled. Self conscious? A small growl slid through her maw but she quickly silenced it, attempting to calm herself. She didn't think he'd meant to offend, and she didn't need to get caught up in this mess anyways. He went on to describe the he was only doing what needed to be done, and she smoothed her fur down when he turned to look at her, speaking. She nodded silently to his words about not touching Kasimira's property, not neccessarily agreeing, yet not making any move to disagree, either. Being neutral in this whole situation was proving to be difficult, but damn it, she was going to keep trying.
"Thank you for your advice." She smiled a little, shrugging her shoulders. "Yes, well. I'm not sure what it's worth but I figured I could at least try to diffuse some tension. Even if it didn't work." She said, before going silent, watching as he moved closer to Calliope and therefore closer to herself as well. He began to question Calliope about her past, and Matrid temporarily turned her gaze to Zy, who suddenly exploded, causing her ears to flatten again her skull.
His words were snarling, harsh. It was obvious that Kyren had enraged him, and the sight was frightening. Matrid was silent as he verbally lashed into Kyren, before saying something about Calliope's offer and stalking off. Ah, that was right, Calliope had mentioned hunting. Matrid vaguely remembered hearing it when she had been reveling in the sun, but she hadn't thought to respond.
Now she looked from Kyren to Calliope, shifting nervously. She watched Zy's retreating figure until she couldn't see him anymore, and then once more her dark eyes moved to Calliope, almost as if awaiting instruction.
"Should we...?" She paused, considering her words before giving a nervous little laugh that seemed to lack humor all together. "What should we do is what I'm asking, I suppose."
Tortuga He'd arrived. Tortuga took a long moment to look over the land before he proceeded forward. He had managed to get here with no problem, as the path had certainly been simple enough. Not only was the area here absolutely gorgeous, but he had enjoyed the journey as well. He was still feeling so very blissful, and thoughts of Kasimira had the feeling sticking around. Kasimira. He smiled, pleased at the thought of his new mate. At the moment, thoughts of her were tinged with worry. She had gone to participate in a challenge, which was the only reason he was entering Irrsin alone, and he was worried. Naturally. He had just found the wonderful female, he wouldn't be able to stand anything happening now. Trying to shake the thoughts from his head and failing miserably, the brute trotted forward, pallid colored fur making him very visible indeed as he moved. Not that he cared. He didn't particularly think he had anything to worry about at this moment, for he certainly didn't feel threatened, and so far he hadn't spotted another. Not that he'd ever fully let his guard down, however. That would be a very foolish mistake on his part. His ears were perked forward, azul colored eyes scanning the horizon. Suddenly...there. Wolves in the distance caught his eyes, and he slowed his gait to a slow stroll, his body moving towards them. His eyes never left them as he drew closer, their scents invading his nostrils, chasing out the scent of rain and replacing it with the mingled scents of canines. He made no move to conceal himself, as he was not trying to hide from them, nor spy on them. When he was close enough to see and hear them but not to reach any of them, he halted, tilting his head to the side as he observed them. Two males and two females. The two males seemed to be bickering while the vixen's watched anxiously. One of the brute's, a dark sklavin, was currently telling the other off with very colorful language. Then, without taking any notice of Tortuga, he turned and stalked off, muttering something about "Calli's idea". He assumed 'Calli' was one of the females, and he turned towards the two, assessing them. One was larger, different hues of tans and grays with some black flecked through. The other was an anxious looking female, gray and brown as well, slightly patchy looking. Whether or not these females were considered 'attractive', Tortuga did not consider. Why would he when he had the lovely Kasimira, who's scent he knew must have clung to his milky fur still? He turned his icy gaze to the male then, a lanky, coppery red brute who had been having the altercation with the other. Shaking his fur out slightly, Tortuga moved closer, watching as the larger female's eyes flickered to him, surprise registering in them. No matter. Better he bring everyone else's attention to him as well, sooner than later. He couldn't avoid it forever. Besides, what did he have to be afraid of? "What's that about, then?"
His deep, rich voice held an amused undertone, laced with curiosity as well. He tilted his chin towards the long-gone figure of Zy, snorting softly as he looked at each of the remaining wolves, his gaze finally settling on Kyren. "Get into a bit of a beef with him? He looked downright furious if I do say so myself." He offered no introduction yet, deciding that he would wait for one of them to ask, or perhaps offer the same. [/blockquote]

Calliope Snarls and growls filled the air as Zy and Kyren delivered their angry speeches to each other. Calliope couldn't help but think of how still the meadow was when she first came. Irrsin seemed so peaceful and safe. Once, she thought pack life would be a dream. She would be in a tight-knit community of wolves that supported and cared for one another. In reality, she found a group wolves each with their own agenda, who wanted nothing more than to go for the throat and never let go.
Kyren began to speak with renewed rage that made Calliope listen. She flinched as he spoke of her failure to exercise any authority. He was right; her only attempt to give Zy a command had been a laughingstock. Even at her boldest she would never be able to order someone about. Kasimira must have known she was scraping the bottom of the barrel when she left her in charge, but Zy had just angered her and who else was there?
"I think I'll take Calli up on her idea. I'll be around."
The fae watched helplessly as Zy stalked away. She wanted to call out after him and beg him to stay here, to protect her, but her mouth stayed silent. She knew if he stayed a fight was inevitable, but now she felt vulnerable, like Zy had been a furry wall between her and utter disaster. Kyren seemed to sense her weakness and came face-to-face with her.
“Talk to me of what you were doing, tell me of where you were before belonging to the lady, and how long you have served her.”
Calliope was at a loss for what to do. To return his gaze was to make a threat, but to look away was to admit defeat. The wild creature that stirred in her before was there again, twitching and snorting as if about to wake from its slumber. It stayed asleep, however, and Calliope settled for the compromise of looking through, rather than at, Kyren. While no longer meeting his gaze, she still had not declared herself inferior to him. Still, she could not refuse to answer his questions any longer.
"I came from Auktion Rock," Calliope started, deliberately omitting any mention of her life before that. "Lady Kasimira brought me here a few days ago. I was the first sklavin in Irrsin." It wasn't exactly something to boast about, but Calliope though it might give her a sense of seniority.
"Should we...? What should we do is what I'm asking, I suppose."
Amber eyes sent a strange look in Matrid's direction. After all that, the bulky she-wolf was looking to her for instruction? Calliope assumed that Matrid would abandon all pretense of subordination with Calliope's pitiful attempts at leadership torn to shreds. "I . . ." She forgot the fact that Kyren's face was inches from her own in her confusion. "I guess you could hunt if you wanted to."
Suddenly a male voice spoke. Not the drawl of Zy, or the harsh snap of Kyren, but the lazy tones of someone used to authority. Calliope gaped at him, unsure of his purpose. Then the smell hit her: Kasimira, but it was mixed with a scent faintly familiar. A faint blush trickled up to Calliope's cheeks as she placed it as the oder of a female in heat. She understood that this was not another slave, but her rescuer, here to be a definite authority over them all. She walked past Kyren to stand before the new male, her head bowed and her tail low.
"I believe Lady Kasimira sent you here, sir. Welcome."

. "Yes, well. I'm not sure what it's worth but I figured I could at least try to diffuse some tension. Even if it didn't work."
Kyren bobbed his head in silent assent to her words, “You show wisdom, and know how to state advice without sounding weak or demanding to be heard. Often good traits in a wolf.” The words were said with some genuine compliment to them, even if most of his focus wasn’t on her.
"Goddamn it do you ever shut up? I mean really. You complain about how fucking immature I am, when here you are harassing wolves that haven't shown the slightest bit of a threat." "You're trying to put yourself above us, but that's the problem, you're nothing here, like me. So get used to it. I've had scarier brutes try to teach me "manners". Go ahead. Bite me. Just try to put me in my place. I'll be happy to drag you to hell with me."
Kyren was working on intimidating Calliope, so his response to the rage likely didn’t help Zy’s emotion as he stalked off. His tone was bored, and he never bothered to turn his head away from Calliope, “I know my place, and I had my reasons for all I’ve said.” He didn’t get a good look at Zy leaving, but he could certainly hear him as he stalked off, “Not that I’m overly surprised that one such as him doesn’t understand.” He may have sounded calm but there was an inner rage in his gut, and were it not for his focus on Calliope he probably would have given in to the urge to teach Zy a lesson. Still, he had already warned them of his memory and he would indeed remember the wolfs attitude at a later date. Calling him, Kyren, nothing? That really did hit something in his gut with a mixture of emotions more than just anger, but he didn’t focus on it knowing he wouldn’t like the answer thus bad to think about in public, especially now.
"I think I'll take Calli up on her idea. I'll be around."
Now the worthless male was going off to hunt. Did he want to allow it? He wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore but would Kas be happy with his leaving? Well, if he went after Zy he’d be leaving the two females which didn’t seem to good of an idea either. Best to keep them together here, and far more appealing. Safer also, he wouldn’t get in trouble for ripping out Zy’s throat.
"I came from Auktion Rock," Calliope started, deliberately omitting any mention of her life before that. "Lady Kasimira brought me here a few days ago. I was the first sklavin in Irrsin."
The female was finally answering the question he’d presented to her. He was of course somewhat curious as to what her past was but not very. Mostly he had wanted to make her talk a while to dig deeper into her personality and make sure she’d obey. It was good she was nervous of him, but he didn’t care for her skirting his answer about where she’d come from. Was she that dim or did she think that’s as far back as she meant? Unless the sklavin had spent most her life there. His black tipped tail flicked thoughtfully back and forth, still trying to keep his focus on her and not remember Zy’s words. That wolf would learn his place later! “I see…” his voice was mostly thoughtful, though there was a trickle of anger still in it. He would have commented more, demanded more of an answer but then Matrid spoke up.
"Should we...?" "What should we do is what I'm asking, I suppose."
Calliope managed to divert her attention from Kyren to answer, well that was annoying. He should be her main focus of attention until he was done with her! Kyren’s ears flicked back a moment in agitation, twitching as he listened to Calliope’s answer.
. "I . . ." "I guess you could hunt if you wanted to."
This female had no place being in command that was definite. She showed how unsure she was of everything she said, then basically left the choice up to the sklavin who spoke which made it all the more obvious of how she didn’t want to be responsible for the decision.
A slow sigh as he realized the females with him were not the source of his agitation. In a more tolerant voice he answered, “Do not go too far off since we don’t know when the Lady will be returning, but feel free to hunt if you’d like. It could ease some of the tension,” a bit of dry amusement in his voice there, “and of course would be useful when the Lady returned. If she comes before you are back, one of us can howl to let you know to return prompty.” See? He could explain his reasons when he wanted to.
Kyren would have gone back to getting answers from Calliope but then another male’s voice was heard. How? Damn it! If he couldn’t see as good he could at least be sure to listen for the presence of others. Turning his head about to face the other wolf, he quickly turned his body planning to stand in front of the two females protectively, but that plan was obviously thwarted. What was Calliope thinking? Walking over to the strange male? He could smell Kas’s scent on the male but it was far better to be careful than reckless? Actually should he be surprised? They had pretty much been assuming everyone that came, including himself, was here because of Kas. Just why these wolves needed a leader.
Pivoting his body around, a few quick strides and then he got in between the new male and Calli, head lowered, tail straight out with ears partially pulled back. “Calli, we don’t know why he’s here. He hasn’t told us anything about him. You don’t just randomly trust him regardless of what you smell.” The tone was mixed frustration, and strained tolerance. What really bothered him was to stand in between the two sideways meant that he could see Tortuga, but he could not see much of the two females with his worthless blind eye. “Who are you, and what is your business?” Yah, he could smell Kas’ scent but relationships can start as a good thing and end quite horribly. Deception was a thing some wolves knew well. Kyren's brother was one of those wolves. “You want to know about my business with the other male? I’ll tell you once I’m convinced your no threat to this pack.” Ky lowered himself a bit more, fur bristling, and ready to spring if he didn’t care for the strangers answers.

MATRID
*
Upon catching the odd look that Calliope shot her, Matrid gave a short laugh. Perhaps the others had long ago decided not to listen to Calliope, but Matrid herself was still making an attempt. There had to be a reason for Kasimira leaving her in charge, after all. Not to mentiont that she was sort of starting to like the female. Maybe it was the fact that Matrid had never really been around other fae's. The last ones she had encountered had been harsh with no intention of befriending Matrid. Calliope, however, didn't seen like that type at all. She seemed to want piece as much as Matrid did, although she looked a bit distressed when Zy stalked off.
"I . . .I guess you could hunt if you wanted to."
Kyren sighed then and threw in his own answer, instructing her not too wander too far and offering to howl when Kasimira returned. Matrid nodded and turned, preparing to go when Calliope spoke again, her words causing the she-wolf to halt. "I believe Lady Kasimira sent you here, sir. Welcome." She turned, her expression curious as she peered around Calliope to see who she was referring to.
A large white brute had seemed to have materialized from no where, although Matrid knew he must have approached during all of the fighting and confusion. He had spoken to Zy, but Matrid was too busy studying him to take any real notice of what he had said. He smelled...peculiar. Like Kasimira, for sure, but something else. Calliope moved towards him, offering him a welcome and confirming that Matrid had indeed scented Kasimira on the brute. The other she-wolf moving so close to the new male, however, had seemed to alarm Kyren. He put himself inbetween Calliope, Matrid, and the male, ears back and tail stiff.
“Calli, we don’t know why he’s here. He hasn’t told us anything about him. You don’t just randomly trust him regardless of what you smell.”
Matrid blinked, shuffling closer but not moving past Kyren. It seemed like Calliope had realized something about the male, something Matrid was very clearly missing, but straining her brain wasn't going to do her any good. Besides, Kyren made a good point. They knew absolutely nothing about him. He didn't look threatening, nor did he seem to be acting like he was, but wolves were deceptive creatures. She'd seen it first hand herself.
She continued forward a bit until she was directly behind Kyren and beside Calliope, her tail swaying back and forth and her ears swiveling as she watched the exchange. Hopefully, the male would turn out to be friendly, and when everything had settled, she would be able to hunt. The idea of having food ready for when Lady Kasimira returned appealed to the Sklavin. Who knew how exhausted she might be, or if she would need it?
She shook her head, zoning back in on the conversation as Kyren began to question the male. Hopefully it wouldn't turn into another Ky-Zy incident, but from the way that Kyren was bristling and interrogating the male, it seemed to have the possibility to. Then again, Matrid supposed that it was safer this way. She glanced at Kyren, muttering a quiet "Thank you, Kyren."
Tortuga "I believe Lady Kasimira sent you here, sir. Welcome."This came from the smaller female, and Tortuga turned towards her, nodding his head as she approached him. Before he could even begin to get his wits together to answer, however, the remaining male placed himself in front of the two females, snarling and bristling at Tortuga. The ivory male said nothing, simply smiling coyly as the copper brute reprimanded the kind female for her actions. He watched curiously as the other female, the larger one, stepped closer but made sure to keep behind the suspicious male. She thanked the brute, calling him Kyren, and Tortuga thought it was very interesting indeed to see how they all interacted. “Who are you, and what is your business? You want to know about my business with the other male? I’ll tell you once I’m convinced your no threat to this pack.”Tortuga barked out a laugh, his blue eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well well, you're brave for a sklavin." He said, but his words were neither mocking nor cruel. They were almost lazy as he assessed Kyren, wondering how much he should tell them, and how much he should leave to Kasimira when she returned. "To answer both your question and the female's, Kasimira sent me this way. As for who I am, the name's Tortuga."
He still wasn't entirely sure how much to tell him. Would him not calling Kasimira 'lady' give something away to these wolves, or would it go right over their heads? As he looked from wolf to wolf, his gaze stopped on the one who had welcomed him. There was a look on her face that clearly informed him that she knew what had gone on between he and Kasimira, likely due to the fact that she had smelled it on him. He shot her a devious smirk that wasn't entirely unfriendly. Kudos to her for being the first one to figure it out. Deciding then that he wouldn't directly come out with it, he turned his gaze to Kyren once again, taking a moment to pause and stretch one of his hindlegs out, all the while making sure to keep his eyes on the other brute. It was clear that if he said the wrong thing or came off as a threat to the others, the red male would lunge from him. Tortuga always loved a good fight, but now was not the time, and he had no reason to fight this male for doing what was right; protecting the others while Kasimira was away. "Believe me, you have nothing to worry about." His voice made an attempt to be reassuring, but Tortuga wasn't exactly experienced when it came to being kind and patient. "Why would I wish to bring any harm to you all when it's my responsibility to watch over you, in a way?" He looked around, searching for the male who had taken off, but he seemed long gone. Very well, Tortuga would just have to meet n' greet with him later. "Now that I've made myself known, and assured you that I mean no harm, perhaps you all should introduce yourselves as well?" It was placed in the form of a suggestion, but there was a demanding undertone to it, making it known that he wasn't to be taken lightly. He wondered if perhaps the female who had noticed the other scent on him would inform the others, or keep it to herself. Either way, Tortuga was eager to see how everything would play out in the end. He was especially eager to see how this Kyren brute, if he had heard his name correctly, would react. [/blockquote]

Should I post, or are you moving to the new thread? I think I'll let Calliope have a rest if you are.

Ok, then let's say Calliope ran after Zy to bring him back or something.
