Those are the words the artist mutters as he steps back to admire his abomination. He throws his hands into the tangled locks, bringing them close to his face, just to feel the delicate touch as it brushes over his cheek. Suddenly, the artist turns and pulls the hairs out. In a fit of rage, he pulls out irregular clumps of hair, for this should be a monster and must live up to its name. He retreats from the beast, only to see that those patches regrew almost instantly. The artist falls to his knees, sobbing as the demon rises, black bodice standing before his creator, fur bristling in a fascinating show of dominance. The tear stricken face looks up to see a pair of icy eyes glaring at him. He stumbles back as the grinning devil approaches, talons clicking on the cobbled floor. This manifestation of evil stops before his maker, forcing the artist to stare right at the marked face. He trembles with both fear and joy. This... this was his work. It was he that created this undead being and now he would pay the price. The wolf lowers his head, his smile curling as the thought of death entices him. The artist shakes and in his last act of life, he grabs his carving knife and attacks his creation. The knife makes one deep gash along the side of the beast's ribs, but that is all the major damage it does. The artist flails, waving the knife in front of him, making nicks on the demon's skin. The wolf roars and lunges for his maker.
"I am your god now."
And with that, the artist was vanquished.
"I'M FUCKED UP AND I KNOW IT."
Manipulator: Make his acquaintance and Mordecai will use all the techniques in his power to manipulate you into doing what he wants. It's unlikely that you'll ever find out what he's doing to you until it's too late. He'll do a few seemingly kind things for you to lure you into his trap. You'll think that he's such a gentleman and you'll ignore all the tell-tale signs. This kindness will become greater and greater. Maybe he just really likes you? Alas, you are just another pawn of his chess pieces. Every so often, Mordecai will ask you to do something. At first, the requests will be small, but the longer you stay with him, the more outlandish the requests will become. Don't want to do them? He'll bring in the generous deeds he did long ago to guilt you into doing as he says. Most comply to his requests. For those who are special, he'll deem you useless and get rid of you. Think of it as trading for a new chess piece.
Dreamer: This is not in the sense most would think. Cai is in fact, very attentive, but he has dreams. Big dreams. And he plans on making them reality. In every spare minute, he is thinking, scheming, amending. This has to be perfect. Every flaw must be erased before he can start initiating his plan. Why? He's just a perfectionist. See, this world is messed up and Mordecai knows how to fix it (or at least, he thinks he does). Unfortunately, the only way to save this world is to take control of it. Surprise, surprise, Mordecai is a control freak and he just loves power. Some could argue that this 'dream' is just an excuse to attempt world domination, but Mordecai truly feels like he could improve this world. Let's just say... he has questionable intentions.
Insulter: He does not like those wolves who take pride in their ignorance. The knowledge he has acquired over the years appears to have granted him the right to be extremely condescending. He doesn't care what your reason is for not knowing. To him, you are stupid. You are below him. If you admit your ignorance, Mordecai will be less harsh than if you said otherwise. He loathes those who try to boast in their 'superior' knowledge, especially when they start spewing nonsense to try and prove their worth. At least they provide a form of mediocre entertainment, else he would have slaughtered them on the spot. To provide some reprieve from the idiocy of some of these wolves, he throws out all sorts of profanities at his victim, insulting their intelligence, appearance, even family if he feels like it. Essentially, stay clear of this wolf unless you wish for your self-confidence to drastically drop.
Pessimist: The world is a cruel place. Things will not turn out as you expect them to. Mordecai has accepted this a long time ago and feels that it is his duty to make everyone else understand this too. No matter what, Cai believes that if something bad can happen, it will. All those good things that have happened were just pure flukes. Soon, all the happiness in the world will be wiped out so he might as well be prepared for when that day comes. His reasoning is that if you always expect the worst to happen, you are likely to be surprised. If you always expect the best, you are going to be disappointed often. Mordecai is prepared to cherish the hope that is left in the world but he will always have a bleak outlook on life.
Amuser: When boredom ensues, Mordecai choses to entertain himself by toying with the fragile minds of the wolves he comes across, forcing them to think about their silly lives. He especially loves bringing about false hope. The best time to do this is before slaughtering a wolf. The important thing is that the wolf must know that they are about to die at the paws of Mordecai. At that point, he'll start showing mercy, saying that they could live if they do a particular thing. This can result in hilarious shows as the terrified wolves do anything to spare their lives. If he so desired, Mordecai could order them to stand on their front paws and they would do just that. Once he gets bored of these crap acts, he'll pretend that his victim is free. When that gorgeous look of relief passes over their face, he then strikes them down. He is not one to be trifled with.
FATHER: Thanatos Calvert
MOTHER: Lianne Calvert
SIBLINGS:
"WANNA KNOW MY LIFE?"
A long time ago, Mordecai was born to two wolves, Thanatos and Lianne, along with his sister, Circe. Like most wolves who survived the first year, he developed nicely, growing quickly. He and his sister always got into scrapes. The devious twins. They were normal, for the most part. See, when they reached adolescence, something began changing within them. They became... more secluded. Mordecai always snapped if his parents asked what they were doing. Only his sister could be near him, and likewise with her. See, they began to notice the evils in this world. Most would just shrug it off but Mordecai had convinced his sister that they could do something about it. With a little manipulation, Mordecai had Circe join his side. The two began scheming, planning a 'just' world.
The siblings left home very soon afterwards. Mordecai wanted to explore more of this godforsaken world and see what more had to be improved. And thus, the twins spent a long time poking around the lands, enraging some of the packs, all the while planning their great break. It was going well so far. They had the skeleton of the plan - now they just needed the meat. Here, they had conflicting opinions. Circe suggested getting some of the packs to help while Mordecai was confident that they could manage this themselves. This small argument was quickly won by Mordecai with his silver tongue. After this moment, it became clear that Cai was becoming more and more controlling. He started bullying his sister into doing what he wanted, though she often fought back. One thing was clear; their relationship was crumbling.
One night, Circe left Mordecai. She ran, hoping to be rid of the monster that was her brother, but Mordecai was quick to follow. He caught up with her and demanded to know why she left. Circe was tired of reasoning with her brother and ran without saying a word. Needless to say, Mordecai followed her. The two ran unknowingly into pack territory, where they were not welcome. An alarm was raised and soon, a group of wolves began hunting them down. Mordecai didn't know until it was too late. Two wolves brought his sister down and another two brought him down. On that night, Mordecai was forced to watch his sister being torn to shreds.
By some luck, Mordecai escaped, though not without injury. His sister... dead. What man would remain sane after that? Something snapped within him. He became more malevolent, dark, manipulating. And still, he yearned to own the world, perhaps as a tribute to Circe, though she was being quickly forgotten. Now he roams this world, refining this plan, preparing for Hell. Stay out of his way if you want to live.
