Sinead There was no doubt in Sinead’s mind that she was pregnant. It was a startling discovery, albeit a slow one, and entirely welcomed. It began with a general disinterest in food and a lack of desire for activity. As the days passed she had found herself lounging in the cool shade of her den more often, until eventually she would force herself to eat something for the sake of her own strength and appearance. More often than not, nausea would follow her meals. Then the soreness in her muscles started, a faint twinge in the mornings and late at night. As the days morphed into weeks, her loss of appetite was gone, replaced by a desire to eat more…and a weight gain. It was only slightly noticeable, the way she began to bulk up and her belly started to swell a tad bit, but Sinead was not dense. She knew what it meant, and it thrilled her. The air grew steadily colder as winter progressed, something that she did not complain about. She found that her fur seemed suddenly hotter, and the crisp, cold air always made her feel better. She drank more water, never turned down a catch that Fane, Merona, or Sayang brought her, and despite her wishes for solitude, she was careful not to treat them too harshly. Surely they must have noticed her belly, which seemed to grow a bit with each day, her attitude, and her appetite. More fortunately was the fact that Einheit’s borders had been quiet. There had been no signs of the Groavche alpha or Chalandra, and Sinead had sent Fane to patrol the borders so frequently that she was surprised he hadn’t smothered her yet. No odd smells or intruders had been reported, thank the gods. Perhaps all would be well. As it was, the Einheit alpha found herself lounging just outside of the dens, enjoying the clouds that had covered the sun. While her belly was still not as heavy as it would become, it was round and full, and she’d recently finished her third lizard. They were not very large but by no means small, spotted along theirs backs and quick on their feet…but they were stupid. If she laid very still they would scurry right past her, and Sinead would lift them into her jaws, crunching happily. It was more difficult for her to hunt quicker prey like hare now, and she didn’t wish to demand that Merona or Sayang do so for her. Sinead did not enjoy feeling weak, and if she really wanted something more filling, there was always fish to be found in the stream. She was content. And yet…and yet, she was alone in experiencing her first signs of pregnancy, and therefore alone in experiencing her initial joy. She did not blame Eneko, who had come and gone as he pleased just as they’d agreed on. He’d stuck around long enough for her season to end, giving her many lavish days of pleasure and affection, and then one morning she’d woken and he was gone. It was not unusual in the least, and it had not upset her. And then her symptoms had begun. Soon, she told herself, rolling onto her side and stretching out as she tried to quell her irritation. Her mood had been fickle lately, and it was something that Sinead tried to catch before it gave way to severe agitation. He will be back soon. She believed it – she had never seen Eneko not keep his word, and so she continued to reassure herself that any day now he would come strutting across the borders, those beautiful blue eyes glimmering with warmth. And when he does, I will try to refrain from biting one of his toes off, for making me wait so long. Suddenly uncomfortable on her side, Sinead huffed and rolled back onto her stomach, resting her head on her paws. A crow landed very near to her with a flutter of ebony wings, cawing obnoxiously and pecking at the tiny remains of her last lizard. ”I am gigantic,” she said dramatically to the bird, despite that she had not even reached the halfway mark of her pregnancy. ”I’ll keep getting bigger and bigger, and then I’ll pop.” The last word was emphasized by her smacking a single paw against the ground, sending the crow aloft with a cry of indignation. It landed again, further away now, and fixed her with its beady gaze. She flashed her teeth at it briefly before sighing and resigning herself to her peaceful lounging. She didn’t even have the vigor to heckle the birds anymore. NOTE: | WORDS: 774 | TAG: open to any Einheit member!

F A N E TALK || THINK || TEXT || THEM
Dark claws grated the earth in irritation as Fane began his journey back from patrolling the Enheit borders for about the third time today. He had gone willingly the first time, put up with Sinead’s paranoia and relented the second, but by the third his patience had run dry. Having already been at the border twice he didn’t even bother to travel all the way there. Sand, rocks, and annoying wrens were about the only things that would greet him should he make the trip, and in his mind it wasn’t worth the effort. “Women.”, he snorted as mahogany orbs rolled in their sockets.
As he reached a point in the river which marked the half-way point between the dens and border Fane stopped to stare at the slow moving current. A school of silver scaled fish caught his attention as they flitted around under the surface. Fish had never been something the brute ate before arriving in Enheit, but he soon learned that there was little else to eat aside from lizards. It was surprisingly easy for him to pick up on the skill, demonstrating his prowess now as he quickly snapped up one of the larger swimming creatures. He tossed the flailing fish up into the air before gleefully crushing it between his scissor-like jaws. Fish was fine and all, but the things were hardly a challenge. Fane missed the thrill of a genuine hunt; the heavy pulse of adrenaline from chasing down another living thing; and the sublime sensation that came with crushing and bleeding the life out of a worthy target. Maybe he’d venture off to slake his bloodlust once his charge was less… bloaty.
Having placated his temper with a short snack he began his trek back to the den site. As he neared, the male caught a glimpse of one gutsy crow, and a tired looking Enheit Alpha. ”I am gigantic, I’ll keep getting bigger and bigger, and then I’ll pop.” He couldn’t help but grin as he overheard their conversation, letting lose a light laugh. The crow flitted a bit more but seemed otherwise unperturbed by Fane’s arrival. “That’d solve a lot of my problems.”, he joked through a devious smirk. “I think you’ve been out in this sun for too long. Come on Miss Daisy, your chauffer thinks you could use a change of scenery.” He walked over and offered his assistance as both a stabilizer and crutch to help the wobbly Sinead stand. “Speaking of escorts, where is that consort of yours. It seems that every time I see him he’s busy trying to make himself scarce.” Truth be told, he’d never had a single conversation with the guy, or most folk in Enheit for that matter, but this one seemed a bit more important than the rest, so he figured he might as well bring him up.

Sinead
“That’d solve a lot of my problems.”Frowning, Sinead cracked open one eye, squinting against the sun that temporarily assaulted her gaze. It took a moment for her to focus on Fane, who stood over her grinning, freshly returned from his third trip to the border. ”Don’t get cheeky with me,” she murmured half-heartedly. Truthfully she couldn’t blame him, for although he was jesting, she assumed that there was some truth to his statement. He’d been wonderful these last few weeks, truly, and Sinead felt a pang of guilt for heckling him as she did. It’s for our own good, she thought grimly, amusing herself with how Fane would react should she ask him to return a fourth time. “I think you’ve been out in this sun for too long. Come on Miss Daisy, your chauffer thinks you could use a change of scenery.”Sighing, Sinead waited for Fane to draw closer, her pride backing down in favor of the offered help. She wasn’t the most graceful of wolves these days, and it would have been more embarrassing than anything else should she refuse his help and then tumble over. Stretching her neck out, she grabbed the scruff of his neck between her jaws as gently as she could while still supporting her weight, careful not to tug too hard or break the skin as she hefted herself to her paws. She released him, puffing with irritation as she leaned against his side. ”It’s a good thing you’re so large,” she said, looking up at him. He towered a decent distance above her, something that made her think on how fortunate she was to have him in Einheit. He’d been true to his word, guarding her as expertly as any warrior, and she had faith that he would do the same for her heirs when they entered the world. “Speaking of escorts, where is that consort of yours? It seems that every time I see him he’s busy trying to make himself scarce.”Sinead frowned as she waddled along beside him, occasionally leaning against him for a moment of rest. Her paws throbbed beneath her, sore from the added weight of her body, but she paid the mild discomfort little mind. ”Yes, he’s very good at that.” Truthfully she wondered the same thing; Eneko had been absent for some time now, making it difficult for Sinead’s patience to persevere, specifically due to her vulnerable state. ”He’s likely off hunting hearts and chasing tails,” she said after a moment with a shrug of her slender shoulders. As calm and cool as she tried to sound, her stomach clenched. It wasn’t that she really minded him wandering away to do whatever – or whoever – it was that he did. She hadn’t lied when she told him she didn’t mind. However, she had no one to share the excitement of her pregnancy with, save for Fane, who she was sure had heard enough of her girlish blathering as it was. She walked alongside him in silence for some time, not caring where he lead her, her mind working as she went. Finally she cast him a devious grin, her rounded belly brushing against his side just slightly. ”So are you prepared to be the designated uncle?”NOTE: uncle Fane >:3 | WORDS: 542| TAG: ¿℟ᵿҝɸ

F A N E TALK || THINK || TEXT || THEM
He was glad Sinead took him up on his offer to help. Fane knew it took a lot for her to accept she needed it, and he didn’t want to be the one to physically force her out of the sunlight for her own good. The Enheit alpha tugged on the light colored scruff around his neck as gently as she could to help right herself. The one thing his overly long fur was still good for no matter what climate was physical protection, so he didn’t really mind. ”It’s a good thing you’re so large,” He chuckled softly at both her less than graceful ascent, as well as her comment. “If I had a buck for every time a woman said something like that to me.” Rolling his eyes at his own comment he smirked and began walking alongside the alpha. As they slowly journeyed nowhere in particular, Sinead got around to answering Fane’s previous question.
Yes, he’s very good at that. He’s likely off hunting hearts and chasing tails,”
A sigh escaped his lips as they walked, shaking his head slightly. The only heart hunting Fane ever did was that in the most literal of all ways. Sure, he had his slew of previous lovers, none of them were living anymore but still, he’d had them at one point. Personally he didn’t see why Sinead put up with Eneko’s wanderlust let alone why she would want to have pups with him, but Fane wasn’t an expert in genuine emotional affairs of the heart, so he never offered his opinion on the matter. Come to think of it, until now he’d never even given it any thought. Maybe if he met the guy he’d get some inkling as to why an Alpha would put up with such nonsense. Even though Sinead shrugged and seemed pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, that couldn’t be the whole story. Still, he mostly wanted the other brute back just so the fem could talk to someone other than him about puppies. And damn, could she talk about puppies.
As they neared a huge rock outcropping not too far from the dens Fane noticed a devious smirk cross Sinead’s face. ”So are you prepared to be the designated uncle?” He rolled his eyes and shot her a look that screamed ‘you can’t be serious’ in the most unenthused way. Putting a guy like him on babysitting duty was pretty much like telling a fox to guard the henhouse. “Have you noticed what happens to tiny things around me?”, he said jokingly through a sly grin as he snapped at the air. Truthfully he wouldn’t do anything to her pups, but watching rambunctious younglings was not something he had experience with, and had no plans to start now. Still, the thought of molding tiny proficient killers did bring a smile to the grey male’s face. “Bump me up to god-father and we’ll talk then.” As he sat down in the shade of a large overhang he arched a sarcastic brow in Sinead’s direction. “Though I doubt your mate would approve. What’s he to do if he has boys, avoid them as well?” All kidding aside, it was a rather curious behavior of Eneko’s he’d picked up on, but maybe it wasn’t so much gender as it was Fane himself. Regardless, the thought of papa Eneko hiding from his own pups was pretty amusing.

E N E K O He was finished. It had all become a little too much, gone a little too far, and halfway home Eneko had decided he wouldn't go gallivanting off chasing tails again. Dresna a princess. Princess. DAUGHTER OF A BLOODY DOMINOR. Even as he rushed further from the scene, even days later when he'd bedded down a short walk to Einheit mulling over the events, Eneko couldn't wrap his head around it. Sometimes he questioned whether he'd imagined the white she-wolf and her puzzling comrade. Had he potentially infuriated her dominor parents? Did they know of him? Eneko thought it better if he'd never learned of their existence in the first place. He feared they might go in search for their daughter's rogue suitor for the last thing he wanted was a debacle with a pack as great as Irrsin. Foolish he often might have acted, but he was no fool. He knew of the comradery between Einheit and Irrsin, knew what provocations he might have incurred if he acted further than he had. And even more he considered the idea that he was swiftly growing too much for this. Not old, perhaps, but it was wearing on his bones. Yes, he was done. For now, at least. Dresna had a talent for ensnaring the mind, that much he knew well, but he had someone at home that he needed to focus on. Sinead's scent was dulled when he crossed over the borders midday. Instead, it had been masked by the prominence of Fane to the point it might have been easy to assume a dramatic shift in rank had occurred. Eneko could feel his heart lurch sickeningly into his throat at the thought of the larger brute and an uneasy feeling settle into his gut. Had he been gone too long? Had that monstrosity overthrown a potentially more vulnerable Sinead with nobody there to confront him? The questions and worry whirred in his mind and Eneko found his paws carrying him swiftly across the barren landscape. It took him a moment to realize he was running full force and it felt a strange thing to be so distraught so easily. The idea that Dresna had fallen to harm had caused some distress to be sure, but had not come close to the panic that threatened to overwhelm him now. The thought of anything befalling Sinead unsettled his usual cool collectiveness and not merely because of what she may be carrying. And he was furious at the idea that some high and mighty brute might try and overthrow his she-wolf. He'd never spoken to him but the idea that he didn't like the other male had long since settled into his skull. Careening around a rocky bend on the landscape in a cloud of dusts and dirt, the brute wasn't at all expecting a near impact with a dark wall. He leaped sideways at the last moment to avoid the frame of dark fur before pausing abruptly seconds later. They were sitting there together, probably discussing the weather or something equally as dismal. Eneko couldn't really care at the moment for he was flooded with too much relief to find Sinead well and alive and... larger. It wasn't entirely a surprise to see her belly swollen from when he'd left. She'd planned it, after all. Once upon a time the sight of a pregnant she-wolf might have sent him fleeing in the other direction. This time a lurch of excitement swept his veins instead, dulling his fears as he closed the remaining distance between himself and Sinead and stood next to her with an accusing flick of the eyes towards Fane. "I can keep up the borders now," he says to the other male as if his very scent had been an insult, before turning his attention back to Sinead. She looked tired but healthy and he couldn't help but wonder how many of their pups grew in her womb, or why he had left in the first place at all. Dresna was suddenly in a far off place of the mind whether because of his dawning realizations or a pinch of fear. Or, possibly, because he felt suddenly grounded by the site of a pregnant Sinead being lorded over by some other male. Blinking as he lowers in the shade as well, Eneko settles down next to Sinead and shifts deftly between her and her guard. A wry smile tugs at the corner of mis maw and masks the unease that always seemed to settle in his gut around other males. "The brute isn't giving you any trouble is he, love?" He's sure to allow a trace of humor to lace his words but it mingles with his apparent distaste for Fane. Still, Eneko tries to remain good-natured about it for now. Stressing Sinead with his own insecurities and hostilities was the last thing he wanted at this stage of her pregnancy or immediately upon his return. "You've been feeding her well?" He asks Fane but with a growing amount of regret for wandering off at all and turns his gaze back to the she-wolf. "Won't have to worry too much for that now. I'm not leaving again." Well... not for a while at the very least. For once in his life Eneko was adamant about his role as much as he was spooked over the encounter with Dresna.

Sinead
“Have you noticed what happens to tiny things around me?”It was the joking edge to his voice that had Sinead laughing; she knew, deep down inside, that he would never hurt her pups. No matter how hulking and intimidating he might be, Sinead had been toying with the idea that Fane had a fiercely loyal side. She was determined to drag it out from the recesses of him at some point – especially if he was going to play the part of godfather. “Though I doubt your mate would approve. What’s he to do if he has boys, avoid them as well?”Giggling softly at the thought she shrugged her shoulders as she led them into the limited shade of a single scraggy tree, backed by a mound of jagged rocks. Plopping down, she sighed and adjusted herself until her stomach didn’t feel quite so uncomfortable. ”Truthfully, I’d be more worried about him molding them into mini-Eneko’s. The hearts of Ravensbruck would never be safe,” she jested, a smile tugging at her lips before she sighed. ”Let’s hope for girls, shall we?”There was a brief moment of peaceful calm before a gray blur came barreling around the corner, dirt thrown up in its wake. Eneko barely managed to skid to a halt, skirting around Fane as he immediately came to stand beside her. His first statement was clearly aimed in Fane’s direction, and unable to help herself, Sinead rolled her eyes. Brutes were so domineering and possessive, and Eneko was no different. It was almost amusing to watch the way he maneuvered between them; her seagreen eyes sparkled with amusement as she looked from Eneko to Fane and back again."The brute isn't giving you any trouble is he, love?"There was an edge of humor to his tone, but some deeper mistrust that wasn’t lost on Sinead. ”No, no. Quite the opposite,” she informed him with a smile aimed in Fane’s direction. ”Truly, he’s been my savior. It’s hard to even walk like this, much less hunt.” Huffing her discomfort, she cast a quick look at her stomach. It seemed to grow bigger and bigger with each passing day. "You've been feeding her well? Won't have to worry too much for that now. I'm not leaving again."Attention captured once more, Sinead glanced up sharply, her eyes slightly accusing as she stared at Eneko. She’d been so pleased by his appearance that she’d almost forgotten her irritation, but alas, her hormones would not be vanquished so easily. ”If you do, I’ll hunt you down and drag you back myself,” she said sourly, turning her nose up just slightly. ”I’ve been fed very well. If Fane is too busy checking the borders for the hundredth time, bless his soul, then Merona and Sayang see to me.”Struggling to her feet – and nearly knocking Eneko over in the process – Sinead waddled a short distance away, suddenly feeling too warm and enclosed. Clacking her teeth together in frustration she turned to glance over her shoulder, eying both of the males suspiciously. ”Play nice,” she grumbled, almost to herself. ”Or I’ll be very upset with both of you.”Not seeming to realize how very unthreatening she was in that moment, Sinead ambled back over to sit in front of the both of them. Caving beneath the relief that flooded her at the sight of Eneko for a moment, she stretched her neck out to bury her muzzle in his scruff affectionately, inhaling his scent before pulling away. Her moods fluctuated so swiftly lately that it left her reeling afterwards. Wordlessly she watched them, waiting for some sort of reaction. Pregnant or no, her pride would not allow her to appear weak.

F A N E TALK || THINK || TEXT || THEM
As Sinead’s laugh danced happily through the desert air Fane felt himself finally start to relax. It was curious, he thought, how he never realized what genuine laughter sounded like, or even considered the notion. He was a loner by nature, and what little time he spent around other canines was never a particularly jubilant period for any party but himself. This whole scenario was still strangely foreign to the male, and Fane didn’t know quite how to feel about it. Sitting there in the company of another living, sentient being, co-existing in the same frame of time and even enjoying each other’s presence was to him both a new and odd experience. Soon he became so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t hear the approach of the other male who rushed past him in a blur.
His body reacted before his mind did, instinctively shifting from a placid fur rug to a fearsome snarling beast. A vicious barking growl escaped his open maw as he stood to face the perceived threat, though Fane soon realized there was no need. As quickly as his aggression appeared it soon ebbed away once he recognized the other male. However, as the other spoke, he’d wished he had allowed his muscles to do what they now ached for.
"I can keep up the borders now,"
Sharp ebon claws dug into the dried earth, attempting to vent some of their owner’s steadily bubbling rage. “About god damn time.” Fane cast a look at Sinead, practically pleading for any excuse to drive those black daggers through the male who now had wedged himself between the two. Her clearly unamused expression placated him some, but not enough to remove his burgeoning desire to see the desert hungrily lap up Enekos blood. This may have been the fastest Fane had gone from meeting a wolf, to wanting to see them dead. If it wasn’t the quickest—he’d killed for some pretty petty reasons—this was definitely in the top five. If Sinead hadn’t answered this cocky bastard’s question in such a way that distracted his hatred, Fane was sure he would have in a far less elegant manner.
“No, no. Quite the opposite. Truly, he’s been my savior.”
Now there was a statement Fane had never even considered remotely possible. Him, a savior of anyone? He thought squirrels would fly before that could ever happen. Come to think of it, could squirrels fly? Inwardly he rolled his eyes at his own ludicrous thoughts, blaming the sweltering desert conditions for his current perplexed state. Still, Sinead's words churned in his head; his pensive mind masked perfectly through a blank look of mild amusement. However, his visage soured as Eneko opened his mouth and spoke with the same distasteful tone. Once again, the Enheit Alpha, hormones and all, still somehow had a voice of reason capable of responding.
”If you do, I’ll hunt you down and drag you back myself,”
Finally, something he could get behind, though Fane had a feeling his idea of hunting down Eneko was slightly different than what the fem had in mind. He could picture it now; the smug grin wiped off the other brutes face and replaced with one of sheer terror. Instead of his domineering tone he’d be panting, running, begging for his life as his stamina and resolve slowly dwindled to nothing. Body and spirit broken, the brute faced with his own mortality would become a sniveling husk, and Fane, looking down at the pathetic creature below, would simply stand and watch as the twinkling garb of death ensnared its new prize. “I’d be more than happy to help with that.” A bloodthirsty grin weaved across Fane’s maw as he stared, stolidly, at the other male. As Sinead stood and waddled away, he inwardly laughed lightly at her less than graceful state.
”Play nice, Or I’ll be very upset with both of you.”
He’d heard more threatening words from a groundhog than the ones Sinead spoke. What could she do in her current state, sit on them? Then again, even with their size difference, that had the potential to be fairly uncomfortable. Fane circled Eneko once, grinning menacingly as he cooed his reply. “Gentle as a lamb, m’dear, don’t you worry. I’d never leave a mark on your pretty little boy toy. At least… nothing permanent anyway.” Sauntering over and laying down so that the trio was arranged in a triangle-esque formation, he let loose a soft laugh devoid of the vehemence that was present moments ago, clouding the threatening nature of his statement with uncertainty.
“But really, you wander off again and leave me with stuck with Sinead, no offence dearie, not your fault,” he paused and gave Sinead as close to an apologetic look as he could muster ,“I will track you down and haul your pretty-boy ass back here by the scruff. We crystal?” It was clear Fane wasn’t joking, but he was not going to deal with a needy pregnant female by himself, especially one who’s condition wasn’t his fault, again. “Nice to meet you, by the way.”, he gruffly tacked on. This meeting was going swimmingly.
Don' upset momma Sinead, boys! :C Hope its ok. I always feel like I never give enough stuff for people to respond to.

E N E K O Savoir? The brief flash of irritation as his gaze swept the other male wasn't something easily concealed. Eneko flicked between ogling at Sinead's changed state, to the other brute who he suddenly feared had built a great wedge in his absence. It was his own fault, he knew, and he hadn't considered any other outcome, but the very thought of him serving up meals to Sinead sent his typically calm demeanor aflame with spite. Merona and Sayang he had no quarrels with, whatever their intentions or actions... but Fane? Fane who he didn't even know? Who could have ulterior motives for his strange dedication? Fane who managed to make him seethe and brood by his mere presence in Einheit and stir his insecurities and protective tendencies towards the she-wolf? Fane who lazed around so easily with Sinead while he was away? Fane's scent on the borders and Fane's kills dropped at Sinead's paws. He should have stayed, that he knew now, but he still wondered if his new-found position was so easily overthrown. Eneko cared little for ranks but he certainly cared about Sinead's opinion over him and her well-being and even the well-being of their home. And here was this brute whom he had a sneaking suspicion would relish his most epic failures. He'd never thought himself jealous or spiteful in his life and even condemned other males for their behaviors but right then Eneko could feel himself sink to a level he'd never think to find himself. He'd never hated someone before but he feared he would know the taste of it soon. But I'll be damned if I'm torn down so easily, he thought with both the realization of his own fault and anger that desperately wished to be unleashed upon the other. Instead his focus shifted back to Sinead and he allowed Fane's initial snide remarks to slide away as if they'd never been tossed at all. Returning the brief display of affection, he nuzzled Sinead shoulder and relented to the waves of joy that always managed to sweep over him in her presence. He was relieved she had come to no harm, as stupid as he was to leave despite the terms to their agreement. "You are beautiful, love. The look suits you," he teased with with the corner of his maw pulling into a lopsided grin. The idea had crossed his mind, yet never had Eneko believed he would one day come to father Sinead's pups. And what's more, he'd also never imagined the idea of fatherhood could be quite this exciting. Now, sitting beside her and her rounded belly the reality quickly sunk in. He was glad for it and content to revel in it... until their companion decided to open his mouth again. Eneko had never thought himself overly prideful or one to possess much of a violent streak but the flames of an unfamiliar rage washed over him then. He turned on Fane with a snarl that had rarely torn from his throat before and certainly not spawned from this kind of fury. One abrupt lunge brought him directly in front of the other brute with the snap of his teeth and blazing eyes that threatened to set the other on fire had it been possible. He'd always done his best to avoid confrontations, always slunk back into shadows or skirted anyone that dare give him trouble in his wandering of the wilds. This time he would not sit so idly by as someone relentlessly insulted him in his own home. "Call me pretty boy again," he spoke roughly, wishing himself a cobra that could spit venom into the face of someone he considered an intruder. "You who's loyalty had to be bought. I appreciate what you have done for Sinead in my misguided absence but do not think I will sit here and take your adolescent need to berate or threaten me! Even in your time here you know little of us, the understanding in our own relationship, and you do not get a say." Never had he heard himself speak with such force or command in his life, though he wasn't foolish enough to believe so soon that Fane would brush it off as he had attempted to. Eneko hated confrontation with a passion, thought it needless even now, but when he looked at Fane he saw someone who'd act on needless violence to prove himself. He hoped he was wrong. With a snort of contempt and disgust he stalked to Sinead and came around to stand beside her. "Now, are you finished with your banter or do you dare upset the lady?" There might have been a hint of humor to dull the tension, but it wasn't for Fane's sake.

Sinead
They were going to drive her insane.
Sinead sat watching as the two traded catty remarks and thinly veiled threats, her sea green eyes narrowed with ladylike disdain. Back and forth they went, her eyes narrowing further with each response so that she very nearly had them closed by the time that Eneko abruptly sprang forward. Startled and thoroughly disgruntled, Sinead leapt to her feet in a flurry of pathetic wobbling and clumsiness, taking a quick step back as Eneko brought himself nose-to-nose with Fane, snarling and growling all the while. Eperna help me, I’m too fat to stop them if they fight, she thought, her heart pounding hard in her chest as each of Eneko’s words, hard and unrelenting, fell around them like boulders. Never before had she seen him react in such a way, and as he finished and came to stand behind her with one final remark, she was momentarily unsure of how to respond.
Momentarily being the operative word, of course. She recovered her wits quickly, whirling to snap her teeth in the general direction of Eneko’s shoulder, before turning just as quickly to waddle over to Fane, a quick flash of teeth to serve as his warning. She very well might have snapped at him as well had she not lost all of her glorious momentum due to her swollen belly; she stopped just short of him, exasperation and desperation taking the place of her anger. ”Fane,” she said, her voice a plea; she knew very well of Fane’s temperament, and she did not doubt for a moment that the situation could still escalate with his response. Putting herself physically between the two was her only other option, besides her shameless begging, of course. Both of them were quicker than her, and yet she was Alpha. She shook her head at the darker brute by means of explanation, her irritation rising as quickly as it had disappeared. She was far too hormonal for this.
”You are both behaving like children,” she snapped, turning to glare at Eneko as she spoke – he would not be exempt from her rage, either. ”If this is what I have to look forward to with motherhood than I will die of exhaustion before the pups are even grown! I am tired, I am hot, and I am angry. I am nearly the size of the mountains themselves and if you don’t both behave, I am going to pitch a fit grand enough to bring Eperna herself down from the heavens to calm me. Get along, or go away.” She flicked her gaze between both of them before stomping over to the shade of the scraggly tree with all of the force she could muster, plopping down in an impressive puff of dirt. While truly she didn’t wish for either of them to leave, she would not relent now. She closed both of her eyes as she laid her head on her paws before reconsidering, cracking one open to glare suspiciously at the two. ”Now if you’re both done behaving like imbeciles, you may come and keep me company,” she sniffed, before closing her eyes once more and daintily turning her muzzle away.
She was a queen, damn it. A heavily pregnant, highly irritated queen.

F A N E TALK || THINK || TEXT || THEM
Every inch of muscle, every strand of his being, demanded he act on his most base instinct. It would be simple; a brief act requiring nothing more than a swift vice to the throat. Carried by his upward momentum he could easily topple the brute before him, pinning the male helplessly beneath his heavy frame. There would be no drawn out suffering, no murderous foreplay, nothing but satisfying his seething desire to halt Eneko’s very existence. This would not be a death created for amusement or beauty; those thoughts were lost from Fane as his mind focused upon less elegant rational, wishing harm for the ignoble reason of hate. Ordinarily nothing could have stopped him as he rose to strike out his vengeance, but Sinead’s abrupt retaliation caused him to falter.
“Fane.”
Her snarl faded to a state of submissiveness the male had yet to once see from the Enheit Alpha, derailing his murderous train of thought. As he met her softening glare Fane felt a hint of something which deeply perplexed his core, creating further hesitation. It wasn’t the first time he’d faced the exasperated cries from another trying futilely to placate his bloodlust, be it for them or loved one, and watching the emotional degradation was often just as gratifying as the act itself. None of their pleas had ever amounted to anything; however this time, for some reason, Sinead’s did. She shook her head, wordlessly conveying every ounce of her concern. As an alpha, she could have commanded him, tried to order him, which would have only escalated the situation, but instead attempted to level with him on an even empathetic field. The strange thing was, it worked, and Fane’s fiery wrath began to fade to a smoldering ember of what it once was.
”You are both behaving like children.”, was how her rant began, and only escalated from there. He was half tempted to make a snarky remark on the violent extents of sibling rivalry, but decided that provoking a pregnant fem who could probably bring the heavens down with her seismic activity alone didn’t seem like the best course of action. Leering at Eneko from the corner of his eyes he watched as Sinead plopped herself into the dust, appreciating her choice of the earth versus himself as her bedding.
”Now if you’re both done behaving like imbeciles, you may come and keep me company,”
He snorted indignantly at her comment, noting that Eneko was the one who started all of this drama in the first place. It was a fairly calm day before he decided to show up again, and he was the one who was getting his panties in a knot over nothing. The more he thought about it, the more the rage just recently covered began bubbling out again. Composing himself the best he could and trying not to scowl too much, he calmly, but snidely, rejected her offer. “You and Eneko must have some catching up to do, so I’ll just show myself out. Hope you don’t mind, but I’ll be gone for a few days. I have some personal business I’ve been meaning to get time to deal with, so now that you have someone much more 'capable' to chauffeur you around, I’m sure you won’t miss me.” Stretching, Fane walked a foot or so out before turning his head toward Eneko, speaking in a condescending tone. “Oh, and Eneko. If you trust me so little, which if you disvalue Sinead’s opinion of me I guess you should, then why did you leave me essentially alone with her? Maybe her judgement isn’t the only thing you disregard.” Smirking, he loped away, setting himself once again, for the fourth time today, in the direction of Enheit’s border. He needed to go blow off some steam.
If you want I can change the ending so he hangs around. It seemed like a good spot, and I just figured this is what he'd do. "D Too much rage. Also evidently the one thing he's afraid of is ANGRY PREGGO WOMENZ. tehehe.

E N E K O He would not sit there and take his childish need to deride him, then have an accusing eye turned on him as if his reaction wasn't warranted. Eneko could have laughed at the notion of trust in the face of Fane if there'd been any inkling of humor flowing through him then. Instead his lips pulled back over his teeth in a silent snarl at the idea of it. What little he knew of Fane did not paint the picture of a wolf he could instill any faith in, but instead a mongrel that had somehow weeded its way into Einheit. Eneko didn't question Sinead's decision to save him because she knew nothing of him. What he questioned was her decision to allow him into her lands because she knew nothing of him. He didn't know what the two of them had discussed, what Fane had told her, didn't care. Any whispers Eneko had heard of his past only imbued him with disgust, doubt, a sickening feeling every time he saw him. Einheit was his home, ruled by Sinead who he'd long since come to care deeply for, a she-wolf who carried his pups. It wasn't just the fact Fane was male, it was the fact he was a shadowy cur who's motivations he didn't know and if he had he didn't think he'd believe them if someone told him they were admirable. Eneko had always been someone to flee at the first sign of trouble. Not because he was cowardly but because he'd never had anything to fight for. There had been a few scuffles, ones that left him with a notch torn from an ear, small scars hidden beneath his coat. Now? He'd be damned if he wavered facing someone who seared him with disgust, someone who could harm everything he'd come to cherish if his past exploits told anything. And if the murderous glint in Fane's eye was anything to go by, they had a long way to go. He listened to Sinead's rant in silence, staring Fane down with obvious repulsion. She had every reason to be irritated. There was a thirsting part of him that wanted to question then and there why she held the other in such high regard but ultimately decided now was not the time or place. As much as he wished to tear into the brute Eneko wasn't so ruled by a swift temper. He made a mental note to bring the subject of him up later as quietly and delicately as possible. For now, he stayed by Sinead's side, content enough to remain in her company. It only happened to be a bonus that Fane wasn't so eager to stay in his. The other male tossed another snide remark, as he seemed so prone to do, and turned. Eneko's fur bristled and he released a near silent growl but by then Fane had loped away. Eneko was happy to be rid of him. Silence past for a time until Eneko turned to regard Sinead again. She looked positively exhausted and though a wave of guilt swept over him despite it all, he was still steaming with his own irritation. Still, he wouldn't leave her. He paced directly to her side and though he wasn't at all sure if she truly wished for company then, he lowered himself next to her. There were an array of angry accusations and comments swirling in his mind then. He disliked being silenced, overruled in defense against himself and his family despite the fact she was the alpha. For a moment his eyes narrowed in contemplation but the brute made the good judgement not to voice any of it. Instead he swallowed his pride and forced down the soreness of it all. After a time a tiny smile tugged up at the corner of his maw. He shifted so that he was closer to her, placing an affectionate lick to her cheek. "Our babies will have one fierce mother." He hoped it would be enough to defuse the tension. He'd heard of she-wolves aborting their pups out of stress, something he'd never forgive himself for if he played a part. He wanted Sinead to be happy and most of all he wanted her to be safe, with him. "I love you." It struck him that it might have been the first time he'd ever voiced it. They'd never had to before, always sure in the other's standing and feelings in each other. ✧
