Sphuul I hate to break it to you but You're just a lonely star I try to bring you down but A level isn't good enough You always do as you please So I'm gonna follow suit And take a seat And watch you fall apart 'Cause in the end What are you without me? Leaves twittered softly to each other, blown by the breeze gently swaying through the cliffs. The sun had just began to sink, blue skies morphing into vibrant pinks and oranges as the great yellow orb slowly slunk below the edge of the cliff that Sphuul was now making his way towards. His fur twisted almost thoughtfully in the breeze that now alternated between a gentle carress and a sharp wind, blowing his fur away from his skin, allowing his maze of scars to be shown for a precious moment. He ignored the wind, his amber eyes focused on the ground in front of him. In the fading light, the dirt under his paws grew darker, less colorful. Due to a recent shower of rain that lasted only a few minutes, the ground was moist, lenient, and his large paws left prints where they had made and lost contact.
The male slowed as the edge came into view, raising his head to catch a glimpse of the land below him. The tops of trees formed a great green floor, waving seeemingly slowly in the breeze that emptied itself from the cliff. The trees ended abruptly within a few miles, replaced by skeletons and ash. The fire had taken a decent chunk out of the land. Sphuul had left Ravensbruck during the chaos, hovering at the edge of the land. He had found a reason to remain in the land, a friend, and he waited impatiently for his moment to return. Now he feared he had returned too late. He had seen no sign of another wolf, only the beating life of the forest within.
He moved to sit within a little alcove, shaded and covered with branches while still giving him a view both of the cliffs edge and the pathway through which he had come to get here. A gentle sigh left his body, his eyes wandering down that pathway, where a single line of pawprints showed the world that someone, anyone was here. Is there another wolf at the other end of those prints? Sphuul feared company greatly, but he yearned for a sign that Ravensbruck was still here, that he had not abandoned it in it's single moment of need.
