The day was young when the large male walked into Goravche, his tail hanging low as he left his own territory and stepped across the border of the next land. He had heard that it had been just recently claimed, just like he had claimed Regnen not too long ago. But that is all he heard, he also heard that Nirco, the Alpha here, had the same distaste that he had for slaves. Just the thought of it put a sour taste in his mouth, making him lick his chops in disgust.
Stolz only took a few more steps into the marshy land before lifting up his head and letting out a howl, asking to meet with Nirco. He made sure to keep out his demanding tone, he was no longer in his own lands. If he wanted to make nice with the alpha here, he had to play it cool. In the history of these two lands, Regnen and Groavche have often fought, Groavche's land not being super rich in prey and Regnen having more than enough to feed its large numbers. The gray and white male snorted softly, his nose twitching with anxiety. He didn't want to start a war, he didn't have enough members to even call a war. Plus, a band new alpha wasn't usually going to pick a fight right off of the bat. Hopefully.
While he waited, the brute sat down on his rump, patiently awaiting the other male. The things he had heard about this one were great, and he couldn't wait to greet him and speak with him. Oh the ideas they could share! They both didn't like slaves, maybe they would even come up with an idea to abolish the whole slavery thing going on in Ravensbruck. How amazing would that be? With a wondrous smile on his maw, he awaited to speak to his fellow Alpha.

Nirco
There was an itch deep down in the dark-furred brute. It had been years since he had stayed in the same area for more than a few days. He had always been on the move as a free roamer, trekking back and forth across Ravensbruck on well-worn paws in the never ending search for...something. He hadn't been sure what it was, and still wasn't entirely confident he had found it. Maybe a part of it, but not all. That thing was a meaning to his existence, something every wolf desired to find. Except the male knew he was only on the edge of his calling and had a great distance to go before he found the entirety of it all. His first step had been to claim these very lands he now lay upon, but he had yet to take the second step.
A howl rang out somewhere in the distance, stirring the male from the relaxed state he had taken that afternoon, just like every afternoon. Rising to his large paws, his darker ear flicked back ad forth a couple of times, listening for any other calls that might greet him. None came, and the inexperienced alpha in him told him maybe he should just ignore it. But Nirco wasn't an idiot. He knew what it meant and to be honest, he wasn't too sure he was happy about it or not. On one hand, whoever had requested his presence could be a valued asset to his plans. On the other, however, he feared it may be some upstart troublemaker, something he greatly desired to avoid right about now. Nirco was not a small wolf by any means. In fact, he seemed a giant compared to many he had met in his days. But he had no pack members as of yet and trouble was not something he wanted. Not yet, at least.
With narrowed eyes he trudged off in the direction of the howl, towards where his border met Regnen's. He had snuck across those lands a few times during his roaming days, but had been sure to avoid anyone that called it home. It was funny when one thought about it. For such a big wolf he was quite adept at going unnoticed. But someone definitely knew he was here, and Nirco wracked his mind to figure out who it could be. The Regnen alpha, perhaps? But what would he want with the new Groavche alpha? Had the brute with the dark coat finally pissed off his neighbors somehow? A mixture of amusement and worry at the thought washed through him as he got closer.
Nirco could smell the intruder before he saw him. And he was most definitely an intruder until he knew what he wanted. Nirco slipped through the half-dead trees that littered the boarder, treading cautiously and slowly from a distance as he inspected the stranger. The dark male made no effort to hide from the other as he did a half circle around him, watching and analyzing. He had no intention of running if the stranger decided to start something, but there was no harm in being careful, either.
It was only after deciding that the lighter coated wolf didn't seem all that threatening that he approached further, stopping a good fifteen or so feet away with a confident yet relaxed posture. Socializing was still taking some getting used to, he found. But he was determined not to let his own anxiety over such a thing get to him and his stoic expression gave nothing away. "Greetings and salutations, stranger. What brings you to my lands?"

``STOLZ Trouble? Him? Oh no, only if it was asked of him or if another pushed him. This brute was not here to stir up any trouble, more of a meet and greet type thing. Besides, one could not run a sound pack unless they knew what was around him. He needed to know if this alpha was going to be a thorn in his paw, or an asset to both him and his pack. He was for sure an Alpha by blood, and by heart. Hopefully this one shared some of his skills, and if not, at least some of his views. The other two packs had a bit of a shaky relationship with him, after trying to be the head over every one of them. Yes, not the best start. But he had asked them to start on a clean plate, a blank slate of the newly re-made Alpha.
When the scent of the Alpha reached his nose, his body itched to stand to attention with his tail high. He had to force himself to stay on his rump, to remind himself once again that this was not his territory. So he settled himself, giving his chest a few licks to calm his shaky nerves. Stolz hoped that he had not called the Alpha away from something of importance, meeting wolves was not best when the other party was cranky. Chuckling to himself, his ears swiveled atop his head as he tried to pick up in what direction the brute was coming from.
When the large, darker coloured male came into view, he dipped his head calmly in a greeting. As he did a half circle around him, he couldn't help but smile. He remembered that feeling well, if the wolf wanting to meet you wanted trouble or not. So he awaited for the male to start the conversation before he opened his big yap. They were about the same height, which was rare for Stolz to run into. He was use to towering over everyone else, which the black male should feel as well. The gap was large between them though, so he could not tell who was taller and who was not. With a simple shrug of his shoulders, he brushed off its importance and watched as he came closer.
It eased the multi-hued brute that he did not seem angered, that his body was eased, while only a little tensed. That was natural though, he was a stranger. When he finally spoke, Stolz smiled softly at the brute. "Greetings fellow Alpha, I am the Regnen Alpha and I have come here to meet with you. Always best to know your neighbours, yes?" he said smoothly, his large fluffy tail wrapping around his paws. "I hope that I am not pulling you away from anything of importance. I only wished to speak with you for a little while."
After a small pause, Stolz's ears flicked slightly. How to bring up what he really wanted to say? This brute was almost a friend in his eyes already, since he also did not agree with the slavery that ran rampant over these lands. "I hear that we share some of the same views, which interests me. Not every Alpha in these lands think like you and I do. Slavery is something that does not exist in my pack, which I hear is the same in yours." He tried to keep things formal, although he felt a bit silly talking like that. He was usually pretty laid back, but he was intent on gaining an ally out of this conversation, not an enemy.

Wary eyes observed the stranger with legs like that of steel anchored upon the land. Nirco was not yet sure what to think of the other brute's presence and whether he posed any sort of danger to himself or his territory or not. Thus far it did not appear so, but Nirco was all too familiar with things turning out far different than what he originally assumed. Such foolishness had nearly gotten him killed once, something he did not care to repeat. He was also taken by surprise by the size of the other male. This was the first in many years that Nirco had come upon someone whom he did not dwarf. But whether this was refreshing or worrisome, he had not yet decided.
The great beast of dark fur heard the other out, standing somewhat patiently as the Regnen alpha spoke. What was said did seem odd to Nirco at first, as he had not heard whispers of any other dominant that shared his views on the disgusting act of slavery. As difficult as it was to believe, it was also somewhat comforting that he was not the only fair leader. At least, he liked to think himself as fair. "Correct. I don't condone it here," said Nirco as he watched the wolf of lighter hues.
It was not often that he met someone with a similar mindset on this subject matter and he was all too curious as to what drove the other male to believe slavery was not the way to go. He was a little more than hesitant to ask, as the idea of socialization was still very much daunting to Nirco. It was a fear he knew he must abolish to as far an extent as he possibly could. He supposed the best way to acquire any info he sought was to befriend, something not easy for the brute of dark furs. Alliances were important though, and even the new alpha could see that. "It's nice to know I'm not the only leader who feels this way. Tell me," he spoke again, "what is your name?" Well, it was a start.

``STOLZ The male was observing the other closely, each brute seeming to size each other up. Like to men in a wrestling ring, their stares were ones of study, trying to figure each other out. While it wasn't for a fight, that was still not off the table. Both of them were slightly tense, unsure and waiting. This was the game of alphas, the crucial one that they played before they decided on being enemies, or allies. Their two packs were often in turmoil, usually duking it out for prey. Stolz wanted to change this though, to bond with his close neighbour.
When the brute went on to say that he in fact, did not keep slaves in his pack, the male visibly settled himself. It was very nice to hear, it was the rumor that had sent him in this direction as well. It for sure was a breath of fresh air, that now half of the packs in this land did not have slaves. Maybe together their could get rid of it completely. A small smile formed on his maw when he smiled at the brute, the first little good mood passed between the two of them.
"Ah!" He said, shaking his head sadly. He had known the brutes name coming in, but he did not know his own. "My name is Stolz, pleasure to meet someone with a like mind." Curiosity was burning in his mind, and he very much wanted to know why he thought the same as him. "So tell me, why do you feel that slavery is bad?" Almost choking on the word slavery, he cleared his throat to try and cover it. He really did hate it. His face scrunched up in disgust of the mere thought of it.
