CHALANDRA Dawn. It was one of the best times for a glimpse at the sun rise, and as her mother had told her when she was little, it was a time to view the blessings of the gods on a new day. Karlotte had never told her daughter much in the time she'd been alive, but Chalandra had done her best to remember all she said. It wasn't exactly hard, considering she'd hardly been around to say much at all.
It was still dark as the grey female slipped up the slope of the Mesa, her eyes blinking slowly in the subsiding darkness. It was breezy, not uncommon for a lovely autumn day, and Chalandra breathed deeply in response. The air was so much clearer up here, so much lighter. Maybe it had to do with being closer to the gods. In truth, it wasn't that she really believed in Eperna or Iudex. She knew all the stories, all the tales mothers told their pups to keep them from wandering off or eating too much deer at once. It all seemed so surreal sometimes. How could there be such a thing?
Chalandra's eyes turned to search the heavens. If they were as all-powerful as the stories framed them to be, then they had the power to take Karlotte away from her. They had ripped Hroth and Berka away from her. What had they left her? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The only reason she felt obligated to at least acknowledge that there might be more than just rough winds and floating clouds in those dusky skies was because her mother had been such a devout follower. Even as she ran around with half the males she came across, she made sure to reminded her children to obey Eperna and pray to Iudex when they were troubled. How hypocritical. And on mornings like this, with her mind buzzing wildly, the world didn't seem so picture-esque.
Eperna, if you're out there, if you've ever cared, please help me. Give me a sign. Anything.
As she waited for the sun to rise, Chalandra studied the sky, her heart heavy. It had been years since she'd lost her mother. Years. And yet, something about the other day with Nirco had made all the memories rush back. She was being sappy, this wasn't like her. Anger threatened to rush in and consume, to overcome the soft emotions, but she pushed the feelings down. Now was not a time for anger. Now was a time for reflecting.
And maybe, listening.

Nirco
Nirco had begun to develop a routine over the last several days, something uncharacteristic of the wanderer. He had no home, no family and no friends that kept him pinned to one place. He would drift from here to there like a shadow slipping through the night. Very few knew he existed and those who did forgot or didn't care. The brute had preferred it that way, always craving the solitude he had come to know like an old friend. Yet something had begun to stir within him, something unfamiliar and unwelcome. Loneliness he had reluctantly admitted to himself. It was a dreadful feeling and one that didn't make sense to someone like him. For so long he repelled himself from contact. For so long he chased away anyone that dare get close. It had been easier that way. But had it been better? Nirco already knew the answer, and that answered drove him into this new routine.
He was searching for someone. Every damn day. Who, he didn't know. His former leader and the revenge he sought had, for the time being, slipped his mind. Now he simply looked. He looked everywhere his well-worn paws took him. Nirco didn't know what he planned to do or say if he ever found anyone and subconsciously he was hoping he didn't in order to avoid what he dreaded yet sought. He was so very confused.
It was silent. The birds were singing and the squirrels talking. But it was silent. As the sun peeked above the distant landscape, he stopped. This is hopeless he thought to himself whilst unceremoniously collapsing to the ground. He felt himself being tugged in every direction. One way pulled him back to the solitude he had welcomed for so long while the other pulled him forward to continue.
He wasn't sure how long he lay there before he regained enough sense to force himself up again. It was then that he caught the familiar scent on the morning breeze. The feeling of recognition was peculiar to someone not used to it, yet it did not stop him from moving forward. Step by step he got closer until he spotted the familiar grey she-wolf ahead. What are the odds?! And what the hell am I doing? Nirco could not help but wonder. The last meeting with this individual had not gone too smoothly. In fact he had more likely than not destroyed whatever friendship may of been blossoming between the two. He had frustrated her and confused her to no end, and she him. But the overjoyed feeling at the sight of another was hard to fight as it bubbled up inside him. Still, he remained mostly stoic and stubborn against it.
"Chalandra?" The name came out softer and gentler than he had intended, perhaps because he could sense something not quite right with the female. She had been a thorn in his paw last they met, but Nirco was finding it hard to hold a grudge against this one as he slowly approached, not fully believing that of all the wolves he could of found, it had to be her. For what could be the first time in years, he did not turn away at the sight of another.

CHALANDRA "Chalandra?"
As soon as the male spoke, every hair on Chalandra's body froze. It couldn't be. Out of all the wolves in Ravensbrück, the sheer likely hood of running into Nirco was astronomical. The she-wolf sat for a moment without a response, battling the emotions that bubbled inside her. The last time she'd seen Nirco, the parting of ways hadn't been as smooth as one would have liked. In her anger with the black male, Chalandra had stormed off. She was irritated with his reclusive lifestyle and utterly frustrated with the way she had wanted him so desperately.
Listen to him. It was a soft voice inside her that spoke, and Chalandra's heart picked up slightly at the suddenness of it all. And then, ever so slowly, she forced herself to turn and greet Nirco. "Hello." Her stance was rigid and uninviting, but her eyes flashed over him with an obvious longing inside. The nights she owned were lonely--hell, she could only imagine what his were like--and she had missed the sharp wit and challenge Nirco had provided her. She'd reminisced endlessly about him in the weeks between their first encounter and now. He reminded her so heavily of Hroth...
As the two stared at each other, Chalandra felt a heat rise into her face. Blushing, the silver she-wolf looked away, focusing her gaze on the pattern of clouds in the sky. She was nervous, if not anxious over seeing him. How had he found her? What had he done after she'd run off? What had he come here for? Well, I came here for a sign. The light bulb went off. She'd asked Eperna for a sign. She'd gone on her mother's faith, questioned the presence of a higher power. Had she really been ready to accept that crazed idea? Frankly, there was no way she could refute their presence now. They'd brought to her the wolf that had embittered her the most since her solo journey around the lands. It had to be a sign. It just had to be.
She had to make the first move. Taking a deep breath, Chalandra moved forward a few paces; what kind wolf greeted someone from ten fox-lengths away? She dared to meet his gaze again as she spoke, her voice hiding the emotions that raced through so feverishly in her veins.
"How did you find me?"
There was a reason she was here; what was his?

Nirco
"Hello."
He only nodded in recognition as a response. Truthfully, he was dumbfounded by this encounter already. There must of been thousands of wolves in Ravensbrück and yet here this one stood. The only one that had really crossed his mind over the few weeks since they had parted. The only one he had found since his search began. "You don't even know what you meant, or want--with me, with others, or with yourself." Her parting words from their last meeting had echoed in his mind time and time again. The male had been so angry at her accusations, wanting nothing more than to prove her wrong. He had not liked the way she spoke to him, as if she had known him. Yet over time he had come to realize that she spoke nothing but the truth. Nirco didn't know what he wanted and he didn't know what to say at this very moment.
As she took a few steps towards him, he could not help but take one back before halting the movement. His legs burned to turn and walk away, just as he had so many times before. This time, though, he did not give in. It was a force of habit he had to grow out of. Both for his sanity and maybe even the sanity of others. Such a lonely existence had taken it's toll and he was tired of it.
"How did you find me?"
The dark hued-make male stared at her for a long moment, his eyes searching. There was not that hard, cold gaze he gave so many. Instead, it had been replaced by one of understanding. There was something that had been troubling the she-wolf, and yet he did not ask. Prying wasn't in his nature, no matter how much the curiosity clung to him. If she felt the need to spill her troubles to him, she would do so. Still, he was a little confused by her question. Had he been searching for her? He wasn't sure. He had simply been looking. Who for, he hadn't known and he had thought that anyone would do, just to crush the silent life that had begun to destroy him. Now that he stood before Chalandra, Nirco found himself relieved that it was her. "I've been looking for someone" came his answer. It didn't clear anything up, he knew, but it's all he had to her peculiar question. Had she been expecting him?
Growing uncomfortable under her intense gaze, he moved around her to where she had sat upon his approach and lowered himself to the ground. There he lay, staring out at the horizon before he spoke again. "You never struck me as the type to watch sunrises." He turned his head to her then, his blue eyes teasing.

CHALANDRA "I've been looking for someone."
What had she honestly expected Nirco to say? Chalandra, her mind buzzing in confusion over the male's half-explained response, could only dip her head in silent acceptance. She was too tired to probe him further with her questions. For Eperna's sake, she hardly knew what to ask of him anymore. The whole situation was flustering and Chalandra found herself with more mixed emotions than she honestly knew what to do with.
Before she could even begin to assess her internal struggle, Nirco moved slowly to her side, laying down with an almost cautious approach. What the...? Chalandra was starstruck as they relaxed at the peak of the mesa together. This had to be some sick joke. Last time he'd completely turned down her advances, almost to the point of bruising her inflated ego. And now, after a few weeks apart, he was bedding down as if they'd spend the night together. Talk about some seriously mixed signals.
"You never struck me as the type to watch sunrises."
When Nirco's blue eyes focused on her, everything Chalandra had collected as a proper response was gone. He was right; she wasn't the type to watch sunrises. The only reason she'd ever remotely cared about the sun's position was to know when to bolt the next morning after an affair gone wrong with a clingy male. It had been her escape, her reason to leave. But now, here in this setting with Nirco... It almost seemed like a reason to stay.
"Not typically, no."
Chalandra forced a small smile, trying her best to not look the part of a she-wolf tied up in determining if there was such a thing as gods. She was overloaded with thoughts of her mother and brother, drained with the day-to-day loneliness that her lifestyle provided her. How in Eperna's name could she express that to Nirco? Signing, the she-wolf forced herself to take a breath before she started to, haphazardly clarify her first response.
"My mother had this crazy idea that the gods of Ravensbrück--you know, Iudex, Eperna, Turpa, and Farun--are real. She prayed to them daily and always told me and Hroth to ask them for guidance when we needed it."
Chalandra sighed softly before continuing, her blue eyes staring off on the horizon.
"I came up here to see if it all was true. She always said that the energy up here was stronger, that it was easier to communicate where the air was thinner and closer to their realm..."
She trailed quietly off, realizing how stupid she sounded. Nirco didn't seem like the type to believe in anything not visible, let alone some sketchy old nurse tales about wolves in the sky. Lowering her head to rest gently on her crossed paws, Chalandra grew quiet as she watched the sun creep further into the sky.
"I don't know what to believe in, anymore."

Nirco
Nirco was tense all over. From nose to tail his muscles were coiled from the very presence of another. What had been been expecting? That he would become a different wolf and open up so easily? It wasn't that easy, he was finding out. There was still that need to run away or fight off, anything to get away as he had gotten away from his old pack. And yet he did his best to shove it back every time it rose to the surface. He didn't need that right now. He needed to relax. He needed to trust.
It came as a relief to the male when the she-wolf began talking, going on about the gods he hadn't believed in since he was a youngster. Her words gave him something to focus on besides his own anxiety, even if he was so very confused by everything she said. Why was she telling him this? Why was she so hung up on mystical beings? Why was she searching for a sign from them? Had this been what was troubling her? It all seemed a little silly to Nirco when he thought about it, yet he did not laugh. There had to be more to the story than that.
"I don't know what to believe in, anymore."
He was silent for a long moment as he mulled over all of this. Chalandra had never struck him as the type to believe in such things, so it all came as a bit of a surprise that the conversation had taken this turn. Nirco had rarely given these stories of higher beings a second thought for years until this point. There are no gods he seethed inside his own mind, and if there are, why do they condone all the torture and terror in this land?. He ground his teeth together at the thought of all the injustices he had witnessed, but that was the only sign of his agitation on the subject.
It took the brute a minute to find his voice. "Well, did they offer you the guidance you seek? Or have your prayers gone unanswered?" he asked, looking up at the sky for a moment and finding it impossible to believe there was anything up there watching them. No he thought we're all on our own in this world. Maybe, if they had shown themselves to him, he would of accepted their existence. But everything he had seen and experienced had proved otherwise.

CHALANDRA "Well, did they offer you the guidance you seek? Or have your prayers gone unanswered?"
At Nirco's questioning, Chalandra visibly paused. Had they answered her? Or was it just sheer coincidence that Nirco, out of everyone, had shown up when he had? The she-wolf, with thoughts of her mother racing so prominently through her mind, was inclined to say it wasn't chance; but one side-long glance at Nirco's disbelieving facial expression was enough to steer her in the opposite direction. It was just by chance.
Was it? Her mother had been so steadfast in her beliefs; why wasn't she? It's not my fault. She's the one who ran around with every male from here to the Auktion Rock. Chalandra knew it was a cop-out excuse, but it gave her peace of mind for the moment. She didn't have time for all of this deep thinking. Besides, could she sincerely and faithfully believe in wolf gods that floated through the clouds and granted wishes to those who prayed the most? Her voice wasn't completely steady when she spoke, and Chalandra faked a cough to cover her insecurities.
"No, I suppose they haven't."
The silver she-wolf, her emotions still muddled, added to her first statement after a moment. Her voice was soft and gentle, almost a private whisper.
"I'm not really sure what I expected them to say."
And then, like a switch being flipped, the she-wolf carefully raised herself from the ground before pouncing flirtatiously onto Nirco's bigger frame. Chalandra growled softly, batting her blue eyes as if attempting to formally court the male. She breathed deeply for a moment before speaking, hoping that Nirco would accept her advances this time. She wasn't sure she could take another dismissal like the last one.
"But I do know what I expect out of you tonight..."
Her voice was of a darker quality now, slipping with seductive undertones as she was so prone to doing. She tugged coyly on Nirco's black ears, hoping to drive something further inside the male for a little bit of midday fun she'd somehow missed last time around.
"Come on, indulge me Nic."
Breathing heavily in the male's ear, Chalandra put on the brakes and rolled off to Nirco's side. The ball was in his court. Time for them to share this experience like she'd wanted from the very start.

Nirco
"No, I suppose they haven't. I'm not really sure what I expected them to say."
He stared at her for a few passing seconds, though no emotion danced upon his face. He was not at all surprised by the answer as he was fully expecting it. She had prayed to the gods and nothing had happened. But Nirco could not help but wonder what she had prayed for in the first place. The curiosity clawed at him, and yet he remained ever silent. Her secrets are none of my business he reminded himself.
He felt a weight suddenly come down upon his back, pulling him out of his wondering and curiosity. The brute went rigid instantly, muscles curling so tight he felt they might rip apart any moment. A growl threatened to erupt from deep within, but he forced it down before it could surface. The most he had been willing to do when his search began was converse with someone if he found them. Physical contact was a whole other matter entirely to the male. The she-wolf was lucky at his restraint and the fact he had, for the most part, accepted her thus far. Otherwise he may of lashed around and bit her. As it was, though, he kept his jaws off.
"But I do know what I expect out of you tonight..."
There was an unfamiliar shiver that went down his spine despite his current distress, something stirring within him from her seductive tone and the meaning behind her words. It was alien to him, as he had never experienced it or given what could transpire from something like this much thought before, not even during their first meeting. Still, the stubbornness within him remained.
"Come on, indulge me Nic."
The brute was up as soon as she'd slipped off his back, noticeably taking a step away from the she-wolf. He did not know what he wanted in that moment. There was a burning sensation within him to move to her and just give himself over and give her what she sought. But he was not a male so easily swayed. There were often consequences from such unions and Nirco liked to think himself level headed enough to not let his hormones get the better of him. Then again, he'd never been with anyone in such a way in the first place. And did he feel sick, or were those just butterflies?
"Chalandra," the words came out as serious as he intended them to. "This isn't wise. Please don't tempt me further." He shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut, attempting to clear the ideas that had sprung there from his mind. Females are so poisonous he mentally growled at himself. And he may of been with the most lethal one of all, one capable of making him cave. He prayed to the non-existent gods for a way out that did not involve running.

CHALANDRA "Chalandra, this isn't wise. Please don't tempt me further."
From Chalandra's point of view on the ground, Nirco looked positively uncomfortable. She studied him for a moment, letting the silence fall gently between them in a lapse. She had pursued him far longer than any other male and still he hadn't given into the wild desire she teased him with. His complaints had been ones of dislike and irritation at first. It had seemed that he'd hated the company, relished the loner life, and wished that she vanish. But now, with the way his tone was... Chalandra was half-tempted to grin. He was begging her to stop because he knew the end was eminent. Perfect.
Pulling herself off the ground, Chalandra moved slowly towards Nirco, letting her hips sway purposefully. She just needed to play her cards right and she would have him and his broad shoulders on her frame in a matter of moments; with that thought alone, Chalandra shivered in anticipation. I'm so close. The she-wolf lowered her head, looking up at the male with a tinge of excitement racing through her veins. She needed to provide him with just enough tangible passion to keep him thinking in that direction. At the last possible moment, she switched gears; Chalandra raised her head to rub it dantily along the male's side as she moved past him.
"Please share this with me. You've been all I've thought about these past few weeks."
Her voice wasn't the loud, outright, typical seductive demeanor she carried. It was gentler, with only simple underlays of armourous behavior lingering. She needed to completely win him over with emotion, not the physical things she could offer. That was the key here.
Chalandra circled back to walk parallel to Nirco's black fur. Her coat was a contrast of grey flecks, and as she slid her body against his, she licked the side of his mouth softly. Being attached and slightly ardent would hopefully appeal to Nirco's more rational decision making, while her physique could keep his male driven hormones raging. Controlling her voice to a mere whisper when she spoke, the silver she-wolf tried to emphasize her longing with a slow, careful blink of her blue eyes.
"I missed you, Nirco."
Her heart thumped with fervor for the male, and she moved swiftly in front of him. With a last glance over her shoulder, Chalandra rolled onto the mesa floor and gazed up at Nirco with her eyes pleading, if not waiting. Come on, Silent-paws. Don't hold out on me now.

The giant hill was a challenge for the smaller wolf, if not for her long legs she would not be able to make it up the steepest parts. There was no real reason that brought her to this area, she was just looking for a place to clear her mind. She made her way back to her pack, but there was no sign of anyone just yet. She was starting to worry, so needed the clear air to gather and collect her thoughts. She had no idea what was awaiting her at the top of the Mesa.
The small fem finally stepped out on leveled ground, pausing to catch her shortened breath. When she heard voices, her body automatically dropped lower to the ground. She crept forward, her audits perked froward to try and pull words out of the muffled jumble she heard. She found a low hanging bush and pushed her way into it silently, listening to the conversation from there. With their words now clear, she focused on picking out if she knew them or not. There was a taller black brute and a silver female. Her eyes opened wide when she realized that it was Nirco. The female looked similar as well, but she just couldn't put her paw on it. So she settled in her bush, her fur burning as she watched the two of them.
The conversation took an awkward turn when the female started to come onto Nirco. She felt her skin crawl, a gross shiver racing down her spine. He clearly did not wish for anything to happen, but she kept going for it. She felt disgusted, like she was watching a storm cloud block out the sun, not allowing it to shine. She felt the need to leap over there and save him, but he could stand up for himself. Right? So Echo waited, her mind screaming at her to just leave. It wasn't like her to spy on others, she was a lowly, obedient slave. What in the world was she doing? What would the others say to her? In fact, what would Nirco think if he found out that she was hiding in the bush? Oh the shame.
Echo watching with growing shame as the other female basically begged Nirco to lay with her. She could feel her skin grow heated as she watched the other one flop onto the ground, exposing herself to him. The ground was dry, meaning that when the wolf fell to the ground a cloud of dust blew towards her. The particles tickled her nose, causing a sneeze to rip through her. She froze, but knew that they had heard her. So with little choice, she crawled out of the bush and sheepishly smiled at the two of them. She hung herself low, not meeting eyes with either of them. Her red hued coat was covered with dirt and leaves, but she did not shake herself off. She was so ashamed, and scared to hear what would happen next.
"H-hello Nirco," she said bashfully, knowing that she might as well say something. She did not dare to meet his eyes as he spoke though, scared that his gaze alone would kill her with shame.

Nirco
Nirco's entire body was as stiff as a board and he did not seem to know which direction he should take. Of course there was that desire to have her, just as any male would have when a female threw themselves at their paws. It had been there the first time they had met, only it had been overtaken by his irritation and need to get away. Now, though, he wasn't so sure he disliked the idea as the seconds ticked by, even with potential consequences nagging at him. His body burned to be as close to hers as physically possible, something that came as a surprise to him. Yet his mind stayed somewhat stubborn, even through her desperate pleading. With all the males you've lured into your trap I doubt that he thought, eyes trailing over her sultry form. Well, maybe once won't be such a terrible thing.
He looked on the verge of giving in when a sneeze sounded from the bushes. He spun to face the intruder, a growl threatening to rip through his massive form. The familiar wolf that appeared stopped it before it got away. There stood someone he had seen only once since the departure from his pack. "Echo?" He wasn't sure whether to be relieved or upset over the timing of her appearance. "What are you doing here?" He asked, looking between Chalandra and his old friend a few times. What were the odds he'd encounter them both on the very same morning in the very same spot? And had she been watching and listening this whole time?
Turning his gaze to Chalandra, he made sure to send her as nasty a glare as he could manage as his mind cleared, though the look was halfhearted. There was a level of disappointment that flashed over his features at the same time, yet the male reminded himself maybe it was for the better. The last thing the brute wanted right now was fatherhood, which brought him to wondering how it was possible someone like Chalandra, so experienced with males, could of avoided such a problem her whole life. But that was a question for another day.
Looking back at Echo, he let his eyes trail over her for a moment, taking in all the dirt and every leaf stuck in her fur. Though for the most part he remained rather stoic, he could not help the flood of amusement going through his veins. "Take a roll in the bush, did you?" He asked, the corner of his mouth tugging up into something like a smirk.

CHALANDRA At the climax of their conversation, with Chalandra waiting for the pleasure she expected and Nirco battling his internal desires, there was a sneeze. The she-wolf, so surprised with the noise, blinked a few times before looking over to where the noise had come from. From the nearby brush slipped a small female, her ears and tail pulled down in some version of shame. The words that came out of her mouth were shaky and almost obligatory for the whole situation, and Chalandra noticed with narrowed eyes that the she-wolf refused to meet Nirco's gaze. Interesting.
"H-hello Nirco,"
Nirco had immediately responded with a sharp turn to meet the stranger and a threatening growl, but the noise died halfway and Chalandra's ears pricked to catch the male's response.
"Echo? What are you doing here?"
And then, as if she'd grown disgusting to him at a moment's notice, Nirco shot Chalandra a rude glower from where he stood between the two females. Indignation flared within Chalandra and she snarled softly, her irritation at the suddenness of the situation and the closeness to her goal having been snatched away rubbing painfully on her temper. Where the hell had she come from? Hadn't her mother taught her better than snooping around in business that wasn't her own? And we were so close... The silver she-wolf had half a mind to stalk over and wipe the prude fear off of Echo's face, but instead breathed deeply, pulled herself off the ground, and moved to stand parallel to Nirco.
For a moment an uncomfortable silence fell between them, and for once in her life, Chalandra was at a loss for what to do next. Should she take her exit now? These two definitely weren't strangers, and as soon as she moved her gaze from Echo, Chalandra could almost feel the judgments starting from the strange new female. Echo had caught them having fun--so what? They were adults. They could make those decisions for themselves. Besides, who was she to look at her like that? Prig.
"Take a roll in the bush, did you?"
It was a calm grin that spread across Nirco's face, and something inside Chalandra retracted at the sight. Out of all the females to encounter the pair of them at the Mesa, it just had to be one that he knew. Ugh. How could she turn this around effectively? Thinking quickly, Chalandra bumped her muzzle playfully into Nirco's shoulder before moving to greet Echo, rubbing her pelt close enough to brush fur. She'd show her the true definition of being sexual.
"I mean, I'm perfectly fine entertaining a party of three if you're more into that scene."
The flirtatious demeanor was back, trying vainly to overcome the interruption that had shattered her closest attempt to catch Nirco's affection. Her blue eyes fluttered as she circled the female to stand beside her, nudging her encouragingly.
"Come on, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it, doll."
And if not, he's all mine. Inwardly the she-wolf snarled; outwardly, her expression was all seduction. Either this would work or it wouldn't. Frankly, she hated the thought of a third-time-around rejection. Maybe she could find Zy if Nirco didn't come to his senses...

Echo almost turned tail and ran when Nirco's throat rumbled with a growl, but the fact that it stopped when he saw that it was her made her stay. She felt super flighty at the moment, having just committed the act of spying. What would the other female think of her, hiding in the bush like that? She was so ashamed, but she felt too awkward to leave. She felt as if she was almost obligated to stay to see where this conversation would take her. It was too late to back out now. She was fully drawn in now. She would have to see what happened and hope for the best.
When Nirco asked what she was doing here, she shuffled her paws and still did not meet his eyes. "I, uh, came up h-here to find the pack. I went home to Durkell but no one was there, s-so... yeah," she said, still slightly afraid of what the other female was going to do to her. She looked slightly irritated, and she also caught the glare that Nirco shot in her direction. Was there more going on between these two then she had witnessed? Her eyes drifted up from the ground as the silver wolf moved up to stand beside the brute, nudging him on the shoulder. She felt uncomfortable watching the exchange and allowed her gaze to travel back towards the ground. She felt more and more awkward as the moments ticked by.
She shuffled again when she felt the blue eyes of the male travel over her body, not even noticing that she was covered in dirt and leaves until Nirco said something. She snapped to attention then, now seeing the dirt and foliage all over herself. She giggled softly, looking up and bashfully smiling back at him. She shook herself slightly, knowing that it wouldn't do her any good. She needed a bath now, her short fur was acting like a static sheet allowing the dirt and little green leaves clung to her. So a bath was due, but she couldn't leave just yet. She hadn't seen Nirco for quite some time, and it was nice to see a familiar face.
"I mean, I'm perfectly fine entertaining a party of three if you're more into that scene."
The words that the female spoke confused Echo to no end. What did she mean, party of three? The femme met the others eyes, her lack of understanding quite clear in her green eyes. "I don't get it..." she woofed softly, looking boldly between the two wolves. Then it sunk in, her eyes growing wide. She meant... Gulping quite audibility, she took a few steps back. She couldn't mate with Nirco AND another female. How would that even work? She shuttered just at the mere thought of it.
The silver one nudged her in the side, causing her to flinch and try to hide her large scar. Was she going to hurt her? No, she was just speaking to her, telling her she would get the hang of it. Panic settled in then, her breaths coming out in sharp gasps. Her eyes were as wide as saucers, fear making them look darker. She couldn't mate, no no no! That was how pups were made. No. Death, pain, blood. Killing. Dead pups, her babies. Memories flooded into her mind as the thought of mating was made present. Echo took a few more steps back, feeling light headed from her ragged breathing. "I can't, no. No! I don't even know your name! I can't, I can't have puppies. I can't watch by babies get killed again. I can't," she said, sobbing heavily. She felt like her whole world was spinning, like she just wanted to jump off the cliff to end this whole thing. She looked up at Nirco, pleading him to help her. She needed to get out of this.

Nirco
The brute looked on and studied the two females interactions with both curious and wary eyes. He watched and listened as Chalandra slunk forward and spoke in that seductive tone he'd almost caved under and had grown all too familiar with. But the words that dripped from her lips like poison had an ill effect on his old friend. The way she shuddered and recoiled at the mere suggestion was not lost on him, and he could not help but worry for her well being. It was a curious feeling, as he had spent so much time alone and only thinking for himself. But it was definitely there.
Nirco knew Echo's background well enough, as he had known her since they day he was born and had learned the story of her ill-fated pups after the day she and her offspring had gone missing. This was only the second occasion they had met since then, both having escaped their old pack and been lead by fate on different paths. And yet all these years later he still found himself protective over this old packmate of his.
"I can't, no. No! I don't even know your name! I can't, I can't have puppies. I can't watch by babies get killed again. I can't,"
Her words had come out in ragged sobbing and the dark-hued male didn't want to watch this anymore. His eyes snapped to Chalandra then, a dark look overtaking him. "Cha, stop it. She's traumatized" he growled out before taking a few cautious steps forward and turning to the smaller red female. Perhaps he should of offered a comforting nudge, yet he kept a good distance. The thought of physical contact had once again become an unappealing idea. "Echo, calm down. She was only joking," a lie probably, as Chalandra had seemed completely serious in her offer.
Turning to look at the offender in question, his blue eyes softened noticeably. "Chalandra, this is Echo. A member of my old pack," he glanced at the smaller wolf then, hoping she wouldn't faint from the anxiety that was obviously overtaking her. "Echo, this is Chalandra. A... friend of mine," was that the right word to use? Friend? It didn't taste right on his tongue when he said it, for he felt more than that.

CHALANDRA "I don't get it..."
As soon as Echo said that, Chalandra sighed. It seemed she had to show every wolf she came across how to do anything in the realm of fun... The silver she-wolf turned from Nirco to encourage Echo again, but this time her fur stood on end at what she heard.
"I can't, no. No! I don't even know your name! I can't, I can't have puppies. I can't watch by babies get killed again. I can't."
Echo was obviously sensitive to whatever Chalandra had tried to push her with, and the result was a wolf who was backing up ever closer to the mesa edge.
"Cha, stop it. She's traumatized."
Nirco was swift to take steps toward the panicked she-wolf, but he stopped before they made contact. Pulling her ears back to lay smoothly against her head, Chalandra took a few steps back and half-way lowered herself to the ground. Her posture was anything but sexual and she hesitated saying anything until the female was slightly more calm. She'd never seen someone react so violently to her flirting. Nirco had been her only refusal so far, and that had been surprise enough. Chalandra, her legs wobbly from the whole affair, wasn't sure whether to try and comfort the she-wolf and make up for her behavior or just keep her distance and let Nirco handle it.
"Echo, calm down. She was only joking,"
As Nirco attempted to soothe Echo, Chalandra finally realized exactly what the black male had said. He called me 'Cha'. Not Chalandra. Not a nameless referral. Just 'Cha'. Blood pumping at the thought of Nirco's faint ardor, Chalandra tried her luck and crept forward. This time, however, she blinked apologetically at Echo and kept her eyes down. It was completely unlike her, this behavior, but with the way Nirco had reacted, she couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed in front of the other she-wolf.
"Chalandra, this is Echo. A member of my old pack; Echo, this is Chalandra. A... friend of mine,"
A friend? Chalandra's blue eyes looked questioningly at Nirco before meeting Echo for an 'official' first time. She was rather pretty, with pale green eyes and a very, very red pelt. And then Chalandra noticed the scar that ran from her right ear to her muzzle, forcing herself to smile politely instead of grimacing like she was inclined to do.
"I'm sorry about that. I had no idea."
Growing anxious over the whole situation, Chalandra sat back on her haunches and kneaded the ground as she glanced from Nirco to Echo. Where would this take them now? Would Nirco go back with Echo to her pack? The uncertainty was killing her, and Chalandra absentmindedly asked her question before she'd realized what she'd said.
"Will you be going back to her pack?"
