The soft thud of her heart was the only company that the smoke coloured female had while she lay on the cold floor of the cave. Her ears flat against her pretty face, bushy tail wrapped around her face, trying to avoid those around her. Not wanting to get targeted for a fight she didn't cause, or worse, killed. Her blue eyes closed in pain as the memories began to swirl around her, fighting their way past the blocks that she had set inside her mind.
I shouldn't be here. I should be with mother, Rue and Owl... Oh, please let them be okay.
Her misery had all started a month ago, and although it had started off pleasantly it had taken a sour end very quickly. Herself and her sisters had been playing at the water hole that morning. When they had returned to their home they had come across a large, sly looking brute standing beside their fragile mother. She looked away as Rue growled at him, saying he had no right to be there. Owl had merely flattened her ears and looked away. This brute Violet had later learned was her father. The one who had abandoned the family when he had realized he wasn't getting any sons from his mate.
He had tried to talk to Rue, tried to calm her down, but the elder sister didn't want any part of it. They had gotten angrier, and violence broke out. Although their mother had managed to put a stop to the fight, the brute never let it go. The month had dragged on. Rue, Owl and the male wolf had gotten into fight after fight, while Violet only looked on. Not sure where she belonged in any of it. It had finally ended when breeding season began, and their mother had refused to mate to him once more. He went into a terrible rage, and almost killed her, until Rue stepped in. He managed to drive her off, leaving Owl and Violet alone with their mother. That night he took both sisters to Auktion rock.
Violet looked up as a shadow fell across the front of the cave, growling at the other wolves around her to follow him. She hesitantly got up and followed the rest, her coat brushing against the stone walls as he led them down a narrow pathway. Her blue eyes were curious as she gazed around her, and felt her heart plummet even further. She really was at Auktion rock. She was going to be sold as a slave.
The line slowed, then stopped as one by one they were shoved onto a large platform. Wolves of many kinds lined the tall canyon walls, shouting and yelling out. Violet shuffled forwards, her nose brushing against the one in front of her. She sneezed softly. Her mind whirred as the line thinned, and soon her paws fell into the paw steps of those before her. She gulped as the guard shoved her out into the sunshine. Blinking in confusion, the shouting swirled around her from every direction, and without knowing what else to do she slunk onto her belly in fear.
"Young female, about two and a half years of age. Gray wolf by the looks of it, blue eyed, and smoke coloured. Get her up and trot her around." The announcer ordered a guard near by. Violet felt a sharp kick to her ribs and she leaped up. He growled at her to trot or he'd snap her neck. Violet looked at him in confusion and slowly began to jog, unsure of what he really wanted. "Nice movement, skittish temperament, very obedient. Who wants her?"
(Sort of a sucky post, I had one originally, but it didn't send.)

KASIMIRA As the high canyon walls rose before the black she-wolf, she stopped for a moment, watching carefully as more and more wolves trickled into the Auktion Rock's grounds for the midday sales. Now was when the largest rush of sklavin was made, with dominors rampant and merciless on the wolves they claimed. When she had been a new Alpha and unknown to the lands of which she claimed, the scent alone had been enough to make her blood curdle and her hair stand on end. Anymore, however, the activities that were carried out here, lathered in immorality and sin, were puppy play.
She moved on with a little more resolve, pulling her ever slouching shoulders back and tossing her chiseled head proudly, if not smugly. Here, she was still invincible. She wasn't a pupless mother, she wasn't a wolf with endless nightmares, she wasn't without pack members, she wasn't the weakness of a growing mental holocaust. She was Kasimira the Queen; Kasimira the strong dominor; Kasimira the resilient, Alpha of Irrsin. No one here knew of her missing offspring, of the horror that would await her when she returned home. Maybe that's why she had come. She needed a break, something to get her mind off the situation at hand.
Kasi had positioned herself near the front of the growing crowd, shoving through the tighter throngs with a soft snarl or a heavy push of her hips. Most realized who she was and made their apologies, asking where she had been, making small talk. It was reassuring, this sense of belonging and normalcy. Maybe it was all a dream. She would get back to Irrsin and Marzell and Adelina would be there waiting for her...
"Young female, about two and a half years of age. Gray wolf by the looks of it, blue eyed, and smoke colored. Get her up and trot her around."
Over the mingling of wolves, the snippets of conversation, a guard shoved a female forward. In swift response, the grey she-wolf fell into her paces well enough, at least given the situation. The queen's blue eyes traced the sklavin's figure, watching as she trotted along. Kasimira could feel the nervousness of the small wolf as she moved, her legs trembling and her eyes slightly widened. Kasimira watched with a slight disdain. Welcome to the real world, sister. The queen turned her blue eyes away. She had no use for another female sklavin. Besides, Irrsin didn't really have the resources for another wolf at the moment.
"Nice movement, skittish temperament, very obedient. Who wants her?"
A few males growled approvingly, but for a few moments there was almost silence underneath the thud-thud that the female's paws made on the raised ground. It was a simple pace, almost lazy. Kasimira's eyes narrowed and she raised her voice to the crowd gathered around her.
"You call that a trot? Looks more like a rabbit hop to me."
A few wolves snickered as Kasimira moved towards the stage. Something was rising in her, and she had no intention of letting the sudden fire burn out quite yet.
"I'll take her. She obviously needs more training than the Auktion Rock guards can instill."
Without a glance at her new sklavin, Kasimira moved back through the masses, some wolves stepping aside to make room. She sauntered purposefully to the back portion of the Auktion Rock, turning around only once to make sure the she-wolf was actually following. The black fur that usually laid flat was spiked on the neck, and her paws itched for a fight of some sort.
"So, what's your name, missy? And how did you get here?"
Kasimira settled back on her haunches, the blue eyes staring down the female without effort. Let's see how soon she caves.

The thud of her paws as they hit the rocky surface, calmed Violet very little as she made circle after circle. Her ears flickered at the sound of the growing crowd and she felt a lump rise in her throat. The young female paused for a minute, before a low growl from a near by guard forced her to continue. Why are they making me trot around anyways? How strange this all is. She crinkled her nose as she lost herself to the questions that were whirring around in her mind. She was pulled from them soon enough, when a loud call sounded over the low buzz from the crowd.
"You call that a trot? Looks more like a rabbit hop to me."
Hurt clutched at her heart as the words fell over her, and she tried to look around at who had said it. Her mother had always told her had such lovely movement. Her eyes scaled the walls, and she began to pick out familiar faces. Faces of those who had boarded her mother's lands- those she had known since she was a pup. A large black wolf with a white face avoided her eyes as she tried to make him look at her, another small russet male near by curled up his lips. They had shared overlapping boundaries with her mother, allowing them to stay on their lands as long as they didn't take to much big game. The multi-coloured male had once shared a dear with the small family out of the kindness of his heart. Why aren't you trying to help me? Violet thought to herself in dismay.
Both of these wolves could easily take her and Owl then possibly reunite them with their mother. Maybe they could even find Rue. Come on Jakura, I know you know me. Keal? Please Keal, just open your mouth and claim me. Her eyes screamed at them to help her, but neither opened their mouths. Preferring instead, to look away or stare at their paws.
"I'll take her. She obviously needs more training than the Auktion Rock guards can instill."
Her head whipped around as a large female pushed her way through the crowd and her heart dropped at her words. She had been claimed.. but not by the ones she had wanted. Without so much of a glance at Violet, her new "master" turned and pushed her way back into the crowds. Violet lifted a paw to follow hesitantly, wondering if that's what she was supposed to do, then glanced over one last time at Jakura and Keal before following the she-wolf.
She scrambled off the rock, and nearly fell head first into the sand below. Wolves near-by chuckled at her unorthodox style, and Violet felt herself go hot with embarrassment. With a flick of her bushy tail, she quickly scrambled off after her new master towards the back of Auktion Rock, happy to be away from the eyes of the other wolves. She slowed to a walk, then stopped as the female stood before her. The inky black female easily towered over her small frame, and she instantly slunk to the floor, unsure of the female's temperament. Icy blue eyes looked over her as she settled, her belly fur brushing the floor.
"So, what's your name, missy? And how did you get here?"
Violet looked at her curiously, her brain trying to wrap around such an easy question. "U-" She began, but stopped as she realized she had squeaked like a bird. Glancing away from the female's blue gaze she answered her. "M-my name i-is Violet, or Vi." Her voice trembling as she answered. She knew she sounded incredibly pitiful, and pathetic, but the way the other wolf held herself showed that she was powerful. She continued to look away, and shuffled on her paws, clearly uncomfortable with the last question. "My- My." She sighed, "My-father sent me here.."
[Not sure why I can't get Bold or Italics atm!]

KASIMIRA "M-my name i-is Violet, or Vi."
Even though the she-wolf's voice trembled as she spoke, Kasimira had noticed the change in demeanor when Vi had been removed from the main claiming area. Not relaxed, but not completely on edge. Hopefully she wouldn't be one of the super shy types--if she was, Irrsin would be a lonely place for her. Calliope and Matrid had been some of the best females she'd found at the Auktion Rock, and after the fire they were no where to be found. She'd searched for them just as hard as she had for her lost pups, hoping against hope she would find someone. Nothing. They were probably dead for all she knew, and here she was, trying to replace them..
Pull it together. Kasimira's less emotional side kicked in, forcing her to abandon the painful memories. She had a job to do, she couldn't be distracted. She would mourn for her friends later.
"My- My." Pause. "My-father sent me here.."
The sklavin had decided to give another tidbit of information in Kasimira's lapse, and her eyes flickered a soft recognition. She sounded terrified more than anything. Hmph. In a way, Kasimira realized with a jolt, the two of them were not so different. This she-wolf had just lost her family, and at the paw of her father. Kasimira too, was grieving for her lost pack mates. Maybe they could be good acquaintances, if not something of friends...
What the hell was she thinking? Her mind was all over the place, with the faces of Calliope and Matrid drifting through her conscious. This sklavin was nothing like her. Obviously Vi's family hadn't cared about her enough--less so since she'd been sold into slavery. What kind of father did that? What kind of mother or siblings allowed him to? In Kasimira's scenario, her children and friends had been riped from her by nature. No one had left her deliberately. No one had run away. (Except maybe Zy, but he was another case completely.) They had all been taken, forced to scatter. And by her standards, that was the difference.
Kasimira, her blue eyes looking Violet over boldly, narrowed her eyes before standing. Her anger, although completely unrelated to the she-wolf in front of her, was blinding her decision making. She needed to give her a job, she needed to make her understand her place. What could she use her for?
And like a fire igniting, an idea sparked inside of her.
"You will be my daughter's personal sklavin from here on out."
Kasimira, with blue eyes glittering, began to explain the position further. As she talked, she circled Violet, once more staring her new sklavin down with the eyes she had become known for.
"Her name is Dresna, and she is the first born heir to our pack. I expect you to follow her wishes--she will train you in our hunting style as well as defensive and offensive attacks. If you perform well, you have a possibility to gain your freedom and join our pack as a respected member. Mess up, however, and the consequences will be severe."
She paused, having circled the female once. What else would she need to know?
"I will overview your training, but Dresna will be your immediate master. Do I make myself clear?"
The queen moved to sit before the sklavin, her tail wrapped over her paws and the regal posture pulled into place. This would at least get her mind off of her friends, if only for a short while. Violet would be required to prove herself. Just as Calliope and Matrid had been.

Violet waited for the she-wolf’s reaction to her story and wasn’t surprised when she didn’t get one. It seemed that her new Dominor had a strong grasp on what she showed to those around her. Violet didn’t mind though, she was used to the strong silent types after her sister Rue. She shuffled on her paws as the silence continued, and she flicked her ears impatiently. Her grey eyes wandered a little while she waited for her new Master to say something, completely unaware of the internal battle that was occurring with the older wolf.
The sounds of Auktion rock were muffled by the line of trees, and she shuddered as the auctioneer called out the last wolf. Shortly after, what sounded like snarls erupted, and shouting began. She looked over shoulder, afraid that they were close by, but realized they were only fighting over the wolf being auctioned.
"You will be my daughter's personal sklavin from here on out."
Her head whipped around as she realized she had spoken to her. What did she say? Was that important? Of course that was important if she was talking to you.. Pay attention! Holding her breath like she did each time she lied, she nodded in response as if she had understood her order, hoping the she-wolf would repeat herself.
Violet breathed a sigh of relief as she continued, going on about her new duty to the heir of their pack. Anxiety clutched at her heart, and she tried to hide it, but her emotions showed clearly in her eyes. Rue had began her training, but had given up quickly once she realized her sister didn’t have the heart in fighting, or the stomach for hunting.
"I will overview your training, but Dresna will be your immediate master. Do I make myself clear?"
The young she wolf nodded, “Yes, you do.” Hoping she sounded a little bit more confident than she did in the beginning. Her thoughts flickered as she realized she didn’t even know her name, can I ask her name? Am I allowed to do that? I think so, I mean, how can I be in her pack if I do not even know my Alpha’s name? “May I ask a question?” She began, then continued without waiting for answer, “What’s your name?”

KASIMIRA “Yes, you do.”
"Wonderful. Follow--" “May I ask a question? What’s your name?”
Before Kasimira had the opportunity to get a word in edge wise about returning to Irrsin to meet Dresna, Violet had already got the question out and was waiting for a response. Almost immediately, a rush of surprise and ferocity ripped over Kasimira's skin and she narrowed her eyes in a silent response. Time to show this sklavin who she was dealing with.
The Irrsin queen flashed out a paw at the female's face, attempting to drag her claws across the ash-colored cheek. She wasn't going to get away with being so direct as to demand something of her dominor. Kasimira snarled as she pulled her paw back to the ground, stepping forward to shove her muzzle as close to Violet's white splashed one as she could. Her eyes were blazing and the fire was hauntingly warm inside her chest as she spoke.
"Don't you ever speak to me like that again! And for good measure, don't you make so much as a peep unless spoken to."
With her stance broad and her tail raised to show her dominance, Kasimira growled deeply one last time before stepping back. She ignored answering Violet's question, instead turning toward the one and only exit of the Auktion Rock. The black she-wolf highly doubted that a "follow me" would be needed to keep her little friend in line now. Moving swiftly, Kasimira barked a few haughty goodbyes to the other dominors gathered a little distance away before launching herself into the opposing serenity of the woods.
The pair moved quietly into the undergrowth, Kasimira leading the way with her long strides and sweeping gait. This was her domain, and it served well in relaxing her. The Auktion Rock was a high strung place, no matter what rank of wolf visited. Kasi herself couldn't visit too often; the scent alone was enough to drive her away after a particularly long visit. Still, it was nice to run through the woods like old times. If she just didn't look back, the wolf behind her could have been Calliope or Matrid following her home...
But it wasn't. She needed to quit trying to trick herself into happiness. Sighing, the queen glanced quickly back at the trailing sklavin. Growling with a rising temper, Kasimira snarled a few words under her breath.
"Keep your eyes on the ground, sklavin. Have you no manners?"
Kasimira, her pace increasing, simply rolled her eyes before facing forward again. She needed to get to Irrsin. Dresna was about to have quite the pawful to deal with in this one.

Violet let a small smile escape her lips while she waited, her large doe-like eyes innocent, unaware of how wrong she had been to ask a question. Suddenly she was seeing stars, and her neck cracked in protest as the Queen slapped her face, claws taking away cheek fur. Blinking away tears she pressed her chin into her neck as icy blue eyes blazed into hers, wanting to escape the sudden expression of fury on the other wolf’s face.
"Don't you ever speak to me like that again! And for good measure, don't you make so much as a peep unless spoken to."
The frightened female could only nod in meek agreement, as her brain scrambled around what had just happened. She had never been struck before. Of course she had had the usual practice fights with her siblings, but the blows were only out of playfulness. Never out of anger. Violet felt her legs turn to jelly as she looked at the powerful stance of the Dominor, the eyes narrowed, and the air rippling with tension. The other female waited a few moments, allowing her words to sink in, before turning towards what Violet presumed the exit was. The smoke-grey female slunk after her, barely even noticing the other wolves as they passed by.
Her paw steps traveled over a well worn dirt path, and soon crossed into thick under brush. With a flick of her tail, the Alpha female leaped into a strong, and graceful run, forcing Violet to look up as they ran. She didn’t want to embarrass herself further by running into a tree or crashing over a log. Vi looked around as they ran, enjoying the scenery as they passed underneath ancient trees or through small creeks. Slowly Violet began to forget the harsh encounter, and felt herself relax as the sounds of small animals filled her ears. Maybe she could actually enjoy her new life, maybe it wasn’t going to be so bad. However, her hope was crushed when the Queen looked over her shoulder and snarled at her once more.
"Keep your eyes on the ground, sklavin. Have you no manners?"
Violet’s pale eyes nearly fell out of their eye sockets because she had looked down so fast. She felt heat rising in her body at another scolding from the other wolf so soon after the first one. Since when was looking where you were going a crime? Is this how it’s going to be? Am I expect- her thoughts were interrupted as she fell tail over snout across the forest floor. She rolled a couple of times, but stopped as she hit a tree trunk. The world spun as she tried to regain her senses, and realized she was upside down, her back pressing against an oak tree, and her rump in the air; tail brushing her nose. Violet wanted to bury herself in a hole as wave after wave of embarrassment quickly washed over her. She strained her eyes, trying to see where the Dominor was, hoping she hadn’t seen her fall. Violet scrambled up, her claws digging into the dirt, as she righted herself. The Sklavin looked over herself, and was dismayed to see mud, twigs and branches buried into her coat. Turning herself around she began to clean herself off, still not knowing where the other wolf was.
