S I NEAD * Heaven holds a sense of wonder And I wanted to believe that I'd get caught up When the rage in me subsides
Dry. That was her first impression of this place.
It was workable, of course. Sinead had passed a stream on her way in so water and fish were resources. And hadn't she seen a scraggly rabbit leaping across the hard soil? Yes, it would work.
Sinead wasn't sure when she'd decided to claim a land of her own. Anyone who knew her would have laughed. She could be so listless, always searching, never finding. But perhaps...perhaps this was what she was searching for? She didn't make bad decisions. In fact, when she put her mind to it, she had been complimented on her "potential leadership skills", as an ex-pack member had once informed her. She could hunt and fight, if she needed to. So what was stopping her? She couldn't find herself a home, so why not create her own? Sure, her pack members would have to be patient with her. She could be snappy, sometimes a bit snooty, and other times she just wasn't in the mood to deal with trivial things. But they would learn, over time, the way that she was. They would realize her boundaries, and how to keep on her good side, and what ticked her off. Building a family was hard, but she could certainly do it.
Quickly, the multicolored she-wolf made her wade to a corner of the land where the dens were, nothing more than carved out holes in a dusty wall that sloped off into an incline. Hm. This would do, she supposed. It wasn't lush or thriving, but it was doable, and she already found herself growing a bit...fond of it. Of course, this would require her to take slaves. She'd known that when she idea first popped into her head, however. And it was fine. Good, strong packs needed members of every ranking. Slaves included. She had learned that from all the packs her mother had dragged her through, all of the unlikely friends she had made...yes, she thought she knew very well how to run a pack. Eperna, be with me.
Her mind suddenly made up, Sinead's ocean blue eyes flickered, ablaze with determination. She tossed her head back, parting her muzzle as a melodic, meaningful howl rang out across the empty land. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a lizard skitter across the dirt. After a few moments, she lowered her delicate muzzle, her tail held high as she stared out across Einheit. There was a tug somewhere in her chest, a rolling in her stomach that signified both excitement and nerves. This was it.
She was almost certain of it.
