OoC: Sorry this is super short guys!! But I hope it's an alright start to a family thread!!! :D Spring was upon the Anbruch Meadow and curious cautious eyes looked at everything. The rolling waves of the grass caused the small pup to gasp and back into a warm body or her mother's leg. Once she was sure the grass wouldn't hurt her. She cautiously sniffed a green blade and smiled as it tickled her nose. She put herself busy sniffing each and every blade of grass. She didn't know that she was smelling earth and grass and rock, and underneath those scents she would be able to smell the wolves that were before her. For now she was content with just that.
She was so tiny. Just old enough to explore the safety of the meadow. The first time she'd ever seen the outside. The sun at first burned her eyes but the light brown eyes were slowly getting used to it all. Her fur was just fluffy and had not yet taken on a full coloring. At the moment she was shades of grey with white on her paws. No spots yet though she was born with them on her skin. What colors she would be when she got older would be a mystery till she turned three months old. Then her spots would grown and her fur would darken to brown. She was to be a pretty little gypsy. Quiet and shy, a sweet wolf deep down with love for her family. Though for right now she was just quiet and fearful of everything that moved.
Happily she discovered that she could hide in the taller grass. She did just that and laid down. She was nestled happily in the warm grass. Though she didn't know what it was, she would surely bug her mother with many questions. Why did the grass move? Why was it this weird color? Why did it smell funny? In fact her head was almost hurting at the questions she wanted to ask. Ashona lifted her head carefully out of the tall grass and spotted her mother, she darted from it and pressed her little body into her mother's forelegs. She looked up at her mother with happy and trusting eyes and laughed "Mommy!

SAYANG Spring had come sweepingly into the land in the past few weeks, Sayang too busy with the early moments of motherhood to be bothered over such things. Today, however, was different. It would be the pup's first time outside the den, the first time they'd seen real grass and sun and trees that made up their wooded wonderland. They knew nothing of the beautiful rivers or streams, nothing of the captivating mountains or the reverence of the Hagen Mesa. Sayang tried in vain to see the world through their eyes as she led them cautiously into the sunlight, watching as their eyes blinked rapidly to accommodate their lacking eyesight.
Ashona was the first to bustle forward, her legs eager as she threw herself into the grass. Her coat was a pale, creamy grey and Sayang had to force herself to keep her lips covered at the thoughts it invoked. Phantom. The memories he'd given her were seared on her mind, inked into her subconscious. Ever since he'd taken advantage of her she'd been known to jump at the smallest scuffle behind her or growl warily at anything that moved too quickly. He'd made her fear her own shadow, a notion that was both demoralizing and humiliating for the once proud racer.
Xanthos was quick to follow his sister with Seerten swift on his heels; with one leap the three pups fell into a growling and yelping pile further off in the grass. They rolled over and over, playfully swatting at each other and gazing with a lively interest at anything that piqued their enthusiasm. Nervous, the young mother didn't hesitate to follow the three with a glancing, anxious look, caught between watching the shadowed surroundings and her precious young. She didn't know the land well enough yet to trust anything, much less allow her only true kin out of her sight.
"Mommy!"
Sayang flinched at the name before mentally shaking herself and searching for her daughter. She was a mother now. She had to start acting like it. Whether she liked the circumstances or not, they were here, alive and breathing. They deserved a chance at life. And a life better than hers had turned out to be at that. Taking a deep breath, Sayang carefully trotted over to Ashona, leaning down to nuzzle her beige daughter with her own muzzle. She growled playfully before stepping away, the chocolate eyes shifting to check in on the two males. Xanthos had Seerten pined to the ground, his tiny teeth nipping a little too harshly on his sibling. Sayang pulled her ears back and snarled a warning before glancing back at Ashona.
"What's wrong, honey?"
Her voice was tired and weary, her body run down from the days of caring for the pups that were seemingly endless. Now that she considered it, she hadn't even hunted for herself, having only eaten the scraps that Stolz had faithfully brought her. Stolz, what a father figure he'd been.. That was another hurdle she wasn't exactly keen on getting over. In a few months wouldn't they begin to wonder who their father was? Or would they just assume it was the Koravelle King himself? Sayang shook her head. She couldn't possibly allow them to think that, with Stolz having a mate of his own.
The she-dog sighed exhaustively before flopping down on the grass. Hopefully they wouldn't ask her anytime soon. They were so young, and besides, it was much too soon to tell them the truth. Sayang looked over at her daughter before motioning for Ashona to join her in the long meadow grasses. Maybe they'd enjoy a story she'd heard. Pups liked stories, right? Uneasy and timorous, Sayang called to the others, tempting them with something she hoped would quell their energy, if only for a short while.
"How would you all like to hear a story about Eperna?"

Seerten Deep brown eyes blinked rapidly as new found light pooled into them. A small whimper passed from his lips as he was assaulted by the sights out side of the safety of his dark den. The long legged pup stumbled outside of the den after his brother, spotting his sister already resting in the grass. "Hi!" he yipped, leaping on top of the fluffy white ball of fur, happily rolling around to accommodate the weight of his brother who had now joined the ball of pups. Seerten laughed with joy, the blades of grass tickling his mixed lengths of fur. De-tangling himself from his siblings he rose on shaky legs, taking a few bounding steps and then falling on his face. Yelping in surprise the pup stood back up on his long legs. "Stuupid legs," he mumbled, then trotted away from the others.
What was this wondrous place around him? There was soft, plushy grass beneath his feet and the sound of bugs and birds making their own songs. Ten yipped in reply, a smile showing off his milky white teeth. They were small, but sharp. Suddenly he was shoved into the ground, his brother standing on top of him and biting his ear. Seerten yelped loudly and turned around, his chocolate brown eyes wide. He didn't want to fight! What did he do? A growl from his mother sent Xanthos off of him and the off-white male scrambled to his paws and then darted away, hiding behind a tree stump. His breathing was quick and he tried to catch it, fear ramming in his heart. He didn't like fighting, not even the play kind! It was not nice, he didn't to anything to deserve his brother on top of him. With a snort the pup looked around, a butterfly catching his attention. With another smile Ten took chase.
It was so beautiful, that flying insect. Its wings were blue with black dots and lines covering it. It looked so soft, he just had to touch it! The male barked at the butterfly, whining when it flew to high. He tried to jump up and nip at it with his teeth, but it always rose higher. He moaned and groaned, but the little thing didn't want to play with him. Seerten plopped onto the ground then, giving up. That's when he realized that he had wandered a little far. "Mommy?" he called, standing up and looking around him. "Mommy!" -------------- Stolz Finally, Koravelle had been blessed with Spring. It had seemed to take its time coming into these lands. He was thankful though, because that meant that Sayang's pups were born just in time. He bet that they were out in the meadow now, there timid mother laying with them bundled at her side. It also meant that they were safe, and that prey was plenty. That is why he was going there now, he had been chasing down a small boar for the dog all day. It was a quick one, and it even clipped him on the flank with its split hooves. It had bled a little, but not enough to worry him. It had stopped already. It was heavy, Stolz ended up having to drag it. At least he caught it close to the meadow...
Stolz stopped for a rest, panting to catch his breath. He glared at the boar, blaming all of his troubles on the dead animal. At least it would make Sayang happy and full. Sayang... Her name brought a shiver to the large brute, shaking his entire frame. He cared for her way more than he should, his father had sent him a mate to rule by his side. Elektra was great, but he... he didn't love her. With a sigh he picked up the pig and started dragging again, walking backwards into the meadow. Then, a tiny cry reached his ears. "Mommy!" Seerten? Letting go of the meat he sniffed the air, straining to get past the small of fresh kill. There is was! He chuckled, the little one must have wandered off. "Seerten?" he called, dragging the boar towards the scent of the little one. He soon saw the off white male with faded dots covering his coat. The pup didn't seem to recognize him, backed away a bit from him. "Easy there! I can bring you back to your mother," The little one nodded, then followed behind the Alpha as he dragged the boar towards Sayang.
Soon he saw her shape come into view, and he smiled over the hide of the boar. "I brought you something, and found someone for you," he said with a chuckle, dropping the boar by her paws and watched as Seerten raced to her side. He smiled even wider when the little pup buried into his mothers side. He had probably scared himself half to death by wandering so far away.
