Kronos The journey back as passed in relative quiet. Kronos had nothing to say to his newly acquired slave and he was sure he didn't care what she had to say to him. The sky had grown dark during his return, turning from azure blue to indigo. Though the western sky burned with the last light of the dying sun, stars were already beginning to appear. As visually appealing as the sunset was, Kronos knew it would make guiding Fluer through Groavche that much harder. The swampy land was speckled with pits and areas of loose, spongy dirt. While this made it hard for anyone to walk in uninvited, it also made things difficult for the wolves Kronos wanted to come in.
It wasn't long before they reached the border. Here Kronos stopped, allowing Fluer to get her first good look at her new home. "As part of this pack, there are some expectations." His voice competed to be heard with the sounds of frogs and crickets. "You will hunt for the pack before hunting for yourself. Prey here isn't as plentiful as other places," his muzzle twisted in a grimace, "so you will also be expected to chase off prey-thieves." No such trouble had afflicted Groavche yet, but loners and rogues could be found everywhere in Ravensbruck.
"Of course, you must exclusively loyal to this pack. If we are attacked or if we invade," Kronos stood a little straighter, thinking of the pompous fools living large in Regnen, "you will be required to fight." He stepped back a bit and surveyed his newest slave. She was thin and lithe; not exactly intimidating. "Do you have any fighting experience?"

Fluer "well, an eye for an eye and an f for fight" It was quiet. The tension between the two was almost unbearable for Fluer. The silence that was only broken by their light footsteps was unnerving. It was like waiting for something to happen... and it never did. So she just kept up the the brute in front of her, determined to prove her worth. She kept pace with him, only lagging back slightly. Fluer didn't want to trot beside him. He'd probably see her to be overconfident. Her ears were pricked forward, waiting for him to stop suddenly and tell her that they had arrived.
Her stopped and spoke, his voice barely heard over the sudden symphony of creatures bursting into song. It was quite a change from the quite journey home. The land that spanned out before her was marshy and dark, vines and mud surrounding them. It was wet and humid in the territory, but she could live with it. The swamp water had already soaked her feet. Fluer liked it, however. It had a lot of cover for her to hunt, even of the only thing she could eat was the frogs. Fluer was excited to be a part of something, despite her worthless position.
"My previous domineer was a lazy ass." She snorted. "Of course we had intruders, as it wasn't a secret how incompetent he was." She shrugged. Everyday was a struggle to find food without a rival wolf or rouge trying to steal it from them. Fluer had to learn how to use her size to her advantage. "I have experience- but I am no soldier. I just know how to defend myself and how to chase off hungry rouges." Fluer flicked her tail, remembering those times. She would need further training but it was alright for now. "taking me down as the prisoners riot."

"My previous domineer was a lazy ass."
Kronos snorted along with Fluer. One thing he couldn't stand was a lazy wolf. He had fought and bled to achieve the position he held today, and to see a dominor take his power for granted made Kronos' hackles rise. He believed that every member of a pack should work for their keep; even the old or weak could take on the less demanding jobs. This, he was convinced, was where Groavche would surpass its more privileged neighbors.
"I have experience- but I am no soldier. I just know how to defend myself and how to chase off hungry rouges."
"Better than nothing," Kronos grunted. At least she wasn't delicate or pampered.
He swept his gaze over the land visible in front of them. He heard rather than saw the frogs the lived in the swamp, but he knew several would be gathered at the small pond just past the trees ahead. In addition, a few furry creatures also made their home in the marshy land. He turned his eye to his new sklavin. She must be itching to hunt after being denied it for so long at the Rock.
"Night is closing in quickly. If you want to eat, now would be the best time to hunt."
He intended to keep an eye on her as she stalked her prey. What Fluer lacked in fighting prowess, she might make up for in hunting skills. If she didn't, he would have to know what she needed instruction in. Plus, hunting in a swamp was different from hunting in a forest or a meadow. The ground shifted and water carried vibrations. Kronos remembered his first few weeks in Groavche, where he had battle against the swamp just to feed himself. His bulk had not made it easier, causing his paws to sink too far into the mud and making it hard to hide in the cattails beside the water. But in the end, he had been victorious. The swamp was truly his now.
