Quill
" One of Life’s simple joys is playing with the boys” (Kenny Loggins – Playing with the boys <Top Gun>)
this is me in the flesh,
NAME:Quill
NICKNAME(S): Hard to shorten Quill!
PRONUNCIATION:Quill...as is
POSITION: Rebel for the Koravelle plot
taste the sky,
AGE: 3
GENDER:Male
BREED:Maned Wolf
HEIGHT:40 inches
APPEARANCE: This tall wolf might as well be a stork for how long his legs are in comparison to his body. He’s limber, but lacking some of the bulky muscle that would make him a strong fighter. A black furry ridge starts at the base of his skull and flows down to the shoulder blades, rather like a horses’ mane. His mother actually gave him his name for the way his ridge of fur seemed determined to stick out more than the other pups, like little porcupine quills. The majority coat is a red-orange shade, like the color of the sun once its nearly vanished from the horizon. Quill’s legs from the knee’s down, his muzzle, tail tip, and the tops of the ears are raven black, while the tips of his back paws are white. Either his tail is too short, falling only to about his knees, or perhaps it is just more proof of his legs being too long. His eyes are a rich brown color, set evenly between the slender muzzle.
thoughts that make me go insane,
PERSONALITY: Rebellion is something this wolf knows and thrives in. Peace is boring, like a rock that never moves. Chaos, rebellion, wars and other such affairs are sure fire ways of not getting bored. Quill doesn’t particularly enjoy seeing others getting injured; he just doesn’t bother to let it hurt him. While he will fight if necessary, he has no concern of injuring his pride should he run away. What good are long legs if you don’t use them to outrace someone? Quill will gladly play the part of the cold blooded heartless murderer, or the sympathetic supporter, whatever will stir up the most action. Wolfs may not play chess, but if they did you could bet that Quill would be quite the player. He’s a happy wolf the majority of the time, quite amused by others. The only time he really gets upset is when bored. For what it’s worth he might very well help any wolf he meets that’s in trouble, it just has nothing to do with the fact he’d actually care. It’s always good to have friends, they are useful at times. It’s just a matter of priority, Quill’s life is still worth more than those of any ‘friends’ he might make. They are also great tools should he ever need some help. Cause a bit of chaos, stir up the pot a bit? Well, then you are his very best friend.
all over my shoulder,
FATHER:Narl
MOTHER:Braken
SIBLINGS:Brean, Bramble
HISTORY: Quill was born to rather strict parents, who believed the answer on how to live one’s life well is by creating unbendable rules. His two siblings, a female, and another male accepted this, and strived to follow their parents examples. All the rules seemed far too confining for such a free spirited pup as Quill. He took to wandering farther off as a pup than allowed, sometimes getting away with it, sometimes getting caught. It was never fun getting caught, father and mother both had no problems roughing him up a bit. Sometimes he’d even get stuck with one of the parents as a guard to make sure he didn’t leave. His brother was strong, far stronger than Quill and yet he seemed to be lacking a great deal in the brains department. Quill took advantage of this, got his brother to consider him a confidant, someone he could always turn to for help. This meant Quill got to learn all his brother’s secrets, get the fool to lie for him, and on occasion even knowingly take the blame for Quill’s antics. Unfortunatly Quill’s sister was the exact opposite, all too cunning and sly. That low down no good female he had to call a sister got him in trouble more times than he could count.
In the end his choice to join the rebellion had nothing to do with loyalties to either faction. Simply put, his father and mother sided with the king and Quill had no desire to agree with their choice. Poor brother, hopefully the fool wouldn’t try to help father against the rebellion. It would be a shame if the obedient but clueless brother got injured by following father’s orders. Still, now he’d be free of listening to his parents. Also, a rebellion sounded like a lot of fun! Hopefully Quill chose the winning side, or at least the more entertaining one. Dying young is far more preferred than dying of boredom. Then again, best to avoid death all together if possible. Of course he doesn’t tell anyone his real reasons for his choices. Noble fighter for a just cause! That’s Quill! For now…
