Palais
"The forest alive, with leaves, and bone, and hair.
Give the animals their whale."
Give the animals their whale."
Locked in a Tower,
NAME: Palais
NICKNAME(S):
PRONUNCIATION:Pah-lay-ess
POSITION: Slave
He will sleep forever,
AGE: ??? (Aprox. 4)
GENDER: Female
BREED: Maned Wolf
HEIGHT: 33 inches
APPEARANCE: Palais was born different. She has a form of albinism known as Leucism, which causes her skin and fur pigment to lose almost all, if not all of its hue, but leaves her eyes intact. Her pelt is a light blond color as opposed to the typical ruddy copper color of most maned wolves. Along her neck there is a black ridge of fluffy fur and the same color is found on her long legs in the form of black stocking markings. Her muzzle is also black in color. Patches of white are found just under her neck and on the tip of her tail. Her eyes are also different than most wolves, as the hues don't match. Her right eye is a light chocolate color and the left a pale green. Its said that the two tones in her eyes are what allow her such perceptive insight into both the past and future, though it's unlikely any supernatural power actually exists in her. She has a very thin frame, making her appear very fragile. She is sturdier than she appears, though it doesn't take much for her to tire or sustain injury. Although she has an appearance which stands out, and some odd scaring here and there, some might still find her beauty captivating.

PERSONALITY: Palais behaves more like an android than an actual wolf. She is silent, analytical, and observant. She sees speaking as a waste of her time, and holds a philosophy of an observer to the events that occur around her. Her mind is incredibly intelligent, containing a near photographic memory and impressive calculating ability. If asked a question, she will likely answer it as she sees fit, though can be a bit fickle on certain matters. In a past pack she was regarded as a soothsayer, having the ability to see into the future and dictate the best course of action for the group to take, however this "predictive ability" may be nothing more than her amazing capacity to learn and retain knowledge. In spite of her highly critical outlook, she is very accepting and willing to assist almost any creature. Though compassion and understanding evade her at times, she never has any malice or hateful intentions. She feels that her role is to document the passage of time, this thing called "slavery" which she has been bound into, and hopefully prevent something worse from encroaching the timestream. Contained within her vast stores of knowledge are endless tales and myths focusing on the gods, goddesses, and the creation of Ravensbruck as well. In spite of her scientific approach to life at times, she full heartedly believes in the presence of these ethereal beings. Half of her believes that her coat may have been the work of the gods, but her childhood is blurry, and doesn't want to go around claiming that she was "blessed" or anything of the sort.
Return to the river, my white whale,
FATHER: ??? (Adoptive Father: Gyrald)
MOTHER: ??? (Adoptive Mother: Lyfia)
SIBLINGS: ???
HISTORY: Some say she was some runaway pup born of nothing more than just a slave mother and father, or an exile because of her coloration. Others have claimed a conspiracy from her adoptive family, saying her unknown origins were just a way of concealing some out-of-pack affairs, or gaining face with the alphas. The reality of the situation was that no one knew for sure. Lyfia simply found the odd colored pup sleeping in an open forest grove, probably no more than 9 weeks old, no sight nor sign of any other wolves around. Lyfia, being the caring and considerate mother she was, scooped up the small canine and brought her home to be cared for like her own. The mother, being barren, never had the chance for pups, and saw oddly colored Palais as a gift from Turpa, goddess of fertility, whom she had been praying to for just a chance to raise a son or daughter of her own. Her love, Gyrald, was apprehensive at first, but saw no reason why Lyfia shouldn't be allowed this chance of happiness. He asked the alphas, who were skeptical, but understanding, and allowed the pup into the pack.
As a pup Palais was a calm and gentle pup, adopting her mother's disposition, and wisdom beyond her inexperienced years. The pup was very frail, and never had the chance to really enjoy many of the young adventures her peers did. She still had a determined spirit, and continued to grow and learn mentally much faster than her peers. Eventually she grew out of most of her frailty, but still wasn't the most hardy wolf.
When Palais grew to 1 year she knew for sure that she wasn't originally part of this pack. Her mother and father were vastly different than her, and the way everyone looked at her so oddly sealed her ideas that she wasn't so ordinary. Her life got even weirder when she began having strange dreams, often involving other wolves in her pack, and containing some message or forecasting of what was to come in the day. Palais only told her mother and father about it, but the alpha soon found out. He had been watching her mental prowess and skill, and asked her to be his adviser. The pack wasn't all too keen on having an outsider reach such a lofty position, but Palais took it with gratitude. She helped the pack prosper for half a year before the traders came.
When the traders came, everything fell apart. She and a number of others from her pack were taken and sent into slavery. As Palais grew so too did her thirst for knowledge and life experience. Even though the separation from her family was tragic, she still saw the event as another of life's stepping stones. She had faith it would all work out, and her life in slavery allowed her to hone her predictive skills to her advantage. Playing off her guise of being a fortune teller with the blessing of the gods she grew as a valued slave with great potential. Her path was anything but smooth and certain, but she didn't dare go against her fate.
SIDE NOTE:: Ok, so... 150 for Heterochromia, right? o3o;;
