KASIMIRA Dark thunder clouds rolled over the grassy meadow and a soft rain threatened to leash itself onto the land. Two black wolves trotted into the land, a female leading with a male at her heels. The black female laid a scent marker at the border, moving swiftly to beat the rain. She hated a brutal downpour and the way it soaked through her coat with the coldness and sheer discomfort. Kasimira glanced over the land as she made her way through the sparse trees, her eyes searching for her other slave, Calliope. Surely the sklavin had stayed as her dominor had commanded before her leave? With reassurance Kasimira reminded herself that she had certainly made her point when she had inducted Calliope into the pack. She was trustworthy and the Alpha hoped she soon proved herself as a useful asset.
As for this male... The black vixen turned her blue eyes back to her new slave. Zy. He seemed a bit of a trickster and quite possibly a tad flirtatious as long as she was playing along. Still, Kasimira was uncertain about lowering herself to such a degree that she might like him. He was a slave and she was the royal Alpha, queen of her land. She would not flit about with him, caught up in those captivating eyes. Simply put, it was not done and she would not lower her status in such a way. It was decided then. She would remain sole leader of the Irrsin pack until she found someone nearly as competent as herself that she figured would work well in combination with her fiery personality.
As the rain began to fall from the sky above, Kasimira shook her pelt and her swirling thoughts away, bounding further into the terrain. At a large oak she cut left and a few moments later the rumbling of a large waterfall could be heard in the next clearing over. Kasimira halted her sweeping pace for a moment, waiting for Zy to catch up as the rain poured harder over her bodice. She was sure that she looked drenched; the image of a wet, scrawny rat appeared in her mind and she shuddered at the mere thought. Her silky, bold fur had been all nicely kept and groomed, but there was nothing to do for it until they reached the dens. With a shark bark she lunged forward, her carriage high and proud, despite her condition. She was royalty and she would act--and be treated--like nothing less.
"The dens are just ahead; we can take shelter there while this passes. Calliope should be waiting for us."
Kasimira's long strides stretched gracefully over the now saturated ground, her paws slipping into the muddy pools here and there as she led them to her den. It was with a pang that she realized that Calliope would now have another wolf to share the sklavin den with and with the slim idea of escape blocked, the Alpha den would be left to her alone. She had somewhat enjoyed the company of Calliope's delicate breathing and yielding personality the night before; however much she had pushed and bossed her inferior around, a sliver of respect had grown for the tawny wolf and she was eager to see her after the long journey from home and back again.
They had finally reached the caves. With a apprehensive sniff, Kasimira pulled her paws into the cave, making sure that the only inhabitant was Calliope. Surprise was not something she could say she thoroughly enjoyed. Once she knew that there was only one wolf inside whose scent she could recognize as Calliope's, Kasimira padded inside, ducking her head at the entrance. Inside the air was cool and it was cozy den, not too small, but just enough for approximately four wolves to fit quite comfortably. It would be used for meetings of her senior wolves later on in pack life, but for now, it would suffice to protect herself and the two sklavin she had claimed from the growing elements outside.
"Welcome to Irrsin, Zy."
Kasimira flashed Zy a smirk in the darkness and her white teeth glinted in the low light. The she-wolf elegantly laid herself down for a rest, running her salmon pink tongue over the damp fur as was her habit. Her pack was growing.
"Now, if you would be so kind as to introduce yourself to my other friend..." [/size]

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
So he was finally free again. Well, free to him anyway. With a master claiming him a new chapter could finally unfold. The doldrums of life back at the rock were hardly full of the high tension, adrenaline pumping action that the black male longed for. He needed the extra stimulation not only to drive the sleepy messengers of boredom away, but also to keep his small attention span focused on something other than himself. It was the same spotlight vision that often got him in trouble with the guards. If something was even the slightest bit more interesting than their enraged faces, which wasn't very hard to do, then Zy was off in his happy place chasing fireflies and cute girls.
A relative change of scenery was hardly likely to alter such an innate subconscious response, but changing the one talking might. His new master, Kasimira, was more authoritative in the first five seconds of knowing her than any of the guards had been in the time he'd been stuck there. It was a good first impression on her part; a small dent in comparison to the large scale reputation gauge Zy expected individuals to fill before earning his respect, but it was a start. Not to mention she was fairly cute too. Ok, maybe cute was an understatement, but he wasn't the type to start fawning over every attractive fem that passed by, even if she was far better than average. Flirtatious complements usually were just his way of lying a little to get some manipulative hold on the other, but in this case it was more of him having his fun. He could tell by the way the ebony fem pranced along that she had quite the ego, much like himself, but with a more refined quality. There wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that he'd have any legitimate shot at her, but then again, she probably liked the attention.
A princess like her might have some sort of soft spot for a mangy mutt with a cute face. And the mischievous way she sauntered in front of him-- it was done so tauntingly, with an air of superiority. She was a tease, no doubt about it, whether the fem intended to be one or not. Zy laughed inwardly. This could be fun.
A loud rumble that emanated from the shaking sky seemed to call the rains forth in a challenge to the distant roar of what Zy assumed to be a large rushing body of water. Droplets began falling toward the earth at an exceedingly faster rate that sped up both canines' pace. His new master clearly disliked the downpour in contrast to the male's utter delight from the cascade. The rhythmic pound from each tear shaped impact; its resulting sound resonating with every other un-sheltered being and the smell of the storm. It was a welcomed sensory overload. He barked at the onslaught of water as they ran, leaping and making a general fool of himself. The rains re-birthed the land just as much as it did the slaves, or at least this one.
The grown male, now behaving as a pup, stopped stupidly staring up at the rain long enough to glance at his new ruler who very much looked more like a long haired rabbit that someone had shoved in a lake and drug along behind them for a bit, minus the ears of course. That combined with her indignantly 'royal 'till the end' facade was just hilarious. It was all Zy could do to stifle his laughter, attempting to disguise it as him somehow managing to choke on rain. It was one of his better acting attempts, but he should still stick to his job as the village idiot. They'd call him in the morning if he was still alive for a possible role as the silent rock in the school play.
Kasimira seemed to ignore the degenerate behind her and sped up after an abrupt bark to signal they were near their destination. Zy nodded in acknowledgement before trundling on behind her, his mind wandering to vague constructs of harems and sunbathing before being jarred back to reality by a large gaping mouth in the earth. His master vanished inside the maw before them, insinuating that he should follow suit. Apprehensive at first, not willingly have set foot in a cave since the foggy memories of his birth, he slunk after her. The small male wasn't all to fond of small spaces like these, but he figured during the winter months or more threatening weather changes he'd be thankful for the shelter.
"Welcome to Irrsin, Zy."
His master's 'I am holier than thou' yet slightly mischievous tone filled the cavern as she flashed him a wry smirk. It was the same introduction from every master. Always welcoming but at the same time having an air of omniscience that spoke volumes. It was a shared home with a line drawn in chalk sectioning off one corner for them and the rest for her. However, the line could be erased, stepped over, and redrawn if the master wasn't careful. It was a delicate balance of servitude and respect that many didn't understand, or were too dim witted to ever hope to grasp such a concept. Zy already knew that the fem had enough flexibility from their first meeting, and hardly seemed unintelligent. She probably wouldn't make the same mistakes others in the past had, but then again, it was only week one.
His mind was drawn back to the name Kasimira mentioned earlier as she motioned toward another wolf in the cavern. The sarcastic tone added to the word friend hinted that it was another slave like himself, had the lack of direct attention not been so obvious. She looked battered and warn, like most slaves would. Not the most attractive fem out there, but that was probably because she still had the look of a starved and cornered rat about her. Zy gave her a quizzical smirk before walking over close enough that their noses nearly touched. He wasn't one for personal bubbles nor standard canine etiquette. Not the most suave flirt ever, but at least he was cute, right?
"Sup cutie. I'm Zy."
He playfully wagged his rain drenched tail and irritatedly shook his head as a piece of his cowlick-like fur decided to brush the top of his eye in its wet state. He glanced around a few times after glaring at it to observe his surroundings. He noted that this trio of three were the only wolves here so he assumed this pack consisted of them. Another of his truly astounding discoveries was that he was the only male around. Smirking, rather proud of his mathematical and anatomical prowess, he addressed no one in particular with a rather unfitting statement.
"Hey, queenie, you should pick up a few more girls next time you're out. Even with you being sexy enough to count as two there's more than this in a harem, no offense. "

Ooc-I hope you guys don't mind if I jump in. :)Calliope It seemed this would be Revensbrück's wettest summer yet. Calliope turned away from the entrance to the den, where she had been watching the rain come down in sheets. At least she had a den to stay dry in, for now. Maybe she was just a pessimist, but something in Kasimira's body language made her feel like this was only temporary. The dominor wasn't actually there at the moment, though. The ebony wolf left almost immediately after getting Calliope situated. Cal wasn't sure how to interpret that. Did it mean she was such a bad slave that another was needed so soon?
Calliope swallowed in an attempt to moisten her dry throat. She couldn't imagine why she cared so much about what Kasimira thought of her. Of course she needed to please her mistress, that was essential to staying safe and fed, but many slaves were indifferent to their dominors, or even hated them. What was she trying to get from Kasimira?
Approval. The answer shocked her, but she knew it was true. She wanted someone to tell her she had done something right, even if what she was doing was being a whimpering little sklavin. Sometimes she disgusted herself. Not that she was going to change anything, of course. Calliope took a break from her thoughts to get a drink of water from the puddles forming outside the den. The rainwater was murky and tasted of dirt from the runoff. If she wanted clear water she would have to wait for the rain to stop and the silt in the puddle to settle. As she lifted her head, she caught sight of movement out in the meadow. The rain made everything blurry and grayed, but she could definitely see shapes coming toward her. Shapes. Plural.
Cal ducked back into the den, settling herself in the back. She didn't want it to seem like she was watching for their return. Another slave; what would this mean for her? She imagined an agile hunter or a giant warrior, someone Kasimira would find useful. She heard pawsteps outside the entrance and the snuffling of a nose, and suddenly they were in the den. Calliope tried to make her face impassive, as if she really didn't care that there was a new slave, but she couldn't brace herself for what she saw.
"Welcome to Irrsin, Zy."
Her heart skipped a beat from shock. Seris stood calmly before her, a younger, sweeter-looking version of himself. He looked cool and confident, just like he always did. He strode forward until he was close enough to touch, their muzzles so close she could feel his warm breath as he spoke.
"Sup cutie. I'm Zy."
It's not Seris. It's not him! The rational part of her brain verbally slapped her. Calliope choked out a reply. "Calliope." She breathed a sigh of relief as he lost interest in her and moved away. It was too much, too soon. She wouldn't be able to handle being around this Zy, especially if he continued to entrench on her personal space, bringing up feelings she thought were long dead.
"Hey, queenie, you should pick up a few more girls next time you're out. Even with you being sexy enough to count as two there's more than this in a harem, no offense. "
Cal winced. Kasimira would tear him apart. She wouldn't stand for this insolence, unless . . . It didn't add up, her bringing Zy back as a slave. Calliope thought back to when her mistress entered the den. She realized that Kasimira had seemed almost flirtatious with this brute. A horrifying thought entered her mind: what if this male was meant to be the new Alpha? Calliope already had mixed feelings about him, equal parts aversion and attraction. She viewed the idea of him as Alpha with distaste. She wanted to see Kasimira crush him like a bug, but she also wanted him to herself.
Sometimes she really disgusted herself.

KASIMIRA "Sup cutie. I'm Zy."
It was with a flirtatious grin and a flick of his black fur that hung near his eyes that Zy approached Calliope, Kasimira watching as their noses came to rest together for a split second. Was that envy that ripped through her? No, it couldn't be. She was the ruler here, not the slave. She was not one to fall under someone's ensnaring tricks and provocative coos. The she-wolf shook her black pelt, letting the beginnings of those romantically entwined feelings slip away.
"Hey, queenie, you should pick up a few more girls next time you're out. Even with you being sexy enough to count as two there's more than this in a harem, no offense."
"Excuse me?"
It was with a deafening snarl that Kasimira lifted herself off the den's warming floor and threw herself at the male, blue eyes flashing with unrestrained hostility. Granted, she might have let this handsome scoundrel off at first for his sly remarks and complementing glances her direction, but this deliberate disobedience would not be tolerated. It was with bared, glistening jaws that she leaned over him, a warning snarl thundering deep from within her bodice. This brawn and power had not been shown to Caliiope before and the black she-wolf didn't allow herself a moment's glance at the other wolf in the den. It was time to set this mistaken male straight. And in the firmest and most direct way possible.
"Maybe I wasn't clear enough earlier. In that case, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt."
Kasimira arched her frame further into the brute's personal space, the snarl she had made turning into a vicious bark of fury. Obviously no push over she-wolf.
"Pull a stunt like that again and I'll make you wish you were back at that filthy Auktion Rock. Don't test me, Zy."
The she-wolf gracefully lowered her voice as she spoke, this time her eyes narrowed and threateningly dangerous as they flickered in front of the male's own.
"Don't forget. I own you."
Seconds passed as the two stared into each other's eyes, Kasimira simply waiting for him to break. Submit, you weakling. The blood roared and pulsated in the vixen's head and she gathered herself with much restraint, azure glaring viciously as she stepped off of the male. No doubt that the she-wolf was impressed with his cunning words and slick attitude, but respect was where it would make or break him. Kasimira finally jerked her ice glazed eyes away from him, turning to survey Calliope. At the moment the female slave was her favorite; she knew to respect her superior's boundaries and she was loyal. Kasimira said nothing to her sklavin at first, thoughts raging through her.
"Tomorrow I will be making a trip to our neighbor's lands to give him a welcoming gift."
It was with a sneer that she spoke the words; Kasimira obviously meant nothing she had said.
"Calliope, I would like you to watch the lands while I am gone. Zy, you will listen to her and her commands will be your actions."
The queen shot a look at the male that dared him to say otherwise after his encounter with her harsher personality. As soon as he learned that his Alpha only demanded a few key things of her subjects, he would find himself in a much better word.
ooc- not the best, but good enough for now. I started a post with Nitemare's character, Phantom. So while Kasimira is there, Zy and Calliope could have their own thread of what happens while the queen is out? :) [/size]

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
He’d done it now. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and he had unleashed the beast that was lurking just below the surface upon himself once more. He saw it coming just after he finished his improper suggestion. He should have just kept his big mouth shut but nooo he had to just say something. It was the same scenario he’d faced the day he got permanent reminders carved into his muzzle. They were etched ever so lovingly by another female wolf he’d spoken to during his time as a roamer in a similar manner. You’d think Zy’d know by now not to irritate others to the point of breaking but he didn’t have enough judgment. The words just spouted out of his mouth as if his brain’s self preservation filter just wasn’t working up to par. Not even physical marks could deter him from this behavior, although they seemed to be effective in teaching the young male approximate boundaries and respect.
As Kasimira bared her fangs in a carnal snarl so sudden and so fierce he knew he’d crossed a line that shouldn’t have ever been tread upon. However, his life was filled with those moments. He thrived walking on the edge; flirting with danger; inches from his own destruction. For such a small male he had quite a knack for getting in over his head. The struggle to keep himself above the rising levels of turmoil he created was how the male lived. From one encounter to the next, the rush of adrenaline formed from being backed into a corner is what fueled his sensation of being alive. It was his own self-destructive version of fun that only others like him could ever hope to understand at first.
Of course this “fun” had its drawbacks. A brilliant example of that was probably seconds from disemboweling him as she pinned him to the cave floor. A flash of fear cascaded through amber orbs as the fem voiced her threat to take him back to the auctions. He couldn’t go back there. They’d kill him; or he’d do it himself. The walk back alone would be laden with so much apprehension the urge to bolt would be unable to control. And then what would he do. He didn’t want to think about it.
“Don't test me, Zy. Don't forget. I own you."
Owned him. The bitter-sweet realization that once again he had a master finally sunk in and that phrase alone jarred him to the core. He was tethered to this place just as much as Calliope or the snarling beast before him, connected by an invisible social force so strong most wouldn’t dare to challenge. Zy wasn’t an exception. In fact, those words were almost alluring even when said with such malice and hostility. The commanding tone with which they were vocalized combined with that icy stare cut straight through him. He found some masochistic pleasure in the fem’s domineering reprimand that created a muddled form of attraction to her in those few seconds. It was a twisted menagerie of raw emotion and instinct fusing together in a confusing cacophony that left as soon as it came. For once in his life, Zy couldn’t think of anything to say at all.
As Kasimira removed her bodice from its aggressive stance a wave of both relief and disappointment washed over the black male. His mind was screaming ‘Bite me, I dare you.”, while his better judgment was praising the gods for a lucky break. The disorder of his mind was rather obvious even with his best attempts to disguise it. He barely comprehended what his master stated, but managed to string together enough words to form a coherent sentence or two.
“Your wish is my command, your highness.”
He said it with a smirk and a bow in a tone that couldn’t be distinguished from seriousness or sarcasm. The line he was walking was thin and close to the edge, so he couldn’t afford to be too disrespectful, but still found it impossible to take anyone seriously.
The Queen left her castle to go pay a royal visit to the neighboring kingdom, leaving the court jester to be watched by her enslaved princess. … What was her name again? Calliope. Right. Zy found the look she gave him when he walked in rather interesting. It was a combination of shock, disgust, and adoration that utterly perplexed the young male. The same expression was still on the brown slave’s face, making him wonder why she continued to look at him in such a manner. “Lucky for me the jailers around here are all cute girls.” The flirtatious side of him didn’t take long to recover from his previous mental lapse as he gave another wry smirk to the other slave. It was all in good fun, and usually got him on the fems’ good sides. The previous reaction he got from her hinted that perhaps she thought he was attractive or something. Even better.
“What’s with the look? Like what you see?”
Zy laughed and strutted around Calliope in a show-offy fashion. The little attention whore was at it again.
OOC;; So I guessed Kasimira left xD;; I thought. 8I;; If not I guess I can edit it lol. It… just kinda made more sense to the flow of my post to act as if she did. Lol. Sorry it took so long too. No internet and no time to type. |C

Calliope If Kasimira had been intimidating before, she was truly frightening now. Calliope could only watch in shocked silence as the dark fae pounced, becoming a snarling whirl of fur and claws and teeth. Her tone was colder, more threatening and Calliope thanked Iudex it wasn't directed at her. She saw the fear present in Zy. Calm, confident Zy, reduced to a fearful slave. Welcome to my world.
For a moment Calliope forgot Kasimira and locked her eyes on Zy, her thoughts turning to events in her past. A chilling gaze made her look up, straight into the jewel-blue eyes of her mistress. Quickly, Calliope averted her gaze to the floor. The expression on Kasimira's maw hadn't hinted of anger, but her gaze was intense regardless.
"Calliope, I would like you to watch the lands while I am gone. Zy, you will listen to her and her commands will be your actions."
Cal drew in a sharp breath. That was a task usually given to a beta. Though she knew that with no actual pack members, Kasimira had no choice but to leave a slave in charge, she felt a small surge of pride. Immediately after it came a wave of terror. She would be left alone with Zy, given the chore of keeping him under control. If he ran, would she be able to stop him? Calliope knew if she couldn't, she would have to pay the price.
Kasimira sauntered off, seeming inexplicably confident to Calliope. Cal watched her go until she disappeared over the horizon, hoping to delay what would come next. She took the chance of glancing at Zy to make sure he was behaving. It was a mistake.
“Lucky for me the jailers around here are all cute girls.”
A lie. She knew what she looked like. At the moment she had a thin, rattish figure, but even well-fed she had never been much of a looker. She remained silent, hoping he would become bored and leave her alone. No such luck.
“What’s with the look? Like what you see?”
Startled, Calliope's eyes went wide. Was she so transparent? Gathering her courage, she tried to mimic the scalding look perpetually on Kasimira's face.
"N-no." Her voice betrayed her. She envied Zy's confidence. But she was in charge; he had to follow any order she gave. The thought of this inspired her to go on. "I . . . command you to--to leave me alone." Ooc-Ick. I hope you can find something to work with. x.x

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
The look on Calliope's face was priceless. She was clearly stunned by how easily Zy read her previous reactions, but in reality the male was just making wild accusations until he triggered another response. It was almost too easy. The scrawny she-wolf's attempt to disguise her surprise was even better than her original face.
"N-no."
It was a facade of forced intimidation which only made Zy snicker. What was she trying to do, make him cower and submit to her? Not likely. Calliope was hardly a threat, and certainly not anywhere near to being above him on the totem pole. They were both slaves, she had just been given an order to temporarily be above him.
"I . . . command you to--to leave me alone."
Clearly she had never given anyone even the simplest command, or even suggested one. The whole thing was rather humorous to Zy. He had just met her and already the male could tell how fragile and timid this wolf was. The false airs of superiority Calliope attempted to wear were much like a young child's frail attempts at controlling something in their lives. It was almost adorable in a somewhat sad and demeaning sort of way. She tried to give the same piercing glare that Kasimira had when barking orders, but it came off about as sharp as a plastic spoon, and was as intimidating as one too.
"You don't sound all too sure 'bout that, buuuut ok. See ya~"
He smirked and trotted out of the cave into the damp outside world. Pumping his elongated legs his strides grew in length with each impact of his paws to the muddy earth. Here was his chance for absolute freedom, but something was holding him back. He was afraid of what lurked beyond these tamed confines. Masters far worse than Kasimira existed, and it was by pure chance he bumped into one that had yet to over react to anything he did, at least to his standards. Running now would ruin it all. He found himself slowing and eventually stopping in the long grass a few feet from the cave entrance where he began. Why could couldn't leave this way. Taking the cowards way out and leaving Calliope to take the punishment was something he ordinarily would have done without a second thought. What had changed. Deciding he'd figure it out later, Zy peeked his head into the maw of the cave and barked.
"Hey! Miss me? Come on Calli, queenie never said anything 'bout not leaving the cave right?"
His amber orbs flickered with a playful fire that not even the darkness of the cave could douse. He wasn't even sure if the she-wolf was in the cave. He had not been running for all that long when he turned around and came back, but it was plenty of time for the other to have run off after him somewhere. Zy stood near the entrance wagging his tail and eagerly awaiting a response from somewhere.
ooc;; herpderp. IDK. Shorterish post. 8I;;

Calliope "Oh, ticks," Calliope swore under her breath. She had meant for Zy to stop talking to her, maybe move to the other side of the den, but he had taken the order to heart. Never mind that he seemed about as scared of her as Kasimira was. She berated herself for not stopping him, though he had slipped out of the entrance by the time she caught on. Using what power remained in her toothpick legs, she sprinted out. If he wouldn't stay, then she would go with him, pleading with him until he turned back.
"You can't go! Lady Kasimira will punish us if she finds you trying to leave!" she shouted, sounded exactly like the goody-two-shoes pup she used to be, who had to be dragged along during adventures. "And if your not here when she gets back, Iudex himself wouldn't save--"
To her surprise, she found Zy waiting for her out in the meadow. He certainly didn't look like he was about to bolt. In fact, he had a playful grin on his muzzle, like he was inviting her to come join in a game. No one ever looked at her like that. She was the downer, the stick-in-the-mud, who stayed on the sidelines and watched because she was too timid to join in.
"Come on Calli, queenie never said anything 'bout not leaving the cave right?"
A nickname. You only gave nicknames to people you liked, right? Calliope knew she should seize this chance, but old habits die hard.
"No, but if we aren't here when she gets back . . ." Zy had witnessed Kasimira's wrath, surely he wouldn't go looking for more? Calliope was weakening, though, something wild and free was chipping away at the shell of terror she cowered in. "Where would we go?" she murmured quietly, "If I did come with you?"
She knew where they could go. They could run and never look back. Calliope remembered a time that seemed eons ago, when another confident young male had offered that to her. He spoke of empires and power, but those weren't what set her heart racing. It was the chance to be above it all with him, where the radiant light of his affection would keep the shadows of doubt and worry away forever.
Calliope released her fantasy, letting the breeze take it far away. The slave running off with the dominor's boy toy, wouldn't that be a story? She suddenly felt tired, the weight of exhaustion bearing down on her under the gray sky. She felt like the trees in the meadow, their leaves drooping under the rain drops collected on them. Though the rain had stopped, the air was heavy with moisture. Calliope gave a despairing little sigh. She looked up at Zy with sad, puzzled eyes.
"Why didn't you run?"

[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
He could see the relief and shock contained within Calliope as the fae's orbs made contact with his own. Did she really expect him to have run off that quickly? Zy couldn't blame her though. With no real grasp on each other's personality who's to say he wouldn't have in her mind. He was only just beginning to work his head around her possible traits, but with each word the pieces were falling into place. She had rebutted his idea at first, as was expected, but then a faint glisten of some adventurous soul peeked its way out. It was a muttered phrase laced with apprehension. It made Zy wonder, was there a time when this downtrodden sklavin had seen something more?
"Where would we go...If I did come with you?"
Those two questions were ones the male had become accustom to hearing, but never giving an answer to. Slaves often clung to any glimmer of hope seen within those unforgiving canyon walls. Zy's frequent escape antics were taken by some as just that. He couldn't understand it. The expectant gazes and overly sincere pleas voiced shouldn't be directed at him. Pick some other wolf. Find one that's not so afraid of life beyond bars of stone. And yet he loved the attention. The poor creatures who actually believed in him he used to fuel his own selfish desires. He hated himself, but loved every second of it. Perhaps he would eventually answer those questions. But not today, for today there was no answer.
Acting as though he had not heard Calliope, Zy began meandering slowly from the dens in no particular direction. Hiding his constant battle between the id and superego was yet another commonly practiced behavior, though it was becoming harder to than it had once been. The few steps taken through the moist grass helped restore his composure to how it had been near the beginning of the day, before all this stressful thinking happened.
As he turned around the male's amber eyes were confronted by a rather pitiful expression from Calliope. Don't look at me like that.
"Why didn't you run?"
The question must seem so simple to her. A single answer, or maybe a few, it couldn't be that hard. To Zy however, it was an impossible mountain. What would she think if he said he didn't want to-- that he was too afraid of what would happen if he did. His invisible armor of ice would have a vulnerable hole burned into it by another whom he barely knew and certainly didn't trust. Then when she left him, like everyone else, who'd be there guard that empty space? He'd be alone again with himself, and his demons would be there with him, flocking around that marred place, allowing darkness to seep in and gnaw away at his fragile existence until even death seemed better than going on. He wasn't letting that happen again.
"I figured you liked me too much. Probably start bawling like a pussy if I did."
His muzzle said flirt but his eyes said liar, and Zy knew it. He jogged a few feet forward before stopping again, edging farther and farther from the location Kasimira left them at.
"Why don't you?"

MATRID
*
Quiet. It was quiet here.
Matrid had followed her new dominor's instructions to a t. She had found the dirt path with no problem, followed it through the forest. That part had spooked her a bit, and she had ran, so she figured she'd made good timing. She had traveled northeast, altered her path to run more north when it had seemed called for, and now here she found herself. She stood captivated for a moment, looking around at everything. The land was absolutely beautiful. The waterfall was simply breathtaking, and the vibrant green grass was soft, tickling the pads of her feet. Even from her spot at the entrance to this land, she could see prey darting around. She didn't dare chase them, however. Her previous dominor had told her when she could and could not eat, and she naturally figured that Kasimira would be the same. Of course, she knew that not every dominor behaved in the same fashion, but it was safer to assume in this case.
Many times during her travel, Matrid had asked herself why she didn't run. It would be nightfall before Kasimira found out. But then she had mentally rebuffed herself, telling herself that she was being silly. Now as she stood here, she wondered why. Why was the idea so ludicrous to her?
Well, for one, she knew that Kasimira would make good on her threat to hunt Matrid down. And when Kasimira found her, which Matrid knew she would, it would be hell for the sklavin. She shivered upon imagining how furious the dominor would be, shaking her cranium to chase the images away. But she knew that it was only half the reason, Kasimira's threat. The other was that this was where she was supposed to be. She was supposed to be making her way into her new home, tail low and body slightly tense. She was supposed to be a sklavin. It was, as she had thought before, what she was born to do. Her father had shaped her for this. Hopefully, this would be her last home.
She crept forward, her legs finally moving as her eyes roamed. Kasimira's scent was heavy here, assuring Matrid that she had not wandered into another dominor's land. Occasionally she would halt, ears perking forward to try to detect a sound, only to continue her slinking gait forward when she heard just prey. The final time that she stopped, her ears springing forward, she heard it. Voices. A moment later, two scents hit her. One male, one female. She assumed it was the Calliope and Zy that Kasimira had told her would be waiting here.
She moved forward slowly now, her gait not as slinky as before yet showing absolutely no signs of aggression or confidence. She didn't have a feel for these wolves yet, didn't know their personalities. When they came into sight, she froze.
One was larger but still a tad bit smaller than herself - not that it mattered, she wouldn't dare test him -, dark-furred, clearly male. The other was a bit smaller, a female it seemed, with gray-brown fur, thin looking. Beneath her own thick fur, Matrid knew she was a tad on the thin side as well. Shaking her thoughts aside, she offered up a small snort to alert them to her presence, her body stiff, her eyes flickering with unnamed emotions.

Calliope "I figured you liked me too much. Probably start bawling like a pussy if I did."
Calliope smiled a bit. Did she like him? Possibly, but there was still a deep revulsion harboring in the pit of her stomach. Her mind still associated his type with some scarring events a negative emotions. It was too much like the past repeating; something she would do anything to stop. She felt herself getting too bold with this male, and she was going to nip it in the bud before it caused trouble. She noticed him wander a bit father away and her eyes narrowed. Appealing or not, he still wasn't worth a beating from Kasimira.
"Why don't you?"
She had to admit she was caught off guard, though it was only natural he would ask. Trying to keep her lyrics nonchalant, she answered,"I have nowhere else to go." It was a true sentence, but so loaded down with unsaid weight that it seemed to fall through the air. Cal grimaced as she heard it; lying was never easy for her. She began to clean one of her hind legs, concentrating on licking the fur back into place and ignoring Zy.
A snort from the bushes made her jump. She was seized with terror at the thought that Kasimira had returned early and was listening in on their conversation. She could swear her heart stopped as she realized she had neglected to watch her charge. He could be halfway to the border by now. Whipping her head around, she tried to form an apology for leaving the den, expecting her mistress' cold gaze on her. Instead, she saw a large, dark female who smelled of subordination. Calliope felt an inexplicable burning rage toward this femme that she quickly tried to quiet. The bitter taste of jealousy lingered in her mouth as the feeling slipped away. If he was still here, Calliope knew Zy would be delighted at this pretty new addition.
Confusion blocked all her other emotions. This female was a slave, but where was her dominor? The smell of Kasimira lingered on this stranger's fur, laying claim to her, but it was old. And she was alone, not even a freior to accompany her. Calliope knew that her own weakness kept her obedient to her mistress, but this fae was big and surely strong enough to fight her way to freedom. But that was none of Calliope's business.
"Did Lady Kasimira send you?" The words were barely out of her mouth when Calliope realized her rudeness. "I'm, ah, Calliope. Um. Welcome to Irrsin, I guess."

Post by Kyren on Jul 9, 2011 21:50:32 GMT -5
The time travelling alone was like a balm on Kyren's soul. There were so many things wrong, but their was potential for the future. He had shown himself well to this female dominor and seemed to have gained her trust. It was a big step, but there was far to go. Even should she grant him his freedom, where did that leave him? This was not the pack he had been born in, he was no alpha's cub here. No, he'd be nothing more than a lowly omega.
Being small for a wolf had its advantages, it made it all the easier to travel unseen especially through the forest. He kept his pace to a ground eating trot. He did tend to turn his head often to the left and then back straight ahead, compensating for his limited sight.
Eventually he was confident he was in Kasimira's territory at which point he slowed his trot to pay more attention to the scents. Knowing he was close he paused to sit down and clean himself off a bit. His tongue carefully ran over his rougher patches of coat, and then worked on clearing some of the dirt out of his paw pads. Finally giving himself a look over, from bushy tail, and up he decided he was clean enough to show relativey well. All the harder to gain respect if you don't look the part of one deserving it.
It was a while longer till he caught the scent of other wolves. What were they like? He'd find out soon enough. Voices. Kyren froze, his ears pricked forward listening carefully.
"Did Lady Kasimira send you?" "I'm, ah, Calliope. Um. Welcome to Irrsin, I guess."
The words wern't for him, she wasn't facing his direction. Also, she didn't sound overy confident, good, at least for now. All he could see from here were two wolves, since he had expected three wolves he imagined this female was speaking to the third. Had it just arrived also? Or was she speaking to another? Well he'd find out soon enough.
Kyren walked closer, letting his steps be heard more easily, he passed aroun a small tree, "Does that welcome include me as well?" His voice was even, his good eye openly assessing the two before him, one of his black tipped ears twitching in the direction Calliope had been speaking. Time to get to know these other wolves.

OOC;; Edited. |D;; I think... It works. lol.[atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=000000]
Zy's ploy to get Calliope in with him on his little roaming adventure wasn't going quite as planned. After saying another depressing sentence the fae simply sat down and began grooming herself. This debby downer was seriously harshing his mellow. First she lost the wistful hint of curiosity about wandering around, and now she was ignoring him. This simply wouldn't do. Grooming was important, Zy more than most would know, spending hours staring at his mirror image on any reflective surface, but not worth more attention than himself. I mean really girl, your pelt's so beyond help right now anyway. The thought would have been voiced had it not sounded so flamboyant and catty. Sometimes how un-manly the male was even made himself laugh.
Just as another of his charcoal paws hit the ground, Zy picked up the sound of movement to his side. The rustling brush seemed to be from a decent sized animal, but the smell confirmed it was canine. At first he wondered if it was Kasimira returning from her little visit to the neighboring land. A twinge of excitement and fear simultaneously registered as the male pivoted around to face the origin of the commotion. Almost immediately he knew it couldn't be the twosome's master. The scent that wafted into his nostrils was female, but certainly nothing like the overpowering aroma of an alpha dog.
He was somewhat disappointed when the she-wolf came into view, still half-heartedly hoping stunning ice blue eyes would pierce his own as opposed to the ones before him now. This was the dark gaze of a fellow slave. Almost instantly Zy assumed Kasimira must have sent her from the rock, as the queen probably would never allow a slave to tread in front of her royal paws. This brought up the question, where was their master? It was none of his concern really. He decided to look at the big picture here. After Calliope's introduction and welcome, which Zy didn't get, might he add, the male added his own comments.
"I think she listened to me after all Calli, brought me another girl. Welcome to the Queen's harem. I'm Zy, the only guy you'll ever need.""
The typical flirty smirk was present on his maw while he promenaded his way over to Calliope's side, who somehow seemed more tense than when he last looked at her a few minutes ago, taking this short amount of time to look over their new guest. Like almost every sklavin her posture was horrible, but she wasn't all that off-putting. The fae seemed like an average slave, larger than him, and actually looked like she could pull her weight, unlike himself. When he reached his stuffy companion's side he nudged her a bit with his shoulder.
"Does that welcome include me as well?"
Happy bubble, popped. Zy's harem was now broken with the addition of another male into the pack. He clearly had not been a slave long, as most males at the rock he'd seen before, and the newcomer didn't have the distinct aura of subordination about him. He wasn't all that intimidating or large, which was a welcome relief to Zy who couldn't hope to survive irritating a behemoth of a wolf. The edition of him to the pack wasn't the end of the world, but it just ruined his little harem moment of bliss. Oh well, good while it lasted.
The statement by the male had made Zy assume it was directed at Calliope and not what he had just said, but the mischievous male couldn't pass up a chance to make things awkward. "That Kasimira, how'd she know I wanted a boy toy too. Of course you can join my harem. Name's Zy, if you didn't catch that earlier."
Zy himself couldn't tell if he was really flirting, or just being a total creep. Either worked for him. He wanted to see how the new guy reacted.

MATRID
*
The first thing that Matrid registered when the two wolves present turned towards her was the way the female looked at her. Emotions flickered across her startled eyes, and Matrid wasn't entirely sure they were positive. This confused her at first. Had perhaps she done something? But no, she shook this thought away. Matrid knew that she certainly didn't have to do anything for another slave to be weary of her. She could understand this, as she often felt cautious of others. But was this caution, or was there something else in the way the female looked at her. Rage?
Whatever it was, confusion was left in it's wake. Matrid realized that perhaps she should have introduced herself first to avoid all of said confusion, but it was too late now, and the female was speaking to her. "Did Lady Kasimira send you?" Then a pause, before adding, "I'm, ah, Calliope. Um. Welcome to Irrsin, I guess." The introduction and welcome left Matrid feeling very confused herself. Normally she tried not to interact with others. It left her feeling very baffled and very awkward, like now. But she couldn't just stand here gawking at them, lest they think she was either deaf, dumb, or both. She began to gather her wits to speak when the other wolf, the darker male, did so himself.
"I think she listened to me after all Calli, brought me another girl. Welcome to the Queen's harem. I'm Zy, the only guy you'll ever need."
Was that a flirty smile she saw on his muzzle? Yes, now she remembered that Queen Kasimira had warned her that he was a flirt, this Zy character. By the way he sashayed over to Calliope and then turned to observe her, Matrid believed it. Not that she had ever been flirted with before. Only partially covering her pleased expression, she suddenly found her body straightening, drawing herself up slightly. It was not an aggressive manor, but simply her relaxing her slink-like posture around her fellow slaves, adopting a more natural stance. Now that both of them had introduced themselves, she figured she could do the same, and answer Calliope's previous question.
"Yes, Queen Kasimira gave me directions and informed me that you'd be waiting." Her voice was neutral with an amused undertone, and she offered up a tiny little smile with it. Cautious and tense, but still a smile. "And very interesting introduction, Zy. I'm Matrid."
She would have said more, perhaps added a nervous nice to meet you to them both, although she wasn't sure if it was yet, but another masculine voice cut in and she swiftly turned her head. "Does that welcome include me as well?" This came from a smaller red colored wolf, one who didn't exactly scream submissive. She guessed that he had not been a slave for very long at all, and her ears flicked forward curiously as Zy spoke, seeming to be...flirting with the new male as well? Perhaps he was kidding, perhaps not. Either way, her eyes flickered from wolf to wolf, lingering on each of them as she committed their names and apperances to her memory.

Calliope "I think she listened to me after all Calli, brought me another girl."
A polite smile appeared on Calliope's muzzle as she humored Zy, though she suspected he wanted a reaction from the new slave rather than her. However, when he gave her a conspiratorial nudge, she stiffened. He suggested an intimacy they didn't have; one she wasn't sure she wanted. Calliope felt herself develop a new warmth toward the other female, who introduced herself as Matrid. She would no longer be the center of attention, which was a position she was very uncomfortable with.
"Does that welcome include me as well?"
Calliope made a small yelping noise as she scrambled to face their new guest. It wasn't one of her prouder moments, but she had long shed any pretense of pride or dignity. The culprit responsible turned out to a rather small male, his coppery coat standing out against the green of the meadow. Cal wondered they hadn't spotted him before; fur like could be seen as far as the border.
"That Kasimira, how'd she know I wanted a boy toy too."
Shooting a scandalized look at Zy, Calliope tried to collect her thoughts. She was know in charge of three wolves, including two arrogant males. While Matrid seemed calm and a bit shy, the male had a decidedly proud manner about him. She could only hope that Irrsin was big enough for both his ego and Zy's. Speaking of Zy, Calliope doubted his comment would do anything to ease relations.
A soft rumble of thunder rolled in the distance, where the retreating storm clouds were pouring their wrath of some other unfortunate wolves. Calliope took several deep breaths in, enjoying the sweet smell of clean from the rain-washed meadow. The thought of rain reminded her of the dens behind her.
"If you want to rest your paws on some dry ground, the middle den is currently where we sleep." It would be a relief if both Matrid and the brute went to the caves. Calliope could see the conversation becoming stilted and awkward. Then again, if they left her alone with Zy they would be back to the uncomfortable topic of escape. At the moment she couldn't decide which would be the lesser of the two evils.
A sudden thought struck her and she had to speak. "Did our lady mention when she would return to either of you?" Calliope couldn't understand why anyone would choose the burden of responsibility. She was eager to get rid of it.
