Maddox The frigid air nipped at his legs like teeth, particularly bad where his fur was shorter and more vulnerable. All around him tiny flakes of white fell, sticking upon the ground. Winter was finally upon Ravensbruck, and if Maddox’s senses were right, it was going to be a harsh one. He’d risen particularly early that morning, peeling himself away from the makeshift den he’d found the night before, and away from Adali. He’d intended to find food before she woke, so that she could fill her belly with fresh warm meat before having to brave the cold. Veering away from Hangen Mesa, he slipped into the forest like a good, snowflakes clinging to his pelt, dotting the mottled colors with ivory. His golden eyes searched as he drifted silently across the growing piles of snow, ears pricked forward, straining to detect any hint of sound. There was a splotch of blood in the snow that alerted him to the bobcat, struggling somewhere in the forest. It was all too easy to follow the crimson splotches that stained the perfect white. It was a small one when he found it, bleeding badly from the hindleg, but it would be more than enough for he and Adali. He watched it for a long moment, silent, still, before he sprang. It yowled as he took it by surprise, digging his claws into the prior wound until the beast folded and fell. Still it screamed as Maddox took it by the throat, quieting only when he’d killed it. Triumphant, he stepped away from the kill, gazing on it with pride filled eyes. It was something to take back to Adali, at least. The thought of her warmed him as he lifted it from the ground, turning to return to the den. It bounced against his chest almost morbidly as he went. He’d spent the night curled up beside her the night before, happier than he’d ever been. It worried him when he thought about the repercussions of taking her from Irrsin, but he’d escort her back when she went if he had to. He wouldn’t let anything happen to her as long as he was around – not even at the paws of her insufferable queen. Snorting indignantly, Maddox paused as he came upon Hangen Mesa, creeping under where the rock jutted out oddly from the earth. A tree had long ago fallen against the rock, the limbs making an impressive fortress. It was a makeshift den at best, and yet it was warm and secure. He pranced to the entrance, dropping his kill on the rocks with a dull thud. ”Adali?” he called softly, peering into the darkness. The sun was directly above and in front of him, blinding him as he waited for a response. He was stricken by the sudden thought that she’d gone, fled back to Irrsin or been taken by slavers…his breath hitched as he lunged forward into the den, golden eyes probing every corner for the faintest flash of white. Adali
It had been the muffled movements of her companion that brought the she-wolf from her slumber that early morning. She hadn't risen to greet his shifting form, hadn't even cast more than a weary flick of the eye his way when he'd slunk out of that makeshift den. This wasn't a strange thing nor was it one of contempt or the divide of their couple. Simply, it was such a common occurrence on the nights they spent together that it seemed unnecessary to pipe up, ask where he was going, because she already knew. He'd probably realized she was awake, watching, longing for his return the moment he had left yet aware of his quest and afraid to speak. And she trusted him to come back; so honest he'd been that Maddox had never given her any reason to doubt him. Perhaps it was why that even out here, in the middle of some place she knew nothing about, she gladly resigned to her brief relaxation. Adali had never felt so at ease in her life. Sleep had never come so readily before, and she couldn't recall ever before slumbering near straight through an entire night so often, Maddox curled against her. They hadn't been out there long and yet already something about her seemed to change. She seemed happier, livelier, less haunted even as she retained habit. Perhaps it was Maddox's presence or perhaps it was this freedom that she had never longed for. But Adali never allowed thoughts on the latter to dwell too long, afraid of what they would elicit. For once she was content to just be, and she didn't need to think of the why. It was some time after the brute had left that finally the ivory female rose, stretching near cat-like with a great yawn and a shake. For a moment all she does is sniff about the confined space, comforted by the blanket of Maddox's scent. When at last she had regained enough of a conscious mind to brave the open world she was out of that space before the chill could chase her back in. Already a layer of snow dusted the earth; a canvas of white and the brown of rock and barren trees. The cold nipped at her nose and her paws yet it did not deter her from clambering up a nearby outcrop to catch the morning sun, only to be disappointed when the icy breeze of winter swept away any warmth. Still she sat, if not soaking in the rays as she was her surroundings. Maddox returned shorty after, hauling some unfortunate creature. The sun reflects off the snow, the hues of his coat, and the ripple of muscle beneath his pelt. At first all she does is watch, some instinctive part of the mind compelling her to be impressed with the catch and his effort to bring it back to her. For a moment there's a flutter in her chest and Adali cannot deny that she truly was awed by him. He was good to her, kind, patient, doting and she didn't think she had ever eaten as well as she had of late. There'd been plenty catch in Irrsin, but so much of it had been left at the paws of its ice queen. Auds dip back from a brief onslaught of things past and present for she still could not fathom Maddox's continued presence. If she didn't battle it continuously the guilt of his loss would marr her. Someone so good deserved so much more than a runaway sklavin. Slinking from her perch, her ears were first yanked from their usual anchor by the sound of her name. He'd dove into the den by the time she had reached him. Her gaze swept to the lump just beyond the threshold: a morbid pile of blud-clumped fur that was still recognizable. It was an odd thing for a meal, thought Adali, but she wasn't choosy when it come to sustenance. "I'm here," she calls, seating herself beside his catch without really touching it. Her mouth waters, stomach churns, but as brave as she'd been to flee she was still not to eat. And all she can do is gaze his way when his multi-hued coat appears again from the darkness.

» K A S I M I R A
Winter had finally, finally come to the lands. Kasimira, in all her somber blackness, was not one for the dullness that Iudex's harsh grip brought during this season; and yet, she crept across the land at a steady pace, flicking her ears as snow glittered down from the heavens. It was so bone-chilling, so desolate--the general playfulness that she sported with her pack during the warm and balmy months of the year was lost to the depths of white. It was in fact, wholly abnormal for her to be out at a time like this, but the situation at hand was too strong a calling to be denied by the incoming snows. Her blue eyes found match with the icicles in overhead trees, and she set them steadfastly on her destination.
As she reached the next ridge, Kasimira's eyes searched the growing frost, scanning for the sklavin that was blatantly absent from her lands. Where Adali had wandered off to exactly was the biggest and most pressing question of the moment, but the Queen was almost positive of the reasoning. That mangy frieor's scent had been like a nettle against Irrsin's soft meadow aromas, easy distinguished and easily tracked, at least until the trail was broke by the creek that circled Irrsin's borders. The bubbling water wasn't quiet cold enough to freeze over, and with the current snow fall to further slow her, the lead she'd initially gained on the pair had been lost. Kasimira held back a toothy snarl at the thought of Maddox running away with her sklavin, refocusing her gaze as she switched gears. Reasoning and personal irritations didn't matter at the moment. What was important was simply finding the groveling little she-wolf. She'd figure out a punishment as she dragged the two of them by their scruff back to Irrsin. Maybe Maddox would enjoy joining Irrsin's ranks by force...
Figures that it would start snowing, what with her white fur and all. The black alpha shuddered and shook off the gathering snow for a moment before she considered where to continue her search. The falls' banks and hidden areas of refuge had given Kasimira no clue, as neither had any of the neighboring packs. The wolves of others were either hidden like Norden, or bold in their approach like Einheit, and Kasimira dared not anger another pack at this volatile time of year over something so small as a runaway sklavin. She passed along the lands of Einheit and the others without so much as a second glance. Her best bet then had been the Auktion Rock. Maybe another dominor had scented them--or better yet, found them.
But now, as she stood below Ravensbruck's largest cliff mass, Kasimira had a different, striking idea. What better than a cliff to spot her sneaky little runaway from? She swiftly changed her direction and resoundingly began the ascent to the top of the Hagen Mesa, sooty paws kicking up snow as she loped. Her thick, black fur was in stark contrast to her pale surroundings and she made haste to find paths under trees and between bushes whenever she could to hide her obvious form. She'd take note of what she saw and hopefully she'd get lucky, Eperna willing. If not, to the Auktion Rock she went.
-- -- --
Before she'd even reached the top of the Mesa's heights, paw tracks crossed and recrossed the charcoal she-wolf's path. Kasimira's fur bristled as she leaned down to sniff, her body quivering. It was resoundingly Madddox. Fur raised and with anger jolting her stomach, the Irrsin Queen took to the trail, her head down, her tail raised. By the occasional red splatter, it was obvious he'd managed to kill something out here. She trotted faster, her blood up and racing through her, fueling her to continue. And before she'd gone much further, the paw prints stopped. So soon? The black female took to sniffing around a moment longer before spotting a patch of overgrown and woven tendrils and tree roots off to her left. A den. Kasimira strode over to the makeshift den as quietly as she could manage, fighting between holding her usual posture of regalia or attempting more furtive strides. She wanted the full effect of her presence to be felt...
"Off for a little vacation in the snow? Tortuga and I would have loved to have tagged along."
Kasimira's snarl was nothing less than lethal. Wrapped in blackness, she waited for Adali or Maddox to try and side step her advance. She'd be more than happy to show that scrappy sklavin what became of wolves who tried to leave without permission.

Maddox "I'm here.”Whirling, Maddox breathed a sigh of relief as he laid eyes on Adali. She sat beside the bobcat, staring at him with those luminous eyes, and Maddox smiled widely as he strolled back out of the makeshift den. It warmed his heart to see her outside of Irrsin, waiting beside the food he’d been so happy to bring to her. For a moment he paused to watch her, imagining their life like this, with her free and he defending her. He would have loved nothing more than to fall asleep curled around her warm body each night, his face buried in the soft white fur of her ruff. It was disheartening to remember that eventually he would have to take her back, but he shook the thought from his head as if it were an irksome fly.”Sorry,” he mumbled with a sheepish grin, sitting across from her with the cat between them. ”I get a little nervous sometimes when it comes to you. Please, eat.” He nudged the limp body closer to her, gazing up at her with his bright golden eyes. He’d noticed her hesitation at eating first, but she’d done surprisingly well when it came to dealing with her time away from Irrsin. He’d been admittedly surprised, although he’d never truly doubted her. It was a relief to know that he hadn’t scared her or left a negative impact on her somehow. It was perfect, really, and that should have been his first indication that something would go horribly wrong. The snow swirled softly around them, he’d managed to fit adequate food and shelter, and Adali seemed perfectly content with him. So intent was he on making sure that she ate, that he didn’t notice the slender black she-wolf until she was upon them. Her words ripped through him like a tsunami, the cold tone unmistakable. Kasimira had found them at last.Getting to his feet with a single spring, Maddox turned to meet her vivid blue eyes, stepping across the forgotten kill so that he stood at Adali’s side. He did not dare stand between them, only because he knew how it would irk the dominor, but he hovered close enough to intervene should she attempt to hurt his mate. Mate, he thought, startled as he paused to look at Adali. She was his, he reminded himself, and it started a fire within him, fueling his courage as he turned back to face the livid alpha. ”So sorry, Kasimira. I completely forgot to invite you and your little lovebird along,” he said, flashing her a wide smile, his voice pitched low as if he’d truly made a mistake. He harbored no fond feelings for Tortuga, who’d always looked at him so queerly, and his feelings for Kasimira were no different either. There was a brief moment where Maddox warred with himself, torn between fearlessly standing agains the she-wolf and bargaining with her for Adali’s safety. After a moment he took a single step forward, head held high, his eyes never leaving her face. ”Let’s skip the part where you make threats and get straight to the important question, shall we?” He asked, suddenly serious. ”What can I do to guarantee her safe return to Irrsin?” It was inevitable that Adali would have to return, no matter how much it stung, but Maddox would be damned if he’d let anything hurt her. Even her testy dominor.

Adali
Her heart is thundering so rapidly that Adali fears it might leap from her chest and into his paws. She cannot fathom why he would be nervous about anything concerning her yet despite her bewilderment it moves her so. And despite the flakes of snow gradually dusting her coat, the skin under her fur is so easily lit with fire. She felt warm all over suddenly, as if the summer sun had suddenly returned to scorch her. The whole thing has her mind racing and quickly she reminds herself of her place and that he couldn't possibly mean it how she wished he did. It was wrong to wish it in the first place, anyway. Maddox is simply nice like that; surely he would do the same for anyone. As desperate as Adali was to feel special, wanted, needed, she was equally hesitant to believe her midnight fantasies were coming true. There was so much evidence laid out before her and still she so often refused to accept it. One moment she might be boundingly happy and the next falling back to earth and reality. Similar to Maddox, Adali had not a clue as to who approached them through the delicate rain of snowflakes. Her muzzle was barely halfway to the kill when a sickeningly familiar voice rang through the still air. At first the sklavin was not ready to believe it were any more than a nightmare until Maddox was springing forward to confirm her worst fears. Just as quickly as he moved her head was bolting up, her body spinning in union with his to face the dark figure that had discovered them. If the brute hadn't been there to stand so solidly by her, like he always had, she was sure she might have crumpled into the snow from the very sight of the other female. And yet, though he did stand with her, suddenly Adali felt as if he were somehow standing against her at the very same time. Auds had folded back to her skull but she still caught the way he spoke of a soul that wasn't even there to meet them. Tortuga. He sounded so bitter when he spoke of him and something within the she-wolf lit with an irritation she rarely felt. The ivory dominor had been her only ally in Irrsin. It was ironic, if one thought on it, because his mate was the very one here to drag her back to the iron bars. Kicking and screaming, if she needed to. Kasimira's own words jolted her violently yet Adali found herself wishing the brute had tagged along. She knew it was a fool's wish to think he might more easily settle the whole matter, that he might be there to stand for her when the love of his life did not, but it was a wish there nonetheless. And then there was the bargaining, how Maddox quickly jumped to both defend her and guarantee a safe return. Her bright, petrified gaze snaps to him and all at once she isn't sure if she feels honored to have him swiftly protect her and solidify her safety or betrayed that he hands her so easily to the lone female before them. Adali doesn't want Maddox to fight; violence had always made her stomach churn and she could not fathom seeing this beautiful soul beside her harmed. But she doesn't want to go back. The burst of confidence that had taken hold of her very bones the day she ran had no intention of returning. She had not thought on it nor dwell on it. Now that she was forced to, something surprisingly broke from her muzzle. "No!" She blurts it loud enough to make herself jump and it hangs heavy in the air between the trio. Golden eyes are still saucers, but she dare not move. She doesn't even sink to the snow or cower under the furious gaze of her dominor.

"So sorry, Kasimira. I completely forgot to invite you and your little lovebird along,” The male's voice was deep and mildly apologetic on the outside, but Kasimira knew better. Instinctively her white teeth bared themselves and her ears lay pinned against her silken head. She raised a pointed paw at Maddox and opened her mouth to speak more iritations, but the khaki wolf beat her to the punch. His eyes were narrowed against her own, and for a brief moment Kasimira felt the roaring intensity of his passion.
”Let’s skip the part where you make threats and get straight to the important question, shall we? What can I do to guarantee her safe return to Irrsin?”
The queen's breath paused, lingered. Was he trying to bargain with her? Kasimira quirked a brow at the male, utterly curious about what he was thinking. Of course Adali had to be punished. She'd stepped out of line, she'd ignored Kasimira's thorough warning, and greatest of all, she'd turned her back on her queen's merciful concessions.
"No!"
Adali, her pale coat like a dove, had finally grown her wings. Her eyes were wide with fear, but her stance was strong, built up from wobbling legs as a chick. Kasimira was dumbfounded. She bit the silence for a long while, only turning to narrow her cerulean eyes at the sklavin who openly defied her. Adali exemplified the weak things of the land; the snapping of twigs when piled high with heavy winter snows, the downcast meadow grasses against lofty winds and gusts. And yet, here she was, a lowly bird trying to reach the glory of the sun.
"You will be quiet."
Dismissial. That's what her outbreak warranted. Not fire and hell and raging dominor--no, no. Adali was breaking free. Ignoring her subtly and casting her away was the best path for the moment. Kasimira said nothing more as she glanced back at Maddox. It was all too clear how Adali felt about the return trip to Irrsin, but as she was a sklavin, the Irrsin Alpha cared not. She was to listen to her master or suffer the consequences. Kasimira blinked absentmindedly at the male once more before she addressed him. Her voice was coolly detached, as if other things tugged at her attention.
"She can return to Irrsin unharmed. But you, Maddox, will take her there. And if the pair of you don't return after three sunrises, I will drag her back myself."
And then, Kasimira took a haughty step forward, her tail raised. A whispering growl slipped from between her teeth, threatening and callous against the previous facade of indifference.
"If you try to run, I will ravage this land in search of you. One way or another, I will find you. And when I do, I will tear her apart. I will leave patches of her fur for the crows to nest in and I will provide her with rivers that turn that precious white to red."
A pause.
"And then I will sell her. I will sell her to someone more unforgiving than myself. Someone who will love her in the depths of night more than you have already." It was at this that Kasimira snarled, hinting faintly that she believed them to have broken her previous rule regarding pups. "And you, my dearest Maddox, will have wished you had listened to my initial acceptance of your relationship."
Kasimira, with her blue eyes blazing now, growled deeply at the male. He was treading cracking ice and if he fell in... This, and this alone, was their final chance. Turning away from the pair, she flitted between leaving now for the Auktion Rock or visiting an old friend of hers.
"We'll discuss your mating union when we next meet. Three days. I'll be awaiting your return."
And without so much as a nod to either, the black female trotted away. Her hips swayed as she burst into a race, clawing across the ground like a devil unleashed. Kasimira, the unrivaled Queen of Irrsin, was back.

Maddox No.For a moment, Maddox convinced himself that it was Kasimira who had spoken, despite the fact that her lips did not move. It was so odd when the realization came, and he turned to face Adali with surprise and admiration in his eyes, hidden behind just a hint of that mischievous twinkle. He’d never heard her speak against a dominor before, and he’d never expected her to – especially not when one considered how desperately she wished to please the irritating ebony she-wolf. She looked…beautiful, he thought, despite her wide eyed wonder. She didn’t apologize, didn’t stutter, and didn’t take back what she’d said. She held her ground, and he was proud. And then Kasimira dismissed her as easily as she might an unruly pup. He turned his sharp gaze back to the alpha, distaste written clearly on his features. He listened silently as Kasimira listed her conditions, surprised that she would grant them three days…and then she continued on, each threat making his anger rise higher and higher. He could so perfectly picture what Kasimira’s words painted, and it made a more primal part of him awaken from its slumber, a part of him that was cold and merciless and full of hatred. He had never – never! – coupled with Adali as Kasimira suggested. He would not even dream of it unless Adali clearly wished it, unless she brought it up, and the thought of another brute taking that last shred of choice and dignity from her made his vision flash red. ”…mating union…three days...return…” The words landed as lightly as a butterfly might; he barely managed to comprehend what she’d said through his cold rage, and although he knew that the “mating union” part should have warranted more concern, he tucked it away for later thought. As Kasimira turned to strut away from him, feminine hips swinging with so much arrogance that he nearly gagged, Maddox considered leaping after her. He longed to grab her by the neck, to sling her lithe body into the ground with enough force to shatter, to bloat the snow with her blood…he longed for it so fiercely that his muscles twitched as if to propel him forward, his brain repeating over and over, keep her safe, keep her safe, keep her safe. He would demolish Kasimira, and when her mate came like a lamb to slaughter, he would kill him too. If their daughter dared try him after that then her courage would be commendable, but he would end her too, and one by one the pack members of Irrsin would either flee or lay broken beneath his paws. He would leave the meadow in utter desolation, stained and ruined, as he took Adali far, far away. He could picture it so clearly that he could taste the coppery blood on his tongue, and yet…And yet, he couldn’t. He nearly sagged with the realization as his vision cleared, and he turned his golden eyes on Adali, traces of the murderous rage still receding from his gaze. What would she think of him if she watched him rip into her dominor? Or Tortuga, for that matter, who Adali had always seemed fond of. Killing or maiming Kasimira wouldn’t solve anything, not when the possibility of her loved ones hunting them was very real. Surely Tortuga would hunt him down, and even if he managed to kill Maddox and spare Adali, he would likely take the ivory she-wolf back to Irrsin as a slave again. And if he didn’t, his daughter would, Maddox assumed. He knew very little of Dresna save for the glimpses he caught of her while visiting Adali, but he was sure that she would have her revenge. If she was less lenient that Tortuga, if she somehow managed to find Adali, would she make good on her mother’s threats? It was too much of a risk. Breathing a ragged sigh, he moved closer to Adali, trying to calm his frazzled nerves.”I’m sorry,” he said, very quietly. And he was. He’d never meant to land Adali in trouble, and yet it seemed like it was all that he’d ever done. ”I will never let her do anything to hurt you. I would sooner die that let her harm you, in any shape or form.” He loved her fiercely, and all he’d ever wanted was to show her that she was worth more than a life of her belly brushing the earth as she groveled for forgiveness. Given the choice Maddox would choose her over a fearsome alpha like Kasimira, over a daring freior that he’d met by the dozen in his journeys, over anyone. He would choose her and every problem, every solution, every promise that she brought with her. Always. NOTES: feelin' the murderous Maddox lmao| COUNT: 791 | TAGGED: Ὀδύσσεια♐ »Image

Adali "You will be quiet."Auds sink back into Adali's skull and disappear as if they'd never been there to begin with. Eyes have gone wider, if at all possible, and the she-wolf tucks her chin closer to the fluff of her own chest. She does not cower or quiver with unrelenting fear, but she does sit back and scoot ever so slightly away from the other female. The dismissal might have burned her more had she possessed a higher level of pride, but what came after certainly managed to incinerate the confidence that had slowly built over the past many months; the confidence that Maddox had instilled. Each word was harsh and each threat and promise of her demise chipped away at her resolve. She had boldly stated no, but now she could not even dwell on the idea of it. She would go back. Slaves always went back. Still, there was something nagging at the back of her mind. For the life of her she could not figure why her alphess would go through so much trouble as she ruthlessly declared. Adali was but a mere sklavin; unremarkable, easily overlooked like one grain of sand in a desert sea. She had done her tasks well and without question, rained down gifts gifts on her queen that forsook her own stomach. Kasimira had never cared for her, the others never looked her way and Tortuga? Adali was not at all sure what the brute thought of her, but surely he and his kin would not miss her if she ever faded away. She was nothing. Why her dominor kept her, why she came all this way, why she promised to tear into her and damage her beyond repair, and why she didn't rid of her worthless hide then and there was beyond the sklavin. For once, she wanted to cry at the unfairness of it all. This one chance to escape with hopes she would live up to her fate of being nothing, and it was snatched from her grip before she could ever taste it. The accusation that she had mated with the brute next to her nearly flew straight over her head and would have if some inkling in the pit of her stomach had not flared. It latched there and quickly spread, flames licking through her veins and out over her body until she was sure the skin beneath her ivory fur was flushed. Quite suddenly her thoughts veered from their state of depression and self-loath and onto another path that had her narrowing her eyes in the wake of Kasimira's path. The ebony dominor was gone over the rocks and the snow and through the trees by then, but she glared at the space she'd been as if she were still there. Not that Adali would have had the guts to do so in her presence and hell, even with her gone it was a sight on the sklavin's face. It lasts only the blink of an eye, though, before she's suddenly lowering her gaze back to the snow without a clue as to what about it lit the rare flames of her irritation. "I don't want you to die," she breaths, flicking her gaze from the powdery snows and up to his face. Adali moves closer then, edging towards him until she is huddled to his chest and molding with his own form. She is sure she feels hotter than she should in that chilled air around them but longs for his heat and nearness nonetheless. "Please don't ever die, Maddox. Even if she kills me I want you to live." Such heavy words they were that even Adali isn't all too sure where they had come from right then. Perhaps lingering somewhere in the depths of her mind, blocked and walled up behind years of oppression and a thousand stitched and invisible wounds. Kasimira had torn her down once more as easily as one might a fresh-born fawn. And yet Adali refused to buckle completely under that weight again. Not again.

Maddox "I don't want you to die.”She edged closer to him, grounding Maddox with her soft fur and lithe body that nestled into his chest. He lowered his head to touch her muzzle with his own, the gentlest brush that spoke worlds more than words ever could. His heart still beat heavily in his chest from the confrontation, his legs stiff and tense. Adali was the only reason he had stayed rooted, he reminded himself, instead of foolishly chasing after the infuriating dominor. She was the only thing that had been able to penetrate the haze hanging over his mind, her voice like an arrow of blinding light. "Please don't ever die, Maddox. Even if she kills me I want you to live."Involuntarily his lips parted and he snarled, pulling Adali closer to him in the same motion. The idea of her dead was worse than any other; he could not imagine being without her now. It would destroy him, he was certain of it.”Without you, I would be nothing,” said Maddox, his voice never wavering. ”Even if I walked the earth, I would be as good as dead inside. I would never stop hunting her until she hurt as much as me, until I had destroyed everything she loved. But even that wouldn’t bring you back.”He sobered with the realization, taking a single step away from Adali, craning his head to gaze into her eyes. His heart ached with the thought that it was his fault that her life was in danger. He had so boldly waltzed into her life, convincing her to leave Irrsin, to break every damned rule that kept her safe. He would do anything to keep her alive and well, he realized, even if that meant bowing down and licking Kasimira’s paws, as much as the idea of obeying her sickened him. Resigned to his fate, he silently decided that he would take her back to Irrsin when he was instructed to, and from there he would decide how best to keep her safe within his sights. For now, however, he would enjoy what little freedom they had.Turning to glance at the mouth of the cave where the bobcat still lay cooling and untouched, gesturing to the kill with his muzzle. ”Now that we’ve finished with that hellish encounter, we can eat.” He moved away from her somewhat reluctantly, circling around to stand on the other side of the carcass before turning his golden eyes on Adali again. A smile touched his muzzle as he waited for her to follow, his resolve hardening with each second. He would give his life for her if he had to. Seeing her lithe body standing before him, white fur blending in with the piles of snow behind her, was the only thing that kept his spirits even semi-aloft. He would not be without her.”Help yourself,” he said softly, a touch of concern clear in his voice. He wanted to see her eat, to see her be healthy and strong. He was not sure how he would manage to watch over her once he’d taken her back to her horrid back, so his only solace would be that at least she did not return with an empty belly or wanting for anything. Except, perhaps, her freedom. NOTES: they're my favorite okay <3 | COUNT: 551| TAGGED: Ὀδύσσεια♐
