Pelkuri Pelkuri could feel a certain calmness in the wind, a quiet, tranquil breeze as it swept through the trees around her. She moved forward, but this time carefully, she wasn’t running from anything, she didn’t have any where to be for the first few moments in her life she felt a complete freedom. A glorious rarity that she wanted all the time in the world to cherish and she knew the perfect place to do so. Often on her walks she heard the splashes of the water fall, but never had she gone to visit, she didn’t have time or she was too scared. Today felt different, special, a day to finally be bold. The large waterfall wasn’t difficult to fine, from miles away you could hear it crying, loads of water plummeting at such a marvelous height, it truly must’ve been a sight to see. She slowed her usual fast pace and took the time to just watch, as flocks of birds scattered and relocated to another tree, they shook the branches she’d never taken any real time to look at the birds, she’d only really seen them when they were her prey.
The roaring water gradually got louder until it seemed as if at any moment she herself would go flying off the mountain into a pool of water. Her narrow ears flipped forward it must’ve been straight through the small thicket in front of her. However, instead of going around the bushy area, Pelkuri thought it would be much quicker to pick her way through it. Halfway through she jumped a thorn had stuck itself inside of her soft, vulnerable paw pads. She paused mid-step, debating for a moment whether or not it would be wiser to back up. She continued, determined to see this water fall. “Ah finally...” she muttered aloud, it truly was a breathtaking sight, well worth the small thorn, she plopped down into a small grassy patch and flipped her paw inward gently licking the area and trying, unsuccessful to coax it out.
She took a short break from her small wound to actually take in the sight, a natural wonder completely enveloped by trees and mountains, she hadn’t seen too many things that were equal in spectacle.

He ran through the thick bushes and long grass. A simple jog and the feeling of the wind through his fur had Zane lolling his tongue with the simple joys of it all. Powerful legs propelled him forward and he simply leaped over small tree stumps and foliage. His crashing through the branches had birds and small squirrels fleeing. He wasn't hunting today though. The thrill of the hunt had happened last night with a few hares. Ah he'd been a lucky fool to stumble upon a mother and her young. They were a delicious meal and he'd savored every bite.
Happily the free roamer ran towards his peaceful home. He was one of the wolves that fought to keep the waterfall an unclaimed and quaint place. A sanctuary of sorts for all the wolves that lived in the area. No one would suffer here. He threw his bulk over the last of the bushes and hit dirt. He kept running gracefully and landed with a loud splash in the cold water. He sighed as his hot muscles cooled themselves. It felt amazing to be in this water.
The water ran freely and he waded out far enough that he began to swim. His paw fighting to keep him afloat. He grinned as he reached the other side and gave his fur a good hard shake. It flung water from his pelt and he stretched. That felt good. A free wolf like he feared no one though he trusted no one as well. Just a basic survival instinct he picked up. He turned and lapped at the cold water. Taking in huge gulps he sighed. There was no other feeling greater than being free. Once being a slavkin he knew what it was like to be tormented, beat, and kept in chains. His missing dew claws and scar across his muzzle seen to that. Now he would work on a vendetta to free the captive wolves. He just needed more time and training. More days like this. Raising his head he sighed and for once noted the beauty of this fall.
He turned and his brows raised as he caught sight of another wolf. He lifted his nose to scent the air. It was a female and . . . she was alone. Good last thing he needed was a small band of idiots or a lovey dovey couple. Snorting he moved from the moving water a bit to lay down in the sun to dry off. He lapped at his paws to clean them. Moving to his chest he peered at her whilst cleansing. So she saw his whole morning training. Free as he was, he missed the company of others but from here, he didn't really know how to approach her. He would leave it up to her. If she left, well he'd let her leave. If a wolf didn't want to talk it wasn't his business to force them.

Pelkuri Pelkuri was so focused on removing the thorn from her paw that she didn’t notice another wolf was in the area. She hadn’t even thought about others it had been just her for so long. She looked up when she caught the foreign scent drifting on the breeze, most definitely the scent of a male, her ears twitched, and there she saw him soaking up the glorious rays of sun. She wished to join him, for the longest time the only words spoken were from her and directed at herself, or something with no means of responding.
Pelkuri hadn’t realized how lonely she really was, how she desperately missed the company of others, but she wouldn’t let on, she couldn’t she knew that that would only result in making her weaker. She walked closer, slowly and choosing her steps carefully, trying as hard as she could not to put any weight on her paw. She knew she’d look a bit inadequate, unable to remove even the tiniest of thorns, but it was very small. She kept telling herself that water would help remove it, and that might be the case.
She walked forward and sat in a rather uncomfortable position and thought she should at least acknowledge the reason she was propped so awkwardly “Word of warning there are thorns in the thicket...” she paused and looked him over, a deep scar was visible on his face “…but I’m sure you already knew that” she spoke slower and more deliberately now this was the first time she’d seen this and it occurred to her how little she’d seen in her lifetime. Pelkuri looked away trying hard not to stare, it was hard to imagine what that scar looked like when it was fresh and how it happened. “I just thought maybe some water would help.” She scanned the bank for a shallow area one where she could just dip her paw in then get back to yanking out the pesky thorn. “Oh, by the way I’m Pelkuri, my family used to call me Kuri, you can do the same if you’d like?” She offered, conversation wasn’t her strongest suit especially with a stranger.
She found a spot and slowly made her way over and began to submerge her front two paws into the water.

Zane stopped his grooming as he watched the dame approach. He decided on friendly as she walked with a limp. Limp? He scanned the area behind her. If there were wolves causing a ruckus in this part of the woods they would have to deal with him. He cleared his throat and was ready to speak when she told him of the thorny thickets. Oh that's why she was limping he instantly calmed down and turned his head to the side. What was she staring at? He shook his head in case there was a bit of mud clinging to his fur. That would be embarrassing.
Nope he didn't see anything fly off. 'So what is she . . . ? Oh,' he thought, 'yeah buddy you got the side of your face tore up.'
Well if she wasn't too put off by it he decided to make a joke make her feel more comfortable than awkward. "This was just a gift from earning my freedom. No need to worry. It's healed up fine, just a permanent reminder of where I'm from and where I'll never return."
He wagged his tail. That was friendly right? Relaxing he shrugged his shoulders. He usually chewed thorns from his pads. So Pelkuri, that was a neat name. Better than his one syllable easy peasy name. Still he brushed the thought aside and introduced his own self, "Alright, Kuri, you can call me Zane. 'Fraid I don't have a nickname but Zane's easy enough."
He flopped his head on the ground. At least from this position he didn't look like a large wolf. He basically looked just like everyone else. Light brown with cream and white points. Supposedly he looked like his mother, which he hopped that his siblings would spot him from that. Obviously since this female didn't recognize him she wasn't related to him, and he didn't recognize her scent at all. Still he wanted to band together with a few wolves before they went off an joined a pack. Especially if he wanted wolves to know he was dead serious about freeing the sklavin. He wondered if this wolfess had once been a captive? That was a hard question to ask so he swallowed it to wait for something easier to talk about.

Pelkuri After both of her small paws were sufficiently soaked she backed up onto dry land, perhaps not being as cautious as she should’ve been with this new wolf, though she normally didn’t take well to strangers nothing about him screamed danger. She sprawled down in front of him with a foot halfway in her mouth and paused when he spoke. “So you escaped, huh?” She tilted her head and felt a certain respect for this wolf. “Must’ve taken a lot of guts, I don’t think I could’ve done it. I’d probably accept my fate a wait to die, it’s a lucky thing I didn’t have to.”
“Zane, that’s got a nice sound to it! Not only is it easy it’s very fun” She spoke with a short laugh “I like fun names, don’t you?” She smiled again, distracted enough to forget the intruder in her paw. She bit down until finally she worked the thorn out. “That’s smaller than I expected” she looked at the tiny thing that’d been bugging her for so long. “It’s amazing I’ve survived so long on my own, really, if such as small thing as a thorn puts me off.” She could only give a short smile “The water didn’t really help, but I half expected it not to.”
She began to lick the small area, it tasted terrible, she shook her little head and decided to leave it alone, she twisted her head to see all different angles of the charming area. “It’s really something, the waterfall! I’ve never seen it before, I’m glad I came!” Now that she started she couldn’t stop looking, her eyes glittered like a new born and she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s peaceful too, it’s one of the only places I’ve ever felt safe.” She rested her head on her paws but only for a moment, she shot back up and looked at his scar one more time. “I’m sorry that happened to you…“ She shook her head again, she didn’t want to annoy him but she had a slight feeling that she was doing just that. “Forgive me for talking so much, I’ve just got a lot to say, you know?”
She felt her eyes begin to wander once more, this land was filled with so much happiness, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d been somewhere so peaceful. She watched as another flock of birds took flight but this time they didn’t simultaneously land on another tree, they fled she not only let her eyes but her entire head follow the group of animals.

(I think I might have Zane be a ladies man, I love Pelkuri and Amber's character -points to Delany and Zane thread in the Auktion rock-. I think they should all travel together eventually. Maybe join a pack together? We need another male eventually too. -plots in head many ideas-:P) Zane snorted. Oh this one was hilarious. He instantly decided he liked her. For one that didn't trust others judgment he did trust his and his were screaming at him to accept the conversation. Which he happily did. Yes he did escape but not on his own. He thought of the beautiful mistress who set him free. She was older than he, but still in the back of his mind he wanted her. A foolish notion but she trusted him enough to set him free. He always wondered why. Maybe the old she wolf just saw that he was not to be tamed or maybe she knew about his heritage and where he came from. Supposedly he was born with a dominors personality but being in cage and feeling others pain sobered him to drive to free and keep free from past sklavin to possible sklavin.
He listened to her words. Laughing when she said his name was fun. Well that was a relief. He nodded his head to agree with her. Though inwardly he still thought her name was neat. Interesting. Just like her it seemed after that she got her thorn out and he watched as she spit the tiny thing out. He wanted to laugh again at how much fret she caused over a tiny thing. He heard her words and couldn't help the next few words spill from his mouth, "heroes are just cowards who stand up for themselves. Living alone in these woods means you know survival and how to keep from getting caught. There are wolves who would like to think that it is not an asset but I say don't believe them."
He winked at her. The words of a stranger probably meant nothing to her but he wagged his tail and would let her think as she pleased. He copied her head movements and looked around the waterfall. The awe of it all really. The woods surrounded this peaceful area. He breathed it all in. He heard her apology and shook his head. He would never accept sorry. It was apart of him now. Besides sometimes he thought it made himself look dashing. Though he felt he owed her a story as to why it was there..
"A mistress set me free," he owned up that truth though the scar . . . "I've never been tamed though, this . . ." he tossed his head up gesturing to the past wound, "was from a failed escape attempt from one of my masters. You can say I was always a freior wolf, a free roamer. I never accepted where I was in the past and I'll never claim once being a sklavin. Now I try to keep that freedom in the free lands. I don't own them, and it should be a sanctuary. Just like these falls where we are at. . . . "
Zane would fight to death to keep himself and the free lands free. Even if he was suckered into a pack of wolves, he would always have a toe out in the free lands. Would always try to bring new recruits to the pack to keep them safe. Of course if he could find a pack that didn't keep sklavin, the chances of that of course were rare.

MARZELL Heat. Blazing heat. It rippled in waves over the male as he sent a pace strumming into the forest, his eyes wide for the landmark that promised a swift sense of release and comfort. Audits pricked anxiously, his blue eyes searching. Should be right about here... Turning a bush, Marzell let his breath sigh with a relief that turned vehemently into a vexed grunt when the roaring water didn't greet him at the bend as he'd expected. Hmph. He could have swore it was just southeast of the lowest point in Irrsin. The falls themselves were easily identifiable and not far from his home land, so why was he having trouble now?
Maybe it was his inner guilt. He hadn't told any of the pack where he was headed, and regardless of the fact that he told himself that he hardly cared enough to be bothered to flip even an ear behind him for safe measures, he had intended this to be a quick, midday trip. His mother would be furious if she knew he'd run off without informing someone. Rules, rules, rules. They could deal with him later. If nothing else, he could always blame Zy and tell Mother that the flirtatious sklavin simply forgotten his note of absence. He was much too uncomfortable to worry about his parents' combined, bothersome conscious now. He had a waterfall to find.
After a few more rounds and investigative sniffs, Marzell set off in a new direction, the wind pulling his scent downwind from his position. Maybe he would have time to hunt down a rabbit or two before he returned home. A gift of appeasement was sure to put the Queen at bay long enough for the prince to wriggle out of any punishment he was due. The male made a mental note to find something worthy for the Alpha pair before setting off at a faster pace, his gangly legs reaching, the young spine coiling. Faster, faster. Out in front of him the water of the falls called, faint in intensity, yet strong in tone and reality. It wasn't far now.
Marzell's scrawny adolescence burst through the bush and into the pool before him with a squeal of delight ripping off his lips. The water's coolness enveloped him as he clamped his eyes shut and surrendered himself to the tingles of excitement, previous accountability lost to the rush of the water and the movement. Marzell pummeled to reach the surface, carefully ambling out of the water to calm his racing heart. How wonderful it felt, to be so alive like this. This, this was freedom.
The male huffed and shook his dripping pelt as he padded forward, opening his eyes to the two wolves that had been sitting at the water's edge throughout his whole ordeal. A male and a female sat side by side, their expressions unreadable. Neither looked like much of a fight, but the stench of rival male was thick in the air and it made Marzell's hair stand on end. How long had they been there? Had they seen him act like a pup in the water?
Shocked at his ignorance and youth, Marzell jumped and bared his teeth immediately, his mind sprinting forward to try and scrabble together ideas of how to guard himself most effectively. He didn't know these strangers; were they friend or foe? Tortuga and Kasimira's warmth, their overall guiding security was a good few miles away. Much too far for a rescue, even if his pride had allowed him to accept such a thing. Blue eyes glistening, the Irrsin heir did the only thing he knew and snarled a challenge.
"And just who might you two be?"
Naive and young, his instincts roared at him as he spoke, the words deeper in tone. He'd grown much over the past few months, both in stature and personality. His tenacity was well known in the pack, his bite and sharp tongue more so. Hopefully, they would prove useful outside the clearly marked lines of Irrsin's borders.

Pelkuri Pelkuri, looked at the other wolf with anxious eyes there were so many stories to be told, so many things to learn, things she’d never even thought about in the past. It was strange how quickly she felt safe, perhaps it was due to the fact that he’d shared information with her, a small yet valid form of trust. He spoke about heroes and she nodded in agreement. She knew she’d never be any form of a hero; she didn’t have enough bravery to even stand up for herself, let alone others. “I’ve survived on instinct, staying away from trouble and fleeing a situation with potential danger, I don’t know what I’d do if trouble found me.” She laughed; the mood all of a sudden had gotten so serious “A mistress?” she questioned, she would love nothing more than to hear the thrilling tale of his escape but she wouldn’t press for it, if she stuck with this wolf she would learn in time. “I love being free, no one ever tells me what I can and cannot do, I don’t have to look out for anyone but myself and I don’t have to answer to any wolf.” She chuckled a bit, almost thinking about what her life would be like if she weren’t free, constantly doing things only to benefit others, she shook the thought away, and she would never be a Sklavin, not if she could help it. She caught another scent, and froze there was another wolf in the area but she hadn’t seen anything move, granted she wasn’t exactly paying attention to the falls anymore. She thrust a confused stare at Zane, did he smell it too? Did he recognize the scent? She tried to calm herself down; perhaps it was a friend of his. However when the wolf approached he didn’t look like a friend, a sturdy, young male far stronger than Pelkuri. There it was, that instinct, everything inside her was screaming to run, she didn’t feel safe but she couldn’t leave, not now her first friend in so long, she wouldn’t abandon him for the sake feeling safe, she would wait it out, try to look brave. She stood up from her laying position and straightened her neck trying to appear taller than she was, it was no use, and she was still thin. They were asked their names she nodded and spoke forcing her voice not to shake . “I’m Pelkuri; you must know that now I feel obligated to ask you the same.” And there she stood, didn’t move a muscle; Pelkuri the coward.

(How old is Marzell?? His bio didn't have it sooo I'm imagining him to not be over a year??? Right?) Zane nodded. His maw opened to speak. But the scent that drew towards him was that of another wolf. He turned his eyes and watched as a young wolf bowled out of the woods and threw himself into the water. The scent that drew him was that of a pack wolf. His fur bristled and he waited for the new wolf to show his face. As he thought the wolf in question did spot them. But the strange reaction drew himself slowly from his grounded position.
Male. Ignorant. And very stupid for disturbing this peaceful place. Zane moved two steps to put Pelkuri at his flank. Shielding her. The kid maybe young but Pelkuri was on the thin side being well connected to her flight instincts. His amber eyes narrowed. Pack wolves, thought so highly of themselves, Zane wouldn't mind a pack but if this is the wolves they bred he didn't want a damn thing to do with them.
The mood within him changed instantly once that whelp showed his teeth. Anger rippled through Zane showing along spin as his fur stood on end. Making all his bulk seem much bigger. He squared his chest and looked down on the pup he snorted. He wasn't even grown into his paws. Unlike this wolf Zane was grown into his paws and was very much battle seasoned. One did not stay a loner without learning a thing or too about battle. Or they ran. He was the latter and while it was not his intention to ever bully a wolf. He would teach lessons if wolves so wished to try him.
Zane figured the pup was not used to running into strange wolves he could have just spoken hello to and earned nothing more than conversation. Kid had guts but the kid was also stupid. He put out a challenge to not just one wolf but two. He either thought low of females or was never taught about loner etiquette. In a pack there was a natural dominance and yes, while the kid showed dominance, out here that meant nothing to him. Zane raised his head high and held his tail out and straight. Kuri was brave and spoke on the inside he grinned on the outside his nose wrinkled showing just the ends of his sharp, white canines. He wasn't about to give his name to some pack wolf.
"Whelp you have nerve. This is Freior lands. And here the free roamers keep the peace not challenge it. Lower that idiotic stance. You aren't in your packlands where dominance rules, child," Zane lowered his voice, it was stern and not yet a growl.
Zane was not an idiot controlled by his anger. He honestly hoped this child would just listen to wisdom and reintroduce himself on a different foot. Obviously sklavin keepers taught their young to treat all like sklavin. It churned his gut. He just wanted a nice day with no threats from anger driven fools and enjoy a conversation with a pretty female. Maybe Kuri would keep the peace between them, she seemed the pleasant sort who could. Though his cold amber eyes never stopped baring into the younger wolf. Never stopped forcing his strong will to make the child back down. Sometimes between wolves that was just enough to quell the tension.

MARZELL At first reaction, the female looked the most surprised, the most taken aback. Pride rippled through Marzell and his growl intensified, the arrogance growing haughty. She was frail looking in his eyes, a wolf that submitted, that did not challenge.
“I’m Pelkuri; you must know that now I feel obligated to ask you the same.”
As she spoke, Marzell's eyes glittered a certain audacity, for he had not actually cared for the female's name. A test of submission, of obedience. Pelkuri had passed. The masculine companion.. not quite. Marzell said nothing in return to the russet-coated female, flicking his eyes only briefly to inspect the counter male's response. He was rather burly and well-built, at least in comparison to himself, the male's tawny fur bright in comparison to his own deep, black fur.
The other male had risen from sitting to deliberately guard the female, his scent stronger and more flaring in contempt. His face told Marzell all he needed to know in a single glance--he'd messed with the wrong wolf. He didn't even have time to respond in the slightest before the tirade was upon him, the opposition's eyes blinking disdain.
"Whelp you have nerve. This is Freior lands. And here the free roamers keep the peace not challenge it. Lower that idiotic stance. You aren't in your packlands where dominance rules, child,"
Marzell, caught between looking a fool and obeying another wolf, stood his ground for a few moments, his mind trying to decide between the two evils. He hesitantly pulled his lips back over his teeth, the eyes still glittering a subdued hostility and the stance still in check. He'd been caught by his own mistake in a situation that burnt his pride and left him grumbling in retrospect.
What now? What could be said that would amend the grievances? Marzell hadn't the true desire to fight either of the wolves before him, even though he thought himself fully capable of taking on the female. He'd been caught off guard, reacted as he'd been taught. Should he show his stomach and attempt to make haphazard friends with the two before him? Pelkuri, from what he'd observed so far, would probably readily agree to smoother, softer terms. The male... He'd want a show of acceptance, of submission in some way. Not happening, buster.
What the male said was right though. They were in freior lands, not a pack or territory. There was no hierarchy, no dominance or class system to enforce. Maybe he wasn't looking for surrender but a simple equality. Letting the fur on his shoulders relax slightly, Marzell grudgingly swept away the vanity and insolence of his temper. At times he had the bold personality of his fiery mother, but paired with the reckoning of his mild father, the two could work in harmony at times. He slowly backed up, pulling his frame into a sitting position, a neutral ground.
"I apologize. I was...err, surprised to see you."
Something inside Marzell kept him from admitting he'd been completely startled by the two, unable to resign himself to the fact that he'd fully been in the wrong.
"Name's Marzell."
He spoke more confidently and calmly as he went on, his eyes softer and without the flaring chagrin as before. A pup's playfulness entered him and he cocked his head as he inquired to the male.
"What were you two doing here anyways?"
ooc- Roughly 9 months old. :3
